Damon Martin over at MMAWeekly.com is reporting that Mike Swick will fight David Loiseau at UFC 63. This will be Loiseau’s first fight back since his brutal five-round loss to Rick Franklin at UFC 58 in March. Mike Swick looks to take one more step in the Middleweight division as he takes on a former number one contender.
“This is my comeback fight and I’m very focused and motivated to put on a great show,” said Loiseau about his match-up with Swick.
Loiseau is no stranger to stand-up fights having some of the best striking skills in the division, not to mention a set of devastating elbows that can end a fight at any moment. His mix of kickboxing and unorthodox striking, like the spinning back kick that basically ended Charles McCarthy’s night when he fought Loiseau at UFC 53, are a dangerous combination for any opponent.
Swick has started to gain a fairly notorious reputation as of late for having such lightning quick hands, but Loiseau doesn’t seem overly concerned.
“My hands are just as fast as his or faster,” said Loiseau…
This middleweight bout will serve as an undercard fight to the main event at UFC 63 pitting current welterweight champion, Matt Hughes versus Georges St. Pierre. Both Swick and Loiseau are currently in training for what should be a spectacular fight at 185lbs.

In my opinion Loiseau will win this fight with authority, but this does provide a real opportunity for Mike to step up to the next level. Will he be another tuf fighter in too deep? Guess we’ll find out.
Yeah I got an email to “check out mmaweekly.com” for a big announcement. Its pretty well known I’m a huge fan of Swick so I guess someone was trying to point it out to me. Its been talked about on Swick’s myspace for a month or more, so no big shock.
Everytime I pick a “Tuf’er” to win, people say I’m retarded. Well when David takes on Swick…I’m going to once again pick a “Tuf’er” and continue to prove my point that these guys, especially from season 1..are all legit.
