Jens Pulver to WEC Featherweight Division?
Reports are now arising that Jens Pulver, one of the coaches on The Ultimate Fighter Season 5, will move to the featherweight division of the WEC after his fight against B.J. Penn this month. Earlier today on the Savage Dog Show on Sherdog.com Radio, Monte Cox reported that Jens will make the move down to the 145lb weightclass in the WEC and most likely fight Urijah Faber down the road.
Jens Pulver and B.J. Penn will fight at the TUF 5 finale on June 23. This fight will be a rematch of their UFC Lightweight title fight at UFC 35 in 2002, where Pulver defeated Penn by majority decision. Up until the point Sean Sherk won the UFC lightweight title earlier this year, Jens Pulver had been the only man to hold the UFC 155lb title, as the division was disbanded in 2002 shortly after Pulver won the title.
If the move to the WEC is true, I think it is a good move for Jens and he will be able to fight at a more natural weight. How much pressure will he be able to put on Urijah Faber? Only time will tell, but if they do fight, it should be an excellent matchup.

i seen wec on sunday and this faber guy is an animal he demolished his opponent hes a beast jens has no chance
DOC… OR ANYONE TO WAKE UP THE BLOG.???
DO YOU THINK THAT JOE COULD WIN SEASON 5?
@Patrick,
I dont know whats up man. The sites been dead every since UFC 71. I guess there isn’t much to talk about now that the Chuck vs Rampage fight is over and UFC 72 is such a boring card.
Hopefully we can get some talk going about the Strikeforce card coming up.
Anyways, sure I think Joe can win. I’m hoping for a Lauzon vs Diaz final.

IM THINKIN JOE WOULD BEAT DIAZ… JOE IS A EFFEN ANIMAL DORK…. STRIKEFORCE WILL ROCK HOW MUCH IS IT GONNA COST?
I think it will either be Joe or Nate Diaz personally. There are a couple of other guys that might get the upset though. Jens going to the WEC to fight at 145 probably is a good decision for him. Seems like the light weights these days are huge. Sherk, Melvin and Nick Diaz and now BJ at lightweight make it a tough division to compete in if your a little smaller. Jens vs Faber would be an awsome matchup. Faber has looked dominant at that weight so Jens will have his work cut out for him.
@Patrick,
Not sure. Strikeforce will probably be $30 or $35 I would guess
Phil vs Frank should be a good fight. As long as Frank keeps himself from being disqualified. I don’t see this fight going to the ground for any extended period of time though.

IM 6′2 175 HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO CUT TO 155 THROUGH WATER WEIGHT?
@Patrick,
Thats a hard question to answer. It really depends on how much water you carry and what kind of physique you have. Being 6′2″ I’d say 155 is pretty low but if you are only 175 now its not that much of a stretch.
Look at Cory Hill on TUF 6 right now. He’s about 6′2″ and he cuts down to 155 so thats about what you’d need to look like. The first couple of cuts down to 155 would be pretty tough, but its not impossible to cut 20lbs.
corey hill is only 6′2 fu*ck that guy looks seven foot on that show i also want to see joe vs diaz but DR J im 6′1 400 lbs how hard would it be for me to cut to 155 LOLOLOL
damn richard youz a big boy! i remember you saying your big but 6′2″ 400lbs. is BIG!!!
DAMM RICHARD
ANYONE ELSE AGREE WITH ME THAT SPENCER FISHER SUCKS?
Nope. In fact just the opposite. I think Fisher is a year or two away from being on of the top lightweight fighters in the world
DOC

FISHER IS PRETTY GOOD…. I DONT THINK HE WILL BEET STOUT THOUGH
i defianetly dont think that fisher sucks yeah he lost to franca but hes awesome i have to agree with DR J on this one
Patrick, you really need to stop saying guys suck.. we should have the courtesy rule on mmahq, dont say anything you wouldnt say to a fighters face.. cuz really, its just hate, theres no thought behind saying someone sucks..
agreed…
off topic….but can someone please tell me what happened to the latest post about koscheck..and him speaking out about the paying scheme of the ufc…because i was bout to make a comment, and it said it was removed or no longer exist, in that mere 2 mins i took to read the topic it was delete…why is that?? Doc you have any explainations??..like in the end it is the truth, it doesnt need to be brushed under the rug so to speak, cause it will come up sooner or later..
Well it turns out that koschecks myspace account was broken into and he didn’t really make that post. I’m out in a meeting right now and don’t have time to fully correct and update my post so I just took it down until I can correct it.
well regardless it is a important topic nontheless, and it should be brought up…im off to work juss now, but id like to know what the real deal is, and what everyone else thinks about it..
