And To the “UFC Only” fans that Dr.J speaks of, Rampage is one of the most OVERRATED fighters in MMA HISTORY.

gatties, I don’t think Rampage would be Chuck, at all. But Rampage definitley will bring some excitement and challenge to a somewhat boring light heavyweight division right now.

The LHW division is anything but boring. Put Rampage on some Fight Night cards and make him work his way up or hell, he’s probably fat now, make him a heavyweight. Thats the division that bores me, not the LHW.

let’s not get into the heavyweights. everyone knows that division is garbage. but i mean come on the LHW is pretty slow as well.

there is plenty of talent in the LHW (unlike the heavyweights) but the division has been b0ring for a while.

just look at that last 5 of chuck’s last 6 fights have been rematches (if you count this coming rematch with Tito). There’s not much excitement in seeing chuck KO the same guys over and over again.

I agree the UFC does need another top light heavy to showcase. Everyone knows Chuck is good and has been the king of the division for quite some time now, but it does get boring seeing him always fight the same guys. Quinton is not overrated as previously stated. They have been showing some Pride fights lately on FSN. They show a fight with Rampage against Richard Arona who is currently the #4 LHW in the world. Quinton was in Arona gaurd and shifted his feet forward and was able to pick the BJJ black belt up over his head and crush him back down to the mat KOing him. That was an exciting fight. I say bring on all the talent they can get their hands on, it only makes for better fights and matchups. Chuck and Tim are going to have their hands full this year. Especially if Crocop decides to drop to light heavy. Then we will see who the best striker really is. Don’t hold your breath on it being Chuck.

you know.. once i saw the comment about forrest and rampage, the first thing i thought was, babalu!! tho gatties said it for me already hehe. Not because hes overrated, but because everyone should have to work their way up, which reminds me.. are we gonna see Forrest vs Babalu anytime soon? that would be interesting!

Rampage will be a force to be reckoned with in UFC, provided he throws a bag on the ground and works on his elbows. Its hard to compare UFC with Pride fighters, since theyre in different organizations with different rules.. its apples and oranges if you ask me.

One things for sure, Rampage will be alot more dangerous in the UFC than pride. Id like to see him at LHW just for the chuck rematch, but everyone knows theres a shortage of talent in the HW division. So i wouldnt really be adverse to seeing him fight there either..

Rampage - Griffin, Rampage - Babalu, Rampage - Tito, i dunno about you guys.. but all i can see is the potential for some GREAT FIGHTS! regardless of who wins, everyone will learn something from that experience.

MAD mentioned Arona, dam! Arona is a beast, besides being one of the best grapplers in the world, mentally hes a warrior, and hes a physical specimen! Id LOOOVE to see Arona in the UFC!!

I remember this abu dhabi fight, this guy kept slapping the back of Aronas neck during the clinch. Everyone knows theres no striking in Abu Dhabi, so Arona slapped him in the face! DAM! i thought it was gonna go down right there! lol and Arona would have knocked his *** out!

alright i hate to be the bad guy but i am rampage with forrest now i think who ever is saying that is jaded by the ultimate fighter show and dont bring up the tito ortiz fight ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh he can defend a take down but rampage is a whole different story and on other level forrest is a B- fighter and rampage is a solid A and when forrest starts going up against a list fighters we will see him start losing so im quoting gatties IM WAITING FOR THE HATING TO BEGIN. oh but i still have all the respect for forrest im just stating facts

For once I 100% disagree with you on all points Doc. The LHW division isn’t stacked like say the WW or LW, but isn’t boring by any stretch either. Hell I think the MW division is much more boring than the LHW.

hehe i mean, if you wan get picky gatties, all the divisions are lacking in my opinion. Some more than others, but really, theres not even close enough fighters for there too be much competition. To the extreme at the HW div. where you got the same 2 guys fighting over and over lol. Its nowhere near the amount of fighters around than in something like boxing.. before mma took over.

There isnt enough guys at Welter or Lightweight either in my opinion.

once they got a real roster of fighters, i mean SIGNED fighters. Not like the lists you see on the UFC website, they list everyone who has ever fought in the UFC not just whos fighting these days. Until then you cant reall have rankings, saying whos the number 1 contender an everything lol. Its pretty pointless when theres only a handful of fighters, forget about ranking, jus match up guys who havent fought each other yet. heh

I mean dont get me wrong, of the guys who they DO have, theres ALOT of talent and potential. No point having 200 guys in the division who all suck lol. It will take time but i think theyre doing it right signing marquee fighters like crocop, and nurturing young up-an-comers like diego.

I think UFC will get it done!

