I finally got around to watching the Nick Diaz vs Joe Riggs fight today. Unfortunately, I think that I do agree with the final decision. After watching the whole thing from start to finish, I give the decision to Riggs 29-28. Diaz clearly won the first round, but Riggs came back and was able to win the 2nd round closely and won the 3rd won by a mile, in my opinion.
However, one of the judges scored the bout 30-27 for Riggs, and that is crazy. There is no way that Riggs won the first round.
I also finally listened to the MMA Weekly Radio show from this week where both Riggs and Diaz phoned in. Lets say this… Diaz is definately crazy! But both fighters basically had the same account of what happened in the hospital after the fight, so it will be intersting to see what the UFC does with all of this.
Also, if any of you are interested, the Nevada State Athletic Comission released their medical forms after UFC 57.
