Well, I can pretty much guarantee that a fight between UFC Champion Chuck Liddell and PrideFC Champion Wanderlei Silva will not happen this November as was promised by UFC President Dana White at UFC 59. I’ve already mentioned a few times that there was a strong chance this fight wasn’t going to take place.
After Chuck’s victory over Renato Sobral at UFC 61, the rumor has been that Chuck and Tito Ortiz will have their title rematch on December 30 at UFC 66. That is assuming, of course, that Tito will defeat Ken Shamrock for a third time when they fight again on October 10th in Florida on a UFC Fight Night card. With Silva scheduled to fight in the Pride Open Weight Grand Prix finals in October and Chuck tentatively scheduled to fight Tito again in December, there is no way either fighter will also be fighting in November.
This does not mean the fight between Liddell and Silva will never happen; just not this coming November as was initially promised. I still have strong doubts it will ever happen. Maybe after the Pride FC: The Real Deal show in October in Las Vegas, we will have a better idea about the fight. If Pride fails to make a “big splash” here in the US, they may be more likely to try to finalize a deal with the UFC to get some more cross-promotion. Although, I still have a feeling that it is Dana White and the UFC that is keeping this fight from happening, not DSE and Pride.
i dont get why dana and the UFC wouldnt want this. both their games are striking and chuck would crush him since silva can’t kick him in the head when he down like in pride. even if silva’s plan was to take him down chucks sprawl is too good. this would be a 1 round fight and a rematch with tito will be much better then this could ever be. tito wont stand with chuck like he did last time and i think tito will take the title from chuck if he doesnt get caught early.
There is no way in hell Dana White is the one holding off on this fight. First of all, during the UFC 62 Post Fight Presser White was asked about the Liddell-Silva situation and he stated that “They talk a whole lot of **** but never back it up. I’ve been trying to get this fight for the past five years. I feel it is this best fight out there right now.”
Also White brought up the fact that he has sent fighters over there a few times and Pride has never returned the favor. It almost seems as though Pride is trying to avoid the fight. When Liddell was sent over to Japan by the UFC, Pride had every chance to set up Liddell vs. Silva but they avoided the situation. Instead Liddell was forced to fight Jackson, Overeem and Metzger. Sure is he had have beaten Jackson he likely would have got the fight but it didn’t happen.
Also recently in the Pride USA Presser they had some guy on the stage going on about how the UFC guys were ducking Pride fighters. He specifically stated that Tim Sylvia was offered a fight against Fedor and he turned it down. That was total crap and Syvlia was offered nothing along those lines.
Pride is just trying to garner the UFC fans attention so they’ll start looking into guys like Wanderlei Silva and Fedor so when it comes time to hold the Pride USA show some UFC fans will crossover and purchase the pay-per-view.
Lidell lost to Jackson at Pride in 03 and Silva beat Jackson twice - the second time by knocking him unconscious half out of the ring in the 2nd round. Silva is even better than he was in 03 - great defense. He even recovered from Mark Hunt’s shots to his jaw.
Silva does not usually win by kicking or kneeing a downed opponent. He wins his fights in the clinch and with devastating strikes. Silva will destroy Lidell. His striking is almost as accurate, his clinch is better, his wrestling is better, his submissions are better, and his aggression is unmatched. Further, his stamina is better. He has to train to fight 10 minute rounds. Sliva by knockout. The guy even beat cro-cop, even though it was an offical draw after 5 rounds under modified rules that favored cro-cop in Pride 20. Silva can stand with the best heavyweight strikers in the business and there is no way he will be as stupid as Sobral was in UFC 61. Silva at the top of the 205 pound food chain.
how can you be so sure iceman would loose to the axe murder?> turns out he got beat. so much for your opinion. i hope you don’t bet on these fights with money. You would be broke. Just because rampage beat iceman and Silva beat rampage doesn’t mean that Silva will beat iceman..as proved in UFC 79

