Reports are now surfacing that Jeremy Horn is finished with the UFC. Apparently Horn’s fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 60 was the last fight on his UFC contract, and the UFC has no intentions of resigning him. There is the possibility of Horn going to Japan and fighting in Pride and facing off against some of the big names there.
The whole Horn-UFC conversation has gone on for a while. It seems that Horn has no desire for face off against Rich Franklin, the current UFC 185 lb champ. If he doesn’t want to work his way up and fight for the title, what point is there in remaining in the UFC.
I personally don’t think this matters to most fans one way or the other. For the “new age” UFC fan who has come to MMA by way of The Ultimate Fighter show, they have no idea who Jeremy Horn is. And for those long-time MMA fans, we all know who Horn is, but we have seen him fight pretty much everyone in the USA. Some find Horn to be an extremely boring fighter, while others praise Horn for his technical skill and MMA knowledge.
Personally, I like Horn and think he has done a lot to train a lot of the current fighters you see in MMA today. At pretty much any UFC event, you will see Horn in at least one or two fighters corners. He is a great instructor, and maybe its time he hangs up the gloves and becomes a coach full time. Will anyone miss him if he did?

[...] For us MMA “aficionados,” this is an excellent matchup. I believe the fight will take place at 185 lbs, not at 205 where Lindland just recently fought Quinton Jackson. I recently talked about Horn and is departure from the UFC, and it appears he has landed in the IFL. I do not know whether either fighter has a long-term contract with the IFL, or if this is just a one-fight deal for both fighters. [...]
