yesss!!! i want to see that one for sure. for some reason i dont like koscheck i dont know what it is about him i dont like but i just wanna see diego kick his *** again!

Koscheck doen’t even deserve to be fighting Diego. He’s a good wrestler but has not shown any other substantial skills. He only uses his takedowns to smoother people and even his ground and pound isn’t very effective. Diego deserves to be fighting Hughes instead. He has earned his shot at top level oponents. I think Kos should have to get through guys like Riggs and Karo to be put in with Sanchez. Maybe Diego will take this fight to shut up Kos once and for all. He has said he can beat Diego several times after the show but every time he fights it’s less than impressive. I see Diego taking him down and ground and pounding him or submitting him. Even when Kos has the wrestling advantage against oponents he really doesn’t capitalize on it and try to end the fight. Just cause someone gets beat and wants a rematch doesn’t mean they deserve one. I hope if this fight happens Diego destroys him.

yea good point MAD, after beating diaz, karo and riggs, the next logical step is hughes. Putting him against koscheck now is very strange, Diego has climbed too high to be put in the same octagon as josh. Koscheck is showing alot of improvement too, i dont have anything against him, i hope he does well, but hes NOT READY to deal with diego. If i were Diego id be pissed about this.

yeah i think that this is one sided, and its very evident that sanchez and kos are definately not on the same level..like diego…hes juss gangster…personally i didnt really liek him in the beginning, and i thought he was gonna get takin out early when he fought in the ultimate fighter. he basically made me respect him, and it would be an insult to be with koscheck..like all of diegos fights….he proves to you why he won the fight, even when if it goes to decision, you clearly know he won.. example, when he fought karo..there were certain points where karo was owning sanchez..but in the last round diego juss owned liek he always does, beating karo in all aspects of his offense. dont get me wrong, koscheck is not a bad fighter, hes good he just need alot more work so he can be a better all around fighter much liek sanchez…straigt up koschecks wrestling and agressive style fighting does not match the constant onslaught of voracious aggressive bjj from sanchez..and on the reall, sanchez is a way better all around fighter and he will get the win again, liek he did the first time

i to think that diego is a better all around fighter but i also think that koscheck has the stamina to keep up with diego and his wrestling is better than diegos if this fight happens i think its going to be a good fight

the thing about diego… everyone knows hes got skills, but thats not the main reason its a mismatch. Its diegos mindset, look in his eyes man, he will never quit in a fight! hes a warrior, he may very well be thinking the fights are to the death the way he fights. His willpower is much greater than Koscheck, HE WILL NOT LOSE, you gotta knock his *** out or put him to sleep, cuz he wont tap.. Thats why diego is such a pimp. I dont think Koscheck has his mental game up to that level.

First off Diego is not even cocky compared to other fighters in mma. The second thing is that if George St. Pierre could stay healthy long enough to actually fight (which would be a miracle) he would not beat the piss out of diego because diego would prepare for him and I think it would be a good fight.

hey alen where have u been im agreeing with u all the way again i really dont think gsp is going to stay champ for as long as hughes did as a matter a fact i think in the rematch hughes will dominate

first off no diego is not cocky and st.pierre is not always hurt! i dont think i have ever heard sanchez even try to say he’s going to be the champ or beat any champ. diego has shown the skills and growth to be at least a little cocky but he’s not. st.pierre has backed out of two fights in his last three booked matches (he did back out very early so not to tease us) yes this looks bad but come on give the guy some credit 2 fights out of 14 isnt that bad. i would like to think st.pierre backed out not because he got hurt and didnt feel like fighting but because he didnt want to coast to a win nursing an injury. i cant say for sure how long st.pierre will hold the title but i am pretty sure st.pierre vs sanchez would be a good show!

Matt will beat Rush, however Rush is the future and will hold the title again for a long, long time.

Have to go with GSP. Hughes is about to retire then make a comeback. But no…it will be a long time before someone holds the belt as long as Matt did.

what is it that makes you say that hughes will dominate this time around. hughes didnt dominate in the first match and lost the second. i dont think hughes has the skills to dominate st.pierre. IF hughes beats st.pierre again it would probably be by judges call and after 5 rounds of hughes napping on top of st.pierre. i dont think hughes will ever have the stand up to finish st.pierre on his feet and i think st.pierre has enough skill on the ground to at least stop any serious ground and pound attempts. i dont think hughes can beat st.pierre right now i also dont think sanchez can beat st.pierre right now ether. but i would really love to see both fights happen. but hey i could be wrong and this is just my dumb-*** Canadian opinion LOL

i completely disagree , theres no way that hughs will beat gsp…the first time they fought, gsp took it to hughes, and got caught with an armbar, which could happen to any0ne…hughs didnt really beat him…the 2nd time they fought, hughes was clearly outmatched, and got his a** knocked out, and if they fight again its going to be the same outcome..like it would be different if hughes even caused anytype of damage, but he didnt do anything but survive the rounds…im my opinion, i think that BJ Penn has what it takes to defeat both hughes and gsp..in both fights he basically handled both thier cases, until the latter part of both matches, when his conditioning failed him. if penn can get his cardio up to the level of gsp. i think hed be unstoppable..as for the whole gsp and hughes… hughes will never be the same fighter as he was before, and gsp is the new age fighter, and if you look at both fighters styles, and in my opinion,you would see that gsp is A better well rounded fighter and everytime they meet it will be a knock out in gsps favour…

…and with sanchez vs gsp, having a 18-0 record like sanchez , and having the furiousity like him does make him gangster..and Gsp being 13-1 is also as impressive and him having the same furiousity makes him if not equally, more of a better fighter..like in my opinion i dont see sanchez winning, but at the same time i think he has the tools and the mindset to put on a good match, so really and truly this one would be hard to call, but i hope it happens tho….