I personally would love to see this fight happen. But the fight that I really cant wait for and have not heard anything about it is Liddell vs. Jackson. I know that Rampage signed with WFA now and can actually fight agaist Liddell now.
I hope this fight can happen sometime next year.
If this fight happens say goodbye to liddell’s winning streak. Silva is just to good of a fighter to fall into liddell’s game I think that silva wins by knockout in the second round .
I think it all comes down to with MMA rules the fight would take place under. If the fight is under UFC rules, Silva won’t have stomps or kicks to a downed opponent. Those are two of his biggest weapons. I don’t think you can say Silva has better standup punching than Liddell. He does have better Muay Thai, of course. If its under Pride rules, its a whole different story.

Speaking of Wand.. he is so down to earth and approachable, I am on his Myspace friends list right, so I email him and ask him about his clothing line, you know bringing it here…. swear, within 24 hours he himself emailed me back, said yeah was thinking about that too, thanks for the suggestion, and not 2 hours later he sends out a mass poll asking what everyone on his myspace thinks about him bringing the clothing line over from Brazil, with photos and everything, its like this guy really listens to his fans man..

Alright guys on here are talking about Chuck getting a lot better, yet they seem to forget as the years pass Silva has also gotten a lot better. I love the sport, MMA isn’t about sh*t talking and at the end of the day every fighter should respect the other. However have you seen Silva fight? ….. stomping on the ground?… Clearly anyone who says this technique is one of Silva’s primary weapons doesn’t know what he is talking about. Silva continuously knocks guys out standing on his feet, even when fighting with heavy weight kickboxers. There is something wrong with the man, he’s like a mad pitbull sitting across the ring waiting to kill you. Chuck is an awsome fighter, but he’s far from the best in the world. Chuck has the best take down defense in the game, it’s almost impossible to shoot in at him, however….. when have we ever seen Silva shoot in at anyone? Never. He stands there and slugs it out, ocassionally he waits for his opponents to stand up, so he can slug them some more. In the second fight with Jackson, Silva was saved by the bell, considering he was on the ground and getting kneed to the head…. a game chuck isn’t familiar with. Silva is in better shape.. Silva hits a lot better… faster… etc… Chuck just has that dangerous right arm. If Silva sits there and slugs it with him…. he might loose chucks right arm is deadly as we’ve seen in tons of fights… however…. if Silva is smart and avoids that right arm…..Chuck is in for an *** whoopin.
Mike Cro Cop is one of the best strikers of the world, if not the best. If Liddell was to fight Cro Cop he probably wouldn’t get pass the first minute. Liddell has not fought real good strikers. Like silva has fought Cro Cop Twice, and Mark hunt once. But, since the UFC is protecting Liddell as much as possible, they would never let him fight those fighters because they know he would get his *** beat down.
Well to no ones surprise Dana white canceled the fight between liddell and silvia. Personaly I cant blame him, Hughes, Franklin and of course Chuck Liddell are the face of UFC. After the rampage fight Liddell and White were embaressed; UFC has made great strides in popularity, however it doesnt match Pride. Pride sells out arenas with 80,ooo fans. To see Liddell beat in front of his own fans would be horrible. To get the hardcore MMA fans respect, the UFC will have to fight Pride. Personally a Fedor vs Tim Sylvia fight would be probable, or even Gomi stepping up in weight vs Hughes. I think its a shame that the UFC won’t venture out and fight other coalitions. If the fight with Silvia and Liddell ever happens, Silvia would beat Liddell. Silvia’s stricking is on par with Liddell, and hie elbow and knee stricking is far superior, since neither wants to get on the ground you would have to say the dirty boxing aspect would be in Silvias favor. Liddell is a poor mans rampage, and you seen what rampage did to Silvia. Pride is a superior fighting league.
A fight is a fight in an sense. You can’t underestimate Wanderlie Silva because he’s a very aggressive fighter and he can take shots. You can’t judge a fight simply because another fighter beat another fighter etc etc.. (Ok he lost to Cro Cop, but real fighters lose and come back!)
Sakuraba lost to Wanderlie who Lost Vitor who Lost to Sakuraba who Beat Quinton Jackson who beat Chuck and lost to Wanderlie. Different fighters bring different styles and you can’t always predict fights with top notch fighters. What I would like to see if Chuck VS Cro cop ..that’s would be a great fight. Wanderlie and Chuck is a great match and saying Chuck would crush Wanderli is wrong. You never know what can happen.

