Sherdog.com editor Josh Gross is reporting that Fedor Emelianenko has agreed to a March 3 fight on a BodogFIGHT card to take place in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Fedor currently has one fight remaining on his contract with PrideFC and is scheduled to fight Mark Hunt on Pride’s new years eve event.
While a clause in Emelianenko’s current deal allows the Russian to compete in his home country, one Bodog source indicated that the well-financed company intends to sign Fedor to a long-term deal.
Considering Bodog’s working relationship with Fedor’s Red Devil Fight Team, from which eight fighters will compete on bodogFIGHT’s initial pay-per-view Saturday in Vancouver, this revelation is not all that surprising.
The current rumor is that Fedor will fight former UFC heavyweight title contender Jeff Monson.

right now im watching usa vs russia that has been alright but no elbows what the **** and the girl fight was awesome it still gots four more fights so it can still be something to talk about but bodog fights has had three fights booed already
i just watched the bodog ppv and i have to say no elbows wtf when they go down theycan only punch which leads to really nothing there was about 3 fights that got booed and onegot there viewer championship was one of those fights all in all i only enjoyed about three fights on one of them was a women fight it had a lot more action than most of the fights it was a waste of my money
I also wasted my money on the Bodog fight. I wanted to call it a night after the first 4 fights. what level are these guys, because I can goto my local gym and watch a bunch of beginners fight. The Chic fight was pretty good and the super fight with Gracie but the 2 1/2 hours in between killed me. Never again for me with Bodog. Good job promoting though, you had me fooled. One more thing, who the hell was that chic with the microphone. I wanted to mute my tv everytime she came out. Bodog reminds me a lot of what Vince McMahon did to football. Bodog is the UFC’s XFL. 2nd rate fighters with a bunch of side entertainment like bands and some bikini’s. Enjoy it now, because it wont last.
just read that cro crop might sign to the ufc since he gots on mor fight on his contract maybe the ufc is going to try to do there best to get the fights we want to see in 07 and 08 like they said in there premier of inside the ufc.
i mean one more
crocop in the ufc would kick much ***. but……who?
crocop vs. ????? who would you like to see?
I’d like to see Crocop destroy Tim Sylvia he’s no where near the complete fighter Crocop is. Tim is getting a little to comfortable with the belt someone needs to kick his ***!! The problem lies after that though. Arlovski and Vera seem to be the only real decent heavies the UFC has. I don’t see either of them beating Crocop.
I will fight cro cop. Wont be much of a fight though. I think i would last as long as Sylvia, a whole kick to the body before i double over and die, 20 seconds into the first round.
On a serious note though… Does anyone see how much Sylvia sticks his leading leg out when hes akwardly rocking back and forth hunched over? lets say cro cop kicked that leg 5+ times. It would be so shocking to any fighter the effects of a kick like that can have on someone who has been “dominating the ‘world heavyweight’ title”.
For would be naysayers, lets change it then, how about a kick to the body? i know, i know, Sylvia and his washboard rippling abs would probably break his foot clean off. not to mention his agility to tactically manouver around these kicks.
bottom line, a guy who can deliver that much damage to Fedor and take the punishment Fedor gave him and still not quit until the bell sounded has already put himself at another skill level that Sylvia cant reach.
As for Vera, i think that he cant beat someone like Mirko NOW. but he gets better and better everytime. Time is definatelty on Veras side.
As for Arlovski, i honestly dont know what to think about it. He is a great fighter. In my opinion its too hard to predict an Andre vs Mirko until you have seen them actually do it. If i were going to place money, it would be on Mirko though.
sylvia no question a knock out vera come on we all know 8 fights aint going to cut it nomatter how good hes getting he still has a long way to go to be at a cro crop or fedor a long way and any body that wants to argue u cant compare the fights with the fights they have been in so that match if it happens any time between a year or year and a half will be a knockout i think vera is getting a little to hyped up and might ending up being a nate quarry but any ways mirko goes to ufc heavyweight champ in 3or less fights
Richard…
Nobody ever said Vera could beat Mirko.
“As for Vera, i think that he cant beat someone like Mirko NOW. but he gets better and better everytime.” -MoneyMax
Your logic is retarded. Why do you think that Vera can’t beat Sylvia in 12 - 18 months from now? But he could in 19+ months from now? Does Sylvia have some disease we all don’t know about that makes time a factor and not experience or training?
“8 fights aint going to cut it nomatter how good hes getting…”-Richard
A guy with a win/loss ratio of less than 4-1 can come to UFC, have one fight and then demolish a title holder in a few minutes.
“vera is getting a little to hyped up”-Richard
Rightfully so, he has never lost and everyone after his first fight, can’t even make it past the first round with him. You want to talk about hype, remember how much people were saying about Anderson Silva when he beat Leben? He was hyped up and people with your logic chimed in talking about “18 months until”, and “he needs at least 4 more fights”, blah blah. And now look at him.
