With all the excitement surrending UFC 58 and the recent court battles between the UFC and IFL, it has been easy to forget that there is an excellent MMA event happening tonight. The Gracie Fighting Championship will hold their “Hammer House vs. Team Gracie” event tonight in Ohio. Team Hammer House is captained by Mark Coleman, who had that recent victory over Shogun at Pride 31. Team Gracie is captained by Relson Gracie.
Quite a few well-known names are fighting on this card. Wes “The Project” Sims is taking on Daniel Gracie, Matt “The Law” Lindland is fighting Fabio Leopoldo, Mike Pyle is fighting Gustavo Machado, Dan Bobish is fighting Ben Rothwell, and the much recently talked about Chris Brennan is fighting http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?fighterID=428.
At the weigh-ins yesterday, Ohio Athletic Commission Executive Director Bernie Profato shook things up a bit, when he announced there would be a second weigh-in immediately before the event on Friday evening.
“You cannot be more than 10 pounds heavier than what you weighed-in tonight,” Profato told the fighters. He fielded several questions regarding the weigh-in policy, but no disputes arose.
Should be a great night of fights, and the event is available on In-Demand PPV.