i agree with almost everything you said Joe. I think cro cop is too big for chuck, but the chuck-silva is the perfect match, for the same reason you said, nobody knows what would happen, im a long time silva fan, and i would like to see him win, but i think chuck would win.
Reminds me of the Hughes vs Gracie, i wanted royce to win, after seeing him manhandle Dan severn in the early UFCs giving up like 90 pounds of weight.. I thought he would have done better vs hughes.. its just another example of how the UFC is breeding a new level of fighting standards.
Iceman is a good fighter but there is no way he could ever match up to Wanderlei Silva. If Mark Hunt can’t knock Wanderlei out, Iceman sure the hell won’t. On the ground I think it could go either way and probably will threwout the fight. Neither will submit each other on the ground. And on the feet it will be a slugfest with Wanderlei coming out on top punching Iceman around.. Iceman will land a few (and has a wicked punching game) but he could never match Wanderlei punching skills.. Neither will knockout each other out and it will go to the judges with Wanderlei winning.. But I do believe if it was pride rules Wanderlei would win later in the rounds by knockout.. He can just do more damage in pride with his kicking while down/stomping and better knees.. He could do more damage on Iceman with those three things, put him a bad condition so when they where on there feet again he would knock Iceman out or the ref would stop it… I just hope this fight happens.. I have been hoping for this fight for a few yrs now and am so glad its almost happening.. The only thing better then this is a straight out ufc belt holders vs prides best… I think ufc fans and ufc fighters would be in for a surprise of the superior more talented fighters in pride.. Wanderlei Silva aka The Axe Murder is the best there is right now and will be a legend in the mma world forever. He’s in one of the best fights camps there is, he’s by far in better physical condition, he’s all around the best!! It will be nice to see Chuck Liddell lose.
i think it easy silva is the most crazy fighter in a long time, liddell doesnt stand to much of a chance in less the right hand hits the chin of silva then there could be a ko.for the ufc but dont think we will see that.i hope they do fight.
If u think Wanderlei is the best out there, go review his fight with Tito. Tito won the fight, and is nowhere near the best. In my opinion Lidell has a more than good enough chance to beat Silva. Silva might be better on the ground, but Lidells takedown defence is too good. As for hands, Silva is too wild and Lidell is a great counter puncher. So for those who think Silva will just walk through Lidell, think again. On another subject, pridefc and the ufc both have great mma fighters. In my opinion Frank Shamrock is still one of the best out there and he fights for neither orginization at the moment. So until these orginizations start facing each other, lets just say pridefc vs ufc,its dumb to say that one has more superior fighters.
ok honestly, anybody who thinks that silva has even the slightest chance against chuck obviously doesnt follow mma as close as they think. Sure i will agree that silva is good, but there isnt a 205 pounder in the world that can come close to what chuck can do. If you dont believe me watch all his fights again. Forget about trying to fight chuck on the ground because it just wont happen. Randy Couture was the best in the world at take downs and he couldnt come close, except the one time he kinda did in their last fight for like 2 seconds before chuck got up and retired him. After chucks last fight with renato sobral he said that if he fought silva he would knock him out in the first round. He wasnt being arrogant about it either, he was telling the truth. Chuck is being so potected by the UFC president Dana White. He is their poster boy. They will not let him fight Wanderlei because of the severe beating he would take. Wanderlei would send a message to the UFC faithful that some of the most amazing fighters are fighting in Japan. The two organizations need to get together with some sort of contract so that we could see who is truly the best fighters in MMA. Who would not like to see guys like Cro cop and Emiliananko going against the UFC guys? Who cares about Tito and chuck again when we get so freaking excited about Liddell and Silva. It is complete bull that they are not fighting in November!

