Dream Stage Entertainment held a press conference at the FOX Sports Grill in California to announce the first two matchups on their October 21st “Real Deal” event in Nevada.
Both Mark Coleman and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua both will be fighting, but not in a rematch against each other as many had assumed. Mark Coleman will be facing Heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko on the cards main event.
Shogun will be fighting Coleman’s Hammer House training partner, Kevin Randleman. Randleman hasn’t fought since October of last year when he fought in Bushido Europe.
The rest of the cards fights will be announced at a future date. Rumored contestants are Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic, Josh Barnett, Phil Baroni, Kazahiro, Nakamura, Wanderlei Silva, and Kazuyuki Fajita.
I posted a while ago about the fight between Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva being in jeopardy. With the announcement that Silva will be fighting in October on the Las Vegas card, there is pretty much no chance he will then fight Liddell only one month later in November. Sorry everyone, but it really doesn’t look like this fight is going to happen.
