My name is Jen Grad and I work in the photo department at Sports Illustrated. Do you have any photographs of Evan Tanner or know anyone that may? I am especially interested in the photograph posted on your website of him outdoors.
Thank you,

to assume that Evan screwed up in his supply choices because he was drunk is a little much dont you think? do you think he jumped up off the couch one day, staggered over to the closet, grabbed a handful of stuff and said "Im going camping, bye!" and stumbled off into the desert? if you do a little bit of reading you'll find he had been planning this trip for a bit and knew what he was doing, one man can only carry so much stuff and the problem was more likely a miss calculation in what was needed and less likely a drunken mistake. the point is that it really sucks that Evan Tanner is gone and any speculation about how he may have caused his own demise is pretty well irrelevant and could easily be seen as disrespectful. its probably better to keep opinions like that to yourself because #1 it wont bring him back and #2 wont help anyone feel and better about it.

My appologies if you felt I was being disrespectful. I certainly always liked Evan Tanner and loved watching him fight...I'm sure he was a great guy.

I just cant see how someone would drive off into the dessert on a motorcycle with little gas, unless they were intoxicated...and you know alcohol dehydrates you...not a desired effect trying to walk back in the over 100 degree sun. I'm not saying he was drinking, I am just saying it would make sense if he had been, given the circumstances.

Regardless of whether or not he had been drinking, it still appears to me to have been a foolish mistake that costed his life...and I feel that way even though I respect him...and all of you.

Its just an opinion, nothing personal.

I think the MMA's world has lost one of a kind. I followed Evan's path since his first appearance in the UFC. An amazing fighter! A man of great courage and determination inside, and must likely outside the octagon too. He will be missed.

My sympathy goes out to all his family members, as well as to his fans around the world. What a terrible lost.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
See you there Evan.

Well that was pretty much the stupidest comment I've read in a while. Considering this picture was taken two years ago, long before his recent come back.

I guess the poster was right in questioning what kind of training includes beer. I'm sure he would have loved a glass of water walking back from the middle of the dessert.

RIP - EVAN TANNER