Chuck liddell would knock out wanderlei. His accuurate counter punching would get through wand’s wild swings. sure he recovers fast, but that is when someone tries to mount wanderlei and unintentionally gives him a chance to recoup on the floor. chuck will let wand get up and rock him a few more times before being put out cold. 1st or 2nd round ko for chuck. If you dont think so, look at chuck vs. babalul, couture, vitor, tito. Look at wanderlei vs. tito, crocop, and hunt. Liddells punches dont look technically sound, but they are accurate and they are heavy!
ay man, i said it many times, this is nearly an evenly matched fight! i also give the edge to chuck tho i love to watch wand fight! and hes one of my fav fighters of all time.
After that scene at pride the real deal with wand again calling out chuck and saying hes running and hiding, I think its only a matter of time now before this fight happens. I say its 100% unless one of the guys gets injured or something, very doubtful that it would happen in february, but bickering about money and rules and titles will not stop this fight from happeneing!!!! These two juggernaughts are gonna meet, its inevitable! and in the end, someone is getting knocked out, no matter what the outcome, i will be happy for both contestants, and they will exchange respect. Two great warriors who never make excuses after losing man, for me this is the most anticipated fight in mma history.
Just a few weeks ago I would’ve agreed with the majority, but after a thorough review of Pride it’s my honest opinion; Silva would destroy Chuck. I hate to say it, but it’s true. When you want to be the best in the U.S.A. you fight in the U.F.C.; When you want to be the best in the world, you fight in Pride. Silva’s losses in the UFC came early in his career. He’s 100 times better now. Belfort may have beat him in 44 seconds, but couldn’t even earn a chance to fight him in Pride. Silva vs. Ortiz 2 would last 20 seconds and would be Silva’s quickest knockout ever. As an American, it hurts to know the truth which is Pride is far superior to the UFC. To the above writer that said “Silva’s standup is too wild, look at Chuck’s fights and you will clearly see that his strikes are too wild. Chuck barely beat Overeem, who is average in Pride. Dana White is protecting Chuck, and for good reason. Dana has recently made a good decision by signing Anderson Silva, who absolutely destroyed Rich Franklin. Anderson Silva, in the UFC, can only improve the UFC stable. If White is smart, he will continue to sign Pride guys as their contracts expire.

Brad is completely right on all accounts. Chuck is an AMAZING striker, but that is against sub-par opponents in the UFC. There is no one like silva and he is a totally different fighter than he was in the past. To be honest, I just want to see the fight. If chuck destroys him, then so be it I was wrong. I just don’t really care about the outcome, I just want to see that fight!
Liddell, sorry to say, is not as good as everyone sees him as. Hell yea, he’s a poster boy. He can fight, that’s for sure, but against real strikers and fighters out there that know how to take a heavy *** punch and throw a harder one after it, he doesnt have a chance.

well first off chuck is nowhere as good of a fighter as silva is… silva has better teqnique and more skill then chuck silva fights against the best he dosent fight against the same over and over again… he ventures and finds something harder and tougher to test his skill.. liddel he is a good fighter but he isnt aggresive or crazy as silva is.. silva will ko chuck first round end of story…. also fedor vs arlovski and tim silvia there’s not even a fight there fedor will ko them both without a doubt … arlovski has a glass chin first round fedor will ko him, silvia is a sloppy fighter and well end up getting ko also… so is a pride vs. ufs (10-0) pride:10 - ufc:1

