Well, I’m pleased to announce and introduce the newest contributor to the MMA HQ team, Jason Gatties. Many of you already know Jason both from this site and from his KnockoutZone.com MMA site. Jason is one of the guys who I’ve kept in touch with as an MMA blogger and I’m very glad to welcome him here at MMA HQ as a writer. So without further ado, I give you Jason Gatties…

And now…the news…
According to a bulletin Josh Burkman sent out via his myspace.com account, he has signed a contract to meet Karo Parisyan at UFC 71. This bout was rumored for weeks and now according to Burkman, it’s official.
I signed the fight today, me and Karo Parysian May 26th at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Tickets go on sale monday!

I think it should read “Karo Parisyan and myself” but I’m no expert when it comes to proper grammar. Regardless, this should actually shape up to be a pretty good fight. Without putting much thought into it, I would say Parisyan has the edge in this match up.
On a bit of a side note, “The People’s Warrior” also mentioned that his new website will launch April 26th, so all you Burkamaniacs out there be sure you bookmark that or whatever.

My first post, I rip Burkman a bit for his grammar and then I noticed I left out an “a” infront of the word “bulletin”. I’m off to one hell of a start!!!

HEY IS THIS BURKMAN CAT A GOOD FIGHTER?
Yeah he’s a good fighter. He won’t beat Karo but he’s still a good fighter.
Burkman really hasnt showed me much, but Karo is a phenom, hes like 24 years old and hes working as a trainer for WFA legends gym beside guys like Bas Rutten and Randy Couture. Hes been in WARS against serious fighters, he lost to GSP but he went the distance, He lost to Diego and he went the distance. Hes got skills and heart for days! i dont think Josh has a snowballs chance in hell..

oh and about this fight karo is a damn good fighter but hes starting to get PENNINITIOUS for all u how dont know what that is its he has all the skills in the world but thinks hes better than everyone so doesnt train as hard as he should.Burkman trains with tito i think so if he can last round one i say burkman just cuz karo will gas just like the iceman

Huh? “gas like the iceman?” Not sure which “iceman” you speak of, but the one I know usually doesn’t need to go beyond 3 rounds and even if he does (see Jeremy Horn), the Iceman I’m thinking off has enough left in the tank to still pull out a knockout.
Burkman is talented but is not in the same league as Karo. It will be a very entertaining FIRST round and beyond that, all Karo.
I personally have only seen Chuck gas once…………

A bet sounds interesting but even though i dont like chuck and i think he will lose u can never count liddel out if rampage beats the he*ll out of him for four rounds liddel still has a chance lets face it the man can throw a punch so for me to place a bet especially against chuck would be dumb his ko power is something that people cant train for if he connects lights out.I JUST LIKE TO TALK SH*IT cuz some people dont give fighters some respect even though i dont like chuck i do acknowledge how good he is