I’d like to see Arlovski and Vera get it on. That may put to rest the hype theory. Even though Tim is the current champ I still consider Arlovski the better fighter. I’m sure someone will bring up the two losses in a row but the first win was luck and the second win was Tim doing his fight not to lose bull. If Vera can put down the pitbull in convincing fashion he will silence the naysayers and be a true title contender. It’s good to see some new life in the heavyweight division.
thats right mad, thats what i said in that other thread, Vera vs Arlovski, that should have been the fight. You have a matchup like that, it doesnt even matter that its not a title fight. Then the winner fights Sylvia, an the loser fights the champ.
Id like to see fedors bro come into the UFC heavyweight division, im sure he could shake things up and force the UFC to try and sign more world class heavyweight fighters.
It sucks cuz these guys are beating their brains out, an theyre not getting paid like what world class boxers were getting paid. Forget about baseball.. MMA fighters should be the highest paid athletes.. They deserve it if anyone does!
moneymax ur taking my timeline to literral[i cant spell] its not specific r u going to tell me that vera has beat any one is his long career that makes u say wow [and i dont mean by ko i mean a good fighter and not mir]and the fights hes had in the ufc have been agianst guys that were not determined as he is but when he goes up against a stronger bigger tim sylvia and he has to reach up and try to get tim to come down for a vera knee he will eat a big right hand then a left and maybe a right even thought i hate sylvia i think he will knock out vera and after that we wont see vera in the ufc for a while now i appreciate your feedback on my oppinion and ill try not to be so specific next time and give general opinions but i dont see vera being champ now and i think hes getting rushed and u must think that a little just a little and i dont think im retarded im special
im sure vera has the skills to take on sylvia, he still comin in the underdog on paper, but still, jus because he has the skills, doesnt mean he should get a title shot.. i just think he should go through arlovski first.
Haha I’m sorry Richard if you thought i was calling you retarded. I woudl never do that.
Bottom line, Sylvia has been getting too comfortable where he is. I do think that Sylvia is a GOOD fighter. But on paper he would appear to be a GREAT fighter, which he isn’t. I really do think that UFC has a gap to fill in the heavyweight division when it comes to GREAT fighters.
This goes for Vera too, he is in no way a GREAT fighter. I just think that Sylvias improvements are leveling off and Vera is getting noticeably better every time, so time is on Veras side is all I am saying.
ill agree with u and now that all these big name guys being free agents cro crop fedor maybe we might see tim getting knocked out soon
Can you imagine how insane heavyweight fights will be if UFC can pick these guys up, combine their level of fight, with UFCs hype and it will be CRAZY!!!
Now that it seems the UFC has Quiton and Heath Herring from their acquisition of WFA we may see some huge matchups coming soon. I read Crocop has pulled out of Prides new years event due to his recent sergery still healing. He stated that he has made a discission regarding his future contract and will make an announcement soon. The UFC has made him some serious offers so one can hope they were able to bring him in. With Jackson in the UFC Chuck should get to try to avenge his lost to him he suffered in Pride. Though that’s easier said than done it does bring another top level opponent to the light heavy seen. The way things are going here lately it seems Tim and Chuck will have some stiff competition very soon. I don’t see Tim holding on to his belt much longer but Chuck will have the opprotunity to solidify himself as the top light heavy weights around. Since it doesn’t seem the Silva vs Liddell will happen anytime soon the Jackson fight has to be the second best matchup available. It’s fun as MMA fans to see what starting to unfold. I guess Dana was telling the truth about aggresively persuing top talent even if it means buying the competition.
Max, I agree with you about Sylvia not being a GREAT fighter, hes a GOOD fighter and hes Big and Strong and Tough. Theres Definately a shortage of GREAT fighters in the UFC heavyweight division, id love to see some more talent, looks like we might get it hehe. About Sylvias progress, i dunno man, i wouldnt say Sylvias levelling off really.. From when he first came to the UFC he was a beast, taking out bigger guys, like cabbage and gan mcgee and always losing by submission. These days, hes no expert grappler, but hes learned to defend hiself alot better on the ground. Besides not trying to end the fight and get a KO, i was really impressed with his ground game vs monson. The fact that he didnt get submitted when monson got him down says it all.
About Vera, hes awesome man, he got unlimited potential. He could become a GREAT fighter, or he could flop like many others before him. I think he will make it, he looks like he loves his job hehe
all i got to say is vera?sylvia? cro crop is coming
You are so correct…(source MMA on Tap)

UFC Picks Up Mirko “Cro Cop†Filipovic
Sherdog and MMAWeekly are reporting that PRIDE heavyweight star Mirko “Cro Cop†Filipovic has made up his mind and chosen to test his skills in the UFC.
Sherdog mentioned that “Cro Cop’s†debut would come against undefeated heavyweight prospect Jake O’Brien who is 8-0 and 1-0 in the UFC.