I think Chuck is a good fighter, I think people are under-estimate him becasue he is going up against the Axe Murder. Even though his style is not as clean or nice as wand’s fighting style. He has proven him self over and over again.. In the other hand Wanderlei is a accurate, deadly, strong, and fast force to be reckon with… I think Chuck will have a chance to win if he gets in one of those damn lucky punches, but fighter for fighter wanderlei should be able to pwne him pretty good, though I think chuck will give him some comp…. In the other hand Cro-cop vs. chuck…. easy call… hands down mirko takes the win..
The reason why chuck didnt fight silva in pride is because he didnt advance past jackson. it was a tournament for the idiot up top that said pride had a chance to set up silva liddell but liddell got manhandled. and for those who say he would destroy jackson now your fooling yourself. chuck was 34 then when he fought jackson even that is about a couple years after your prime if anything he lost a step. he is not near the physical shape silva is in nor has the knockout power that silva has. silva took mark hunt to a split and hunts hits are about 2 thousand times more powerful than chuck. for anyone that saw the jackson match it was no fluke it was total domination for 2 rounds and i would put my money on liddell getting ko’d by silva in the 1st.

I think this is the first UFC in awhile that I am not going to order! It pisses me off that the Silva vs. Liddel fight is not going to happen so they put Tito up against Chuck…. I could care less if Tito gets knocked the $#@% out by Chuck again. Pride and Ufc should come to some sort of an agreement and make a ton of cash on a pay per view event. Have cro cop, emilianko, silva, jackson,Liddel,ortiz, st.pierre all those guys going at it so that us true MMA fans can see who TRULY is the greatest fighters. A lot of good points have been made and that fight is inevitable. Its gona happen but look at the truth wand fights with the top fighters and it doesn’t matter what weight class he trains for a ten min round. He doesn’t really rely on kicking a downed opponent his fights are mainly stand up games. He utilizes more of his body in fights. Of course wand beat jackson who lost to wand. But u can’t really compare other fights cuz if that was the case chuck beat kevin randlemen who kicked crocops *** the first time in a striking game and crocop beat silva splitting him open the second time they fought. I can’t really say the other is gona win all I know this is gona be a badass fight when it happens and I’m routing for wand! If u wana b the best in the u.s. the bottom line is that sylvia against liddel would be a great fight, they are both excellent fighters with deadly punches.I think that this fight would go the distance, maybe even decided by decision. if it didnt go the distance then i think sylvia would come out on top because he is a pitbull, lidell is good but definetley is not in the condition that the axe murder is. Sylvia is younger and is just plain bad to the bone. sylvia fought ortiz when he was young and should have beaten him but ortiz ran for his life around the ring and then kept grabbing sylvia and bringing him to the ground to wrestle because ortiz couldnt do anything else.sylvia should have won the fight but american judges gave the decision to ortiz.i bet you ortiz wouldnt fight him again. pride fighters are definetly the best fighters in the world and if you think different then you know nothing about this sport.wand sylvia is a axe murderer and may be one of the baddest *** fighters on this earth. p.s. wand would kill someone like mike tyson.

if wanderlai fights chuck with the same lack of discipline and restraint that he did cro cop, i don’t think he will win. Silva has the power and agression nescesary to beat chuck, but i believe it will ( or would) come down to technique and accuracy. Assuming this would be a standing fight, the winning fighter will be the more patient, careful and focused striker. ( not the fighter with the hardest hay maker)

I just saw the fight between Silva and Cro Cop, interesting but never a real fight. The accuracy Cro Cop has is in a different league than both Silva and Chuck. I would like to see a fight between Cro Cop and Chuck just for the sake of degradeing UFC.

Liddell would win. I’ve watched both fight 5+ times. Wanderlei is an animal and has knockout power, but Liddell is a great counter-striker. I think Silva’s style would play right into Liddell hands. Also, Liddell has an amazing chin - the guy eats people’s best punches and goes on as though nothing even happened. I’ve seen Silva’s knockouts - the guy needs to land several punches to put people away. Liddell consistantly puts people to sleep with just one hit. I think it would be a brawl - Liddell would eat several good punches but I think he’d eventually land that one hit that would put Silva to sleep. Either fight can win, no doubt, but I think Liddell would have the best chance.