I think that BJ Penn is the best in the 170lb weight division. He has the skills to beat either GSP or Hughes (I agree with DayDay) - I think he will be the guy to watch in 2007.
If BJ Penn closes out his next opponent, I think he should get a chance at GSP, I mean the last fight was such short notice, I don’t think it was fair to throw it at him on such notice, of course he isn’t going to turn it down, I think he needs at least a fair shot at it since he is a former world champion and he has dominated on a global scale in several organizations unlike Hughes. He is also a blast to watch.

Diego’s no punk. He’s beat some good fighters and is in the top 5 WW in the world. He will lose eventually everyone does but you have to give him cedit for what he’s accomplished. GSP and Hughes better take him seriously or they may just get cought napping like Herring. This is MMA and anything can happen you can’t count anyone out. I hope these fights happen soon so all the speculation will be put to rest.

its funny how biased ppl are, because mosdef, a win is a win, submission is better than decision, but a KO is the determining factor, and gsp has that one on hughes..but to even insinuate that hughs is better because he caught gsp in an arm bare is rediculous…the day that matt hughes does to gsp, what gsp did to him, then clearly hes a better fighter, but until then gsp is the better fighter hands down..lol like watch the dam fight, and see if hughes is winning at any point.. hughs cant stand with gsp whatsoever, i dont know what proof you need, lol its jokes, and his only hope is his bjj, and again, hes out matched…dont be angered by my opinion, but its the truth man, like gsp is too fast for hughes, and although hughes did defeat gsp the first time, if the match were to carry on, it more than likely would’ve ended the same way the second one did.

thats a pretty funny and bold statement to make, because regardless of anything bj penn is a way better fighter than both gsp and hughes, and everyone who actually watched their fights would see that Penns only inhibiting factor is his cardio, and that is the ONLY thing hughes has on him, and if Penn were to ever overcome that, hughes would be in much worse situation..like i mean open your eyes dude, penn clearly demolished hughes in the first two round, of the 2nd fight, and the last round couldnt he even lift his hands in the air he was soo gassed, it does matter that he won those two rounds, because the fact was he was winning by far, like it wasnt an even match at all ….penn paid for his laid back style of training…hughes will be back i think, but never again will he reach the plateau he once sat ..

alot of different opinions here, first of all, about BJ Penn.. Overall I think hes a Better fighter than hughes and GSP, tho hughes is better on the ground and GSP is the better striker. The other MAJOR point here, is that BJ is a natural 155 fighter, guys like Hughes and GSP are HUGE in that division, i wouldnt be surprised if Hughes came into the fight at like 190. BJ moved down to lightweight where he belongs, he wants to be the lightweight champ, and rightly so.

Diego, Hughes and GSP all have the potential of beating each other, and they would all be great matches to see! in particular the Hughes GSP rubber match. For whoever said Hughes could never beat GSP again, i think your mistaken. Hughes had a terrible gameplan in that fight, he was training his standup game, and he was trying to strike with GSP, i dunno why.. ego maybe? fact is, he has the edge over GSP on the ground, if he has a smarter game plan, he can beat GSP.

bvrasp i agree on the hughes issue hes still a great fighter and about bj penn i just dont like him and latley he hasnt been showing his former potential he is a bjj black belt he should of never got caught like hughes caught him i think hughes imbaressed penn that night and im waiting to see what bj does next time he fights

…so……… the fight is as BVRasp said. If GSP sets the pace with striking, he wins. If Matt sets the pace on the ground, he wins. At one time I think BJ had it in him to possibly beat either, but I think he’s gone lazy, and hasn’t been training at the level of the legend or the champ.

shogun is basically the younger , more refined version of wanderlei..and hes the future in Pride fighting, and one to look out for….hes someone that will shock many and should be watched..virtually everyone who trained with chute box are all insane, example look at the champ Anderson silva..

i am looking forward to sanchez ending kos’ career, cause after a second beating (do you remember kos’ face after the TUF fight?) kos will have no place to go, no future, and kicked off the ladder to the top spot. i am not sure diego belongs with gsp yet, but he is years closer than kos, truth is matt hughes will probably come back and be the closest to the champ in terms of experience and stamina, diego is still a good 1-2 years away, and ultimately he just may not be as good as gsp, they do alot of the same things.

now if bj got his sh*t together, he’d be the best, he is technically superior to all of them, just too lazy to go 3-5 rounds, BJ needs to either commit or retire because without being in great shape his best days are behind him.

Well, to all of you intelligent prognosticating “fans” and “experts” and “dudes in the know,” I saw your diego fight Kos last night and you were right. Diego doesn’t deserve to fight Kos, and you were right, they are mismatched and in different leagues of fighting. I gotta hand it to you guys for your knowledge and wisdom in your chosen area of expertise.

I saw the Sanchez v. Koscheck fight last night. It was the worst fight I have ever seen. I know they said that the winner might get a title shot soon but neither one of them deserve one after that horrible performance. I would love to know the punch stats for that fight. Maybe ten punches landed in 15 minutes. It was a joke. Koscheck did the same thing that Tim Sylvia did and got blasted for. Doing just enough to get though and not finishing the other guy. In my opinion that fight last night should have counted as a loss for both of them. UFC should impliment the Pride rule about lack of action. Where the fighters get penalized with a reduction of pay. A little incentive to finish a fight.
