I wish bloggers would stop posting fighter payouts. Every month, we get idiots saying “derr, I don’t know why anyone would fight for 2 + 2″. They fight for that amount because they want to fight for that amount. Jesus, this is a free country, fight in the IFL if you don’t like it.

Bottom line is, the ONLY and I repeat, ONLY people who ever complain about the fighter pay days are FANS who DON’T GET IT and Tito Ortiz, who’s a f*cktard.

Why do indy wrestlers perform for $20 a night? Why do gas station attendants work for $6 per hour? Why do people sit on their fat asses and collect unemployment? Because they choose to do so. If you are an unknown fighter who is barely getting by and the UFC calls you in to fight…you go fight, simple as that. They understand the risk is worth the potential reward. Why don’t you people get that???

Cro Cop deserves the money. Even though he got knocked out, he’s a filable contender for light heavy and heavy weight. It’s nice to see the UFC forking out the bucks.

On another note: I hope that the reasent UFC 70 dosen’t prove the arguments that Pride fighter’s are a notch below UFC fighters…

I think his current contract was signed while he was still in the top 2-3 contenders spot for the HW championship, so he is still feeding off that. Not to mention he has in the past been a fan favorite. I think his standing is starting to erode now though, he hasn’t been an exciting contender and if he doesn’t pick it up, I think you will see smaller paydays for the “pitbull” in the future.

Same goes for Mirko - he is under his current 5 fight deal, which entails large paydays for him, Dana had to do what he had to do to get a player like Mirko to sign in with the UFC on an “EXCLUSIVE” deal which means big money. Problem is that whether Cro Cop wins or loses his next 4 fights on that contract, he is still going to get ginormous amounts of money that makes Chuck’s deal pale in comparison. I hate these huge exclusive contract deals because there is no motivation for a fighter to keep dominating, I mean Cro Cop is a millionaire whether he wins, loses, or draws over the next 4 fights.

It depends on the situation. People like Diaz will make a HUGE stink in the media, which causes a negative buzz on the UFC. If all parties agree to renig on the contract it’s a do, if not then there could be legal action from either party. I assume that Diaz was sick of being a UFC exclusive and the UFC was sick of Diaz’s competing for Jerk of the Year .. so they all agreed to cancel the contract. Doc would know better than me, but that is usually the way it goes down.

Right now as we speak Dana White and Zuffa are exploring legal action against the Fedor camp to get him back into Pride exclusive and to enforce his current contract, Fedor is trying to kick Pride and Dana to the curb. He says he is a free agent, I guess Fedor is good enough to actually raise a fight over legally, I don’t think Dana would do that over any other fighter other than Fedor, Shogun, Wand, or Gomi.

The fans here in colorado were so like in “wow” to the fighting. Maybe because we never had a big event here before but it was great. I could only imagine what a ufc event is like in person.

it was 3…..but with the buyout, everything changes.

The biggest change that Dana mentioned about Fedor, is that there will be no “open contracts”…..so Fedor’s reaction will be interesting, because he always insisted to fight outside of Pride in Russia.

Dunno why fighters hate the UFC/DANA/ZUFFA so much. People like BJ Penn, Tito Ortiz, Nick Diaz, and Fedor just don’t want to be held to exclusive contract deals I guess, it’s a matter of being owned exclusively by an organization I guess. The thing is though that the UFC pays the best, promotes the best, and are the biggest, it’s like playing football for the Colts or the Pats.. why wouldn’t you want to? Look at guys like Chuck and Matt Hughes, they play by the rules and it’s really paid off for them.

The thing is, I’m working on some stuff to integrate the forum logins with the main website. So your accounts will be the same on both, and if you are logged into one you will be logged into the other and not have to login each time to leave a comment.

Whats the deal with guys like Kendall Grove gettin’ all anorexic to fight at lower weights, I mean when your that freaking tall, dude, he looks sick fighting at such a low weight, if he were fighting HW he would get smashed.. maybe that’s why he fights at such a low weight, scared to face the big boys on a larger weight scale…

Your from Colorado also? I also went to the Ring of Fire show. They have been here for quite some time I’m surprised this is the first you heard of them. They are finally advertising better and the new Broomfield venue is great. Mike Nichols that was on the TUF show fought on the card. He also does tatoos and a couple of my friend kow him and have had some tatoo work done by him. The Ring of Fire used to be in a ring like pride this was the first time using a cage. It’s good to see local MMA live. As the promotion continues to grow thay may start getting better talent but some of the less talented fighters make for more entertaining fights. Alot of these guys fight with reckless abandon and put on a good show. Good to see someone else is here and supporting local MMA.

yeah nate is related like nick and fights like him to the kids an animal and i want joe to win cuz he beats jens azzz but have u seen when kendal faught at 205 he gets koed by joe riggs on the ground and by hector ramirez standing kendall im afraid to say has a chin of glass even though he has come a long way since those days