I am getting a kick out of reading peoples opinions in this site. I would love to see the but heads who call either chuck or wanderlei down step in the ring with either of them to get their asses kicked. I think that the bottom line is the rule differences. My buddies dad told him when he was younger that if he were to get in a fight that it is for real no rules and no one there to protect him. I just started watching pride fighting and to be honest I love it man. The more rules that you start applying to the fighting game the less natural it becomes. I would love to see chuck and wanderlei fight under pride rules and I would love to see chuck get his *** kicked but truely before the fight takes place we will all place our opinions without truely knowing who would win. Chuck has been at the top in the UFC light heavyweight division for a long time and that is the reason I would like to see him get his *** kicked, Tito tried his best tonight and failed.
Now about gsp being at the top in my opinion i couldn’t agree more. Gsp was able to throw bj penn on the ground while hughes could harldly do anything with penn and couldn’t throw him on the ground let me repeat COULD NOT put bj down. When gsp and hughes fought it was like watching a non-ranking amateur against a top ranked professional. If gsp and bj were to fight again it probably would not pass the first round because gsp has improved so much.

Chuck already fought in pride once and won , looking not very good doing it. Second time he fought in Pride he looked like he didn’t even have a clue what fighting was. Chuck only looks good in UFC because he fights in UFC against medioric MMA fighters.

MY OPINION, YOU CANT SEPERATE THEM BUT I MUST ADMIT SILVA HAS BEEN IN WITH THE BEST OF THEM HOWEVER 205 SEEMS LIGHT ON QUALITY IN UFC (HENCE ALL THE REMATCHES!!) PERSONALLY ID LOVE TO SEE CRO COP vs FRANKLYN AND SEE HOW WELL FRANKLYN RESPONDS TO BEING BEATEN BADLY BY A. SILVA.
First I want to talk about T. Silvia - has their ever been a more boring fighter to watch? Hopefully Mirko will get a shot at T. Silvia and and take his head off.
Wand v. Chuck - I have been waiting for this fight for years - and I think it will eventually happen, but we the fans will just have to continue to wait. When it comes to the UFC I’m a Chuck fan, when it comes to Pride I’m a Silva fan - When comparing these two fighters you cant look at who has beaten who - a fight comes down to styles. Wand will come out on top when these two meet. Both fighters have knockout power - but Wand is a much more well rounded fighter - his ability to use hands/elbows/knees have continually proven to be devastating on his opponents. Chucks sprawl is one of the best out there - but when is the last time you saw Wand shoot on someone? He will take a fighter down from the clinch though . We have all seen Wand take a beating and keep coming, but when is the last time Chuck fought someone that really gave him a good fight? That will come when these two step into the ring - and Wand will be the one with his hand raised at the end.
Well honestly, if you look at these two fighters (chuck-wanderlei) and you look at their stand up game closely, they both have kinks in the armor. In looking at wanderlei every time that he has been rocked it is because he has caught a straight right/left, mainly because wandy does not generate his puching power in the same manner as chuck does so when wandy throws his punches he throws them looping, barrage type puches in a REALLY fast manner. Dont get me wrong when he throws his punches he brings them from the side with power behind them, but it leaves him open in the middle. That is evident when he fought dan hendersen, marko cro cop 2, and tito 1. Now when looking on how chuck throws his punches he is square, and he plants and throws straight punches most of the time generating power how you are supposed to. But after his punches it can leave him open to a wanderlei left/right, that sentKazushi Sakuraba to the canvas. But Chuck has knock out power in both hands, and he had a very long reach so he is able to leave himself open like he does not . But then so does wanderlei And i never seen chuck get rocked from a punch not even when he fought rampage and rampage basically destroyed him. That is why he switched stances to how he fights now . So truthfully i do not know who would win this fight. I honestly dont think it is a good fight for neither fighters. But if i had to choose i would choose chuck because he will keep his distance from Wanderlei’s aggressive style and chuck will use that long reach like he displayed so marvelously against Jeremy Horn in their second fight . And the thing that will also benifit chuck is he is PATIENT!!!!. And they say patience is a virtue, so when wanderlei comes after chuck all aggressive like renalto sobral did in there second fight……………………..KNOCKOUT!!!!!!!!! And i bet it will come from a puch that wanderlei wont expect…the middle, the same punch that tito landed that sent wanderlei face first to the canvas!!!! and tito aint even a standup fighter!!!!!!

