Rampage is the f—ing man…What’s up everybody? I’m still on vacation but wanted to chime in a little bit about my experiences @ UFC 71. I will probably write a formal account in a few days when I get back to NY and see if Dr. J would be interested in posting it. Like everyone at the event, I was shocked and exhuberated that Rampage had achieved what many on here had considered “the impossible”. I will do my best to give some interesting perspectives about what I experienced etc.

I’m working every spare second I have to get the MMA HQ top ten voting site completed. Everyone around the net complains about the MMAWeekly rankings everytime they are released so I think having a site where ALL the FANS can determine that rankings will be cool. I know the MMAWeekly votes used to be cast by their writers and a few other fighters and trainers, but I think recently its simply been stripped down to their staff. Its too bad really because now CBSportsline is using their rankings on the CBS site as well.

Well Doc you could really put MMAHQ on the map with this deal, do it right and we can get tons of votes around the web as it catches on ..

when champions go down, do you guys think to other fighters they are shark in the water, like now that pierre lost and chuck lost, do you guys think that give other fighters added confidence to want to fight them.

Yep.. chuck is gonna lose that “TYSON” aura that has surrounded him and made him intimidating to his opponents for so long.. and it will impede his ability to knock out everyone in round 1 for sure.. I think that is also what happened to Wand, they will have to come back twice as strong and train really hard,,,,, and really knock the crap out of some big players to get back on top now ..

and now they are gonna have no choice ESPECIALLY since dana and them are trying to acuire all the great pride fighters. Its gonna be TWICE as hard. But that is only good for the two companies, this will bring the best out of the ufc fighters and i hope that is what happens. Even though it is all one comapany, i hope they still keep that same intensity towards each other as if it still were ufc vs pride so we can see the best perforamance atop of them already at a high competative level competing against each other. But yep i agree chuck has it cut out for him. Well all of the lw and heavyweights have it cut out for them but Especially lw.

You guys want to see some more somewhat “humerous” rankings? Check out UFC Mania’s site. They only do ranking of UFC fighters but even still some of them are commical. They have Gonzaga ranked ahead of both Nog and Cro Cop for instance.

great job by gonzaga and crocops been looking off his game lately, still tho, i dont think that one loss would make so much of a difference.. even if it was a crushing loss like it was.. how many people has crocop done that to? and alot bigger name fighters than gabriel gonzaga..

it could be argued that cro crop they fought twice and it was a draw at first then a ko for cro crop but wandy hasnt lossed to anyone twice a nemisis is someone u cant beat

well it would be nice if they fought twice lol, it would definately make for more accurate rankings.. of course they cant though.. like matt serra hes lost to some people whos hes above now its just weird u cant really say no one is number one unless they fight everyone in there division and thats impossible so were left with the what ifs and thats what makes MMAHQ so fun

well i want to see chuck and rampage again. i dont care…..that fight went to early and chuck got caught with that punch, if rampage rams hit foot up chucks *** a third time, then i MAY shut up and except the fact chuck cant beat rampage but until then ill guess ill stay in denial..lol lol

i would pay for that match again chucks chuck he has unriveled power in his punches and will always have the best of the best in punchers chances but i still think rampage would beat him and henderson that guys and animal plus hes ugly i put my money on ugly

for sure, you got your overall rankings, then you have that X factor, wheter its one fighter inside anothers head, or the “this is my shot” eye of the tiger matt serra thing, or the lucky shots that DO happen, like in my opinion Jardine shouldnt have lost that fight, he couldnt finish alexander, then he let down his guard and got caught with that big right hand on the ear, then alexander came through.. and i think we can say he successfully finished jardine.. boy did he ever..

Jardine doesnt have enough experience yet, im sure jardine is a WAY better fighter than Houston, i DO think Houston was lucky, he was lucky Jardine couldnt finish him, he was lucky jardine let down his guard in the clinch, after that, it wasnt luck, it was Houston unloading on him lol.

Like i said before, i put houston on par with Marvin Eastman, theyre like the same guy lol, not very technical or well rounded, but they come in conditioned and ready to bang. Theyre dangerous guys, but in my opinion B level fighters..

ya i just watched that fight like 10 times just now hehe, i dunno what jardine was doing in the clinch, he didnt secure the thai clinch and he was trying to throw his knees.. he didnt have the leverage and he left himself open.. If he did the clinch sorrectly those blows cant hurt you

bvrasp i also have seen the fight over and over and over i see jardine landing a clean shot going in for the kill and then getting manhandled to the fence and pumulded over and over and over the guy has expierence more than houston jardine also has an awesome camp he should of been ready just cuz u knock out forrest griffin doesnt mean ur something it just means u knocked out forrest griffin

ok rich, you see where houston bum rushes him into the fence and they both throw a knee at the same time? look at jardines hands, hes got one hand on houstons neck and the other is on his shoulder, that is NOT a muai thai clinch. You have to lock your hands up behind his head, higher up than the neck and try to pull his head down, which brings the shoulders down and you cant get the angle or leverage to throw those hooks with any real power. Also the elbows are touching in the middle to prevent the uppercuts from getting through.. and THEN you can throw your knees. Like with Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin, thats why rich couldnt hammer him a la Houston alexander..
