Pride Fighting Championship has announced a few new fights for their upcoming USA debut on October 21. In addition to the already announced fights of Fedor vs. Mark Coleman and Shogun vs. Kevin Randleman, the following fights have been officially added:
- Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Marvin Eastman
- Joey Villasenor vs. Robbie Lawler
- Dan Henderson vs. Vitor Belfort
- Mark Hunt vs. Butterbean
- Josh Barnett vs. Pawel Nastula
It’s good to see Robbie Lawler finally back in one of the “major” shows. His fight with Joey Villasenor should be excellent. Also, the Dan Henderson vs. Vitor Belfort fight could be outstanding if Belfort comes prepared to fight. And what is the deal with “Butterbean”? Why does this guy continue to get signed to fights? Isn’t Mark Hunter better than that? They have to throw a junk fight at him?

YES! Very cool that Lawler is signed to fight on this card.
MArk Hunt deserves better than this. This one of the worst possible fights a fighter could take. Kind of like fighting Shannon Rich. The guy has reputation for being a sideshow joke, but still has the potential to Knock you The F*ck Out. Butterbean has serious KO power and the ring exp to give anyone a nap on the canvas… espeacially if someone is going to stand in front of him, which I suspect Hunt will do. This is a great card, a card only Pride has the ability to produce. Though I’m somewhat afraid this is not going to be the ace in the hole that they hope it will.