Fedor destroys all…… Cro Cop is second best, and would take out anyone in UFC
Good call Chase Lee. I agree
Tim steps into every fight as the under dog. He steps out holding that belt. I honestly believe Tim could stand with anyone out there. He knows his weakness and is always improving. He is a good fighter, maybe not the most the out-going personality in the game, but one h**l of a fighter.
As for not a lady’s man??? Bull… He is vary handsom. He is a moutain of a man and presents himself as being shy. That is really just as **** as Chuck’s hard-*** personality. Neither of those men have to stand and talk s**t to present themsleves as strong men. They both stand on their feet and walk out as champs. That is **** enough to turn any woman’s head.
I don’t believe Tim tries to excite anyone… He is just there to do his job, kick some a** and go home. Fans can only talk about the way they believe things to be… Tim can only continue to prove them wrong!
tims fan u got to change ur name tim is one of the sorriest champs the ufc has ever had and as the ufc starts getting better talent we will see tim fall dont u ever why tim is always the under dog its because hes sorry for being 6′8b 255lbs he should be knocking people out but he doesnt cuz he loves that god damn belt so much i think hes lost his heart on fighting and just likes to jack himself off while hes wearing his belt.
sylvia needs to go! a very big part of fighting is to try and WIN the fight!!! i cant understand why anyone would want to watch OR be a part of a fight that one guy doesnt really fight. sylvia needs to lose that belt and maybe it would make him want to fight again. he was never that great of a fighter. but come on when you hold a title you HAVE to be involved in good matches. you are representing your weight class, your company, your self, and your sport! i can only guess about how much pressure is involved in his case but show some pride and fight man!
p.s. we need cro cop to show the unknowing north american fans how a heavy gets down!!!!!
I totally agree that Tim Sylvia isnt putting on any kind of show when he defends his belt. Poor Munson is only five feet eight inches, how the hell is is supposed to even touch Sylvia. Cro cop is going to get a title shot in a few fights after running over the competiton and give Sylvia a big french kiss after he knocks that yeti on the ground with a leg kick. Stupid *** Joe Rogan said that cro cop could cutt weight and make the 205 class too. Does anyone know anything about this? Im very curious to know if Rogan was just ******* around or telling the truth.
CroCop can cut weight, but hates to do it, so he probably won’t. Liddell better be happy for that. So, he’ll just blow through the HW division instead. UFC is such a joke, I can’t even watch it anymore. Liddell is overrated (great, but overrated) and their HW division is just horrible. Arlovski and Vera are great fighters by UFC standards. However, put them in the ring with the Pride HW’s (Mark Hunt, Big Nog, Josh Barnett, Aleksander Emelianenko, Fabricio Werdum) and they would get eaten alive. Not to mention what Fedor, the greatest fighter who ever lived, would do to anyone in the UFC (or any other league for that matter). UFC fighters are about to get exposed for just how amateurish they are compared to overseas leagues, due to the recent influx of CroCop, Rampage, Herring, and hopefully Little Fedor soon.
U GUYS TALK LIKE CRO COP IS A GOD… PLEASE NO ONE IS UNBEATABLE… WELL SEE HOW GOOD HE DOES…
Fedor Vs. Monson? is that a joke? After watching him fight Sylvia, I think Jeff Monson should give up MMA and stick to his Abu Dhabi.
I agree that noone is unbeatable. Only guy that comes closest to that is Fedor, the best and most complete pound for pound fighter in the world. However, CroCop may be a god compared to the crap that’s in UFC. You’re right….we will see how good he does. He’ll be the HW champ for sure. Then, he just better hope that Little Fedor is the only Emelianenko that entertains coming to UFC.
If I would have heard these comments about a year back, I probably would have disagreed with them. (the ones about pride fighters being so much better). However, I heard os many things about CroCop and Emilaneneko that I had to check them out for myself, and I saw how much devastating and ruthless the Pride fighters are compared to the UFC. Years ago, the UFC was not dominated by anyone in particular but had many foreign fighters (Pedro, Vitor etc.) The last year or so, the UFC started to market themselves now being dominated by these American domestic fighters (Franklin, Hughes, Sylvia) guys who were never really even fighters on a world-class level. But I’m glad to see the fans have spoken and they are bringing in some international legitimate warriors.
You’re absolutely right Amir. I remember saying the same thing to my buddy during UFC 66 (about UFC being dominated by domestic wanna be’s and Reality Show winners). About 2 minutes after I’m saying this, they formally mention the arrival of Jackson, Herring, and Cro Cop. Now it should get interesting.
All you guys that think Chuck is overrated, or a domestic wanna be, should just do one thing…. jump into the octagon with him. You’ll change your story, that is… if you can still talk.
What does it take to prove to you that Chuck has an anvil connected to each wrist? Does he have to floor someone that has a cinder block for a head with over 100 fights without ever being floored? Would that do it for you cynics? Two words….. Jeremy Horn.
