The UFC finally officially announced today the matchup of David Terrell vs Scott Smith at UFC 59 in California. This matchup has been rumored and talked about for about two weeks now, but was never verified.
You will probably remember David Terrell from his quick knockout victory over Matt Lindland, and more recently, his loss against Evan Tanner for the open Middleweight belt.
Scott Smith is someone I’m really looking forward to seeing. He has fought for a while in smaller shows like WEC, IFC and Gladiator Challenge. Smith is currenly 9-1 with his only loss coming to UFC veteran, James Irivin. Smith most recently knocked out Justin Levens, another rising MMA fighter, at WEC 18. Since Smith has only fought in smaller shows he hasn’t been available on PPV, but I’ve been able to download a few of his fights. I’m impressed and I think this will be a great matchup.