I’m surprised at you Jason for letting your Pride hate cloud your thinking on Rampage. He holds wins over Lindland, Arona, Minowa, Liddell, Bustamante, and Randleman. Those are just in the last 3 years. To say he is over-rated is crazy. If anything he’s slightly under-rated. Do I think he can beat chuck?..No, but he’ll certianly do a lot better than the last 6 fighters. He’s a monster and if he gets a hold of liddel it’s trouble for the iceman.

i just dont get how rampage is over hyped i personnally think vera is overlly hyped rampage has proved to have beaten some of the best in the world i just want to know exactlly why u think he is over hyped?

I wouldnt say Jackson is overrated, i dont think anyone believes him to be “the best” and hes not revered for his godlike martial art skills lol. The simple fact is, the guys a beast man! regardless of skill, incase people havent noticed, theres more to this game than technical skills. Skill or no skill, if your looking at rampage across from you in the octagon, you better bring your A game, hes nobody to sleep on.

Is it gon be Hoger going against Rampage??? lol that sucks man.. but i guess he has to fight someone who isnt ranked very highly before he gets any real matchs. I like that, because it puts him at the same level as other fighters, unlike how they bring some legendary fighters in for one fight, and they let him fight the champ. Like what happened with Royce, im pretty sure at that point in his career Royce wouldnt even have made it up the ladder to fight Hughes.

Then again, it will be kind of interesting to put Rampage against Hoger, we get to see what kind of shape rampage is in, how he holds himself in the octagon, etc. What if he comes in out of shape, gasses in the 2nd an gets KO by Hoger?? then what will people think? good thing they didnt give him a real opponent hehe

Does anyone out there know for sure if there is any truth to an upcoming UFC66 announcement of “CroCop” joining the UFC?
If so, this will give a huge shot in the arm to the division, cause he will surely dominate. Tim Sylvia should be pissing in his pants right now cause he would get knocked the f–ck out.
From watching a few Pride highlights I know that “CroCop” doesn’t just fight, he damages people. He inflicts intimidating injuries that can end a career, but then again, who know what might happen on the ground.

Actually Crocop has devastating ground and pound and submissions also. Tim don’t have a chance either way.

Yeah, that’s true too…I know he’s known for his leg kicks…can you imagine what he would do to Sylvia?, who’s been fighting like such a pu**y lately. I can’t wait for tom. night anymore, it’s driving me crazy with anticipation.

IT’S OFFICIAL…Rampage AND CropCop debut UFC 67. Those are the only 2 reasons I will be ordering that PPV. I would never pay any amount to watch Travis Luter or Matt Serra fight again, even though I like Matt Serra as a person. Regardless, LOOK OUT TIM SYLVIA, YOU ABOUT TO GET KTFO!!!

Rampage Vs Iceman 2 will probable be one of the greatest rematches coming out because if im not mistaken Quintin Jackson was the last to beat Chuck Lidell meaning Chuck will probably train his *** off … lose his ’spare tire’ and we’ll have some actual compotition for him :D
and Mirko don’t get me started on him he’s going to a GREAT asset to UFC he’s just an all around exciting fighter which i for one cannot wait to see in the UFC where he will do extremely well.

Even though I’ve seen rampage lose in Pride to a few dudes, I still think he has the best shot at taking Chuck out. There are just always some guys that have your number, no matter how good and dominant you get. Rampage is a beast. As far as Mirko goes, I guess he realized that he doesn’t have much of a chance becoming a champion in Pride as long as Emilanenko is around, cause they gave each other a savage beating when they fought. There is not one heavyweight in the UFC right now that would even come close to beating Mirko. The only thing I see being a problem is his language and personality barrier. The UFC is becoming more and more of a marketing machine and needs it’s stars to have personalities to help sell the sport (ex. Tito, Shonie Carter, Rampage). Mirko just does his business. Regardless, there’s no doubt he will be the heavyweight champ very soon. I can’t wait.

Thats what i like about Mirko hahaha no mouth … he doesnt need it … he ‘walks the walk’

Unfortunately, I’m still not impressed by this fight card. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I will NEVER pay to watch Travis Lutter fight, especially as a main event. That is just out of principle. I’m also sure that most of these will not even be broadcast, so that sucks. Why do they always have to go ahead and plan things so far down the line? Can’t they make one UFC thats action packed rather than plan 2 at a time within a month from each other?

I agree, I may not get it either…. who am I kidding? Of course its worth $40 bucks, even if I only get to witness Cro Cop’s first battle with the octagon. Will he adjust? Zoitenly!

Besides that, I’m wishing that the Beastman Beats the Beast.

John Halverson (whoever that is) will be in UFC 67. The man that will be across from him is still TBA. We’ll get to see 6-7 fights and this guy will probably not be one of them unless he knocks the other guy out in round one.

jackson is overrated and will loose to chuck but will beat eastman on feb 3. the only one who could challenge chuck from pride is not wanderlai, but shogun that dude is insane