i dont know if you can say liddell has never faced a well rounded fighter. what about jeremy horn, tito ortiz, randy couture, vitor belfort. i know they are the most well rounded fighter of all time but they all are very good and can hang in most fights where ever they go
All you guys that say Chuck’s a wuz are just plain stupid. Have you been paying attention? Silva’s no slouch either, but remember in UFC you’re not allowed to kick a man behind the head when he’s face down on the mat. You can’t bite, pinch, pull hair & scratch either.
So here’s the dividing line….. rules!
In UFC, Chuck knocks out Silva in the first round.
In Pride, Silva agressively grabs Chucks leg, then his groin, bites his arm, scratches his belly, & pulls down his shorts. When Chuck bends over to pull up his shorts, Silva shoots taking Chuck to the ground where he can stomp Chucks groin 6 or 7 times, then kick him in the head while he’s on the mat, poke him in the eye, bend back his fingers. After ignoring several warnings, the fight is finally stopped because Chuck can no longer defend his groin.
when vitor belfort fought wanderlei, that fight right there proves my statements correct that i listed above on why wanderlei should not beat chuck!!!!!! I think that fight was 44 seconds in the first round that wanderlei got ko’d, now im not saying that wanderlei cant win against chuck, but if chuck switches to the chuck that fought jeremy horn then he should when if he delivers straight rights or lefts to wanderlei. If i were chuck i would capitalize on wanderlei constant faking in and give in a straight jab that could rock him early and set up for a big finish, but then again wanderlei has great recovery skill as he showed in the tito fight and in the dan henderson fight, but chuck wont let silva grab him, but we will se how wanderlei responds to dan henderson in this next fight in feb.
lol straightt up…liddell will not be able to handle silva…everyone talks about how he he lost to ortiz and chuck knocked out ortiz…first of all if any of you actually watched the fight youd see that tito litereally ran away from Silva the whole match, and only won cause of his take downs, and the ufc point scoring system, he didnt “beat” wanderlei, he was too scared to even trade hands with him, if he did it would;ve been an even worse outcome then liddell vs ortiz 1&2. Now, when liddel fought rampage, it was an amazing fight, and it could;ve gone both ways untill the latter part of the fight, when chucks game just got compeletely dismantled, and his power punches, kicks, and everything he had became obsolete. Rampage distroyed his life…now when rampage fought silva..in both matched rampage had no chance, and was beaten on all levels. his striking became obsolete, his take downs same thing, all his defenses were taken away, he had no chance, and infact was lucky, because if it went any longer, he would be in serrious trouble. Chuck always fights within his own weight class..Silva fights heavy weaights and beats the crap outta them…look at the calibre of fighters Silva has taken out, and the way he finished all his matches compared to those of liddel, for the most part you cant even compare. Chuck liddell has never faced an opponent with the skill and furiousity of wanderlei silva. liddell is the champ so ill give him the respect that he deserves, and i think he will do some what well, but in the end hes going to get knocked out, or beatin to a bloody pulp with a ref stoppage, like all his matches..
UFC cannot touch pride…pride has better fighters, better organization, and pride fighters are used to 10 min rounds , as opposed to 5 min
