It looks like eBay has become quite popular among UFC fighters lately. First we had Tim Sylvia auctioning of a Playstation 3, then this past week we saw Rich Franklin auction off his TUF Hummer and one of his custom “American Fighter” choppers. Well, today Melvin Guillard jumped into the eBay auction scene.
Melvin is auctioning off a “corner pass” to his upcoming fight with Joe Stevenson at the Ultimate Fight Night on April 5th. According to the auction, you will receive the following “perks” for winning:

The reserve price on the auction is $1,500 and as of right now there have been 19 bids with the current highest bid being $560. Surprising as it may seem, this isn’t the first time a UFC fighter has tried this. Drew Fickett once posted the same type of auction, but the UFC made Fickett remove the auction due to “security concerns.” Dan Henderson also once had the same type of auction for a PrideFC event. So, as of right now, if you are going to be in Las Vegas next week and want to “corner” Melvin Guillard, then have fun bidding. Don’t be surprised when the auction “mysteriously” dissappears in the next day or two however.

I haven’t been here in about 2 weeks. Lots of crap happened. I was following the UFC-Pride thing and it should be real good for the sport. Like Dr. J said, we have the NBA, MLB, NFL, ect., so it can’t be bad.

I understand showing these fighters love and respect, but we’re only creating a monster within these guys when we “nuthug” them to this extent.
