I normally don’t like to speculate on fights that I haven’t been able to get a reasonable amount of confirmation on, but with the lack of news stories lately, the MMA world is abuzz today with news that Andre Arlovski and Brandon Vera might fight at UFC 78 in November. UFCMania.com is reporting the story, and even they are very non-committal about the fight, saying they can’t get either confirmation or denial of the bout.
But with all the talk about the fight and many of you readers wanting to know what is next for both Arlovski and Vera, I’ll put it out there. Brandon Vera has recently been quoted as wanting to get in at least two fights before the end of the year. If Vera does fight at UFC 78, it is unlikely that he will fight twice due to the fact that UFC 78 is currently slated for November.
Arlovski hasn’t fought since April at UFC 70 when he won a lackluster decision against Fabricio Werdum. Prior to the fight, it was widely thought that if Arlovski won he would be next in line for a heavyweight title shot. Well, Andre’s performance against Werdum was less than stellar and the UFC has since added some more considerable firepower to their Heavyweight division. Andre’s title shot seems like a distant thought at this point.
If this fight does happen, it should be a very exciting fight. Even if its not exciting, it will be good to finally see Brandon Vera back in action.

I HAVE TO POST FIRST ON THIS ONE DOC….
I HOPE ANDREI KICKS THE **** OUTA THAT
GREEDY LIL *******
I hope this fight does happen. Arlovski is a good fighter and it will be great to see him back in action. I think his last fight he was a little cautious because he did not want to lose a second fight in a row. Brandon and Andrei bring it and this would be a great test for Vera. He claims to be one of the best at least this will give him a chance to prove it. I would have to go with Arlovski on this one just from the experience and level of competition he has faced. I like Vera also and hope he gets his contract figured out so we can see more from him. With Crocop, Big Nog, and Fedor possibly coming soon I don’t see either of these guys being the champ anytime soon but they are both entertaining and put on a good show.

im glad u wrote a story about this this week has been pertty boring
This week has been terrible. No news at all worth talking about. And the next UFC event isn’t for a few more weeks. Hopefully stuff picks up soon.
Sounds good to me. Looking forward to this event… brand new arena 10 minutes away from my house with a UFC….that’s heaven. As for the fight…I hope Arlovski comes out hungry. He’s put on some less than stellar shows in the past (UFC61 vs. Sylvia and UFC70 vs. Werdum) and one climactically anti-climactic (UFC55 vs. Buentello), but I suppose you can’t blame him for that one. Vera talks a lot but he hasn’t run into anyone to offer him resistance…we all know that the Frank Mir that Vera dominated is a shadow of the former champ…Arlovski would serve as his toughest test by far. Arlovski by TKO (ref stoppage) in the 2nd.
Adam
totally off topic u guys seen the kim kardajian *** tape if u havent check it out shes hot
man i know, richard send it to me……please send it to me, i dying to see her please send it lol
As much I like Arlovski, I have to go with Vera on this one…for so many reasons, here are just two:
1) I think that he will be determined to establish himself as a superstar in the sport with this being his biggest fight to date. I think Vera will want to piss off Dana White and prove that he deserves the big money…therefore, he will train like never before.
2) Arlovski has proven to have a glass chin…Vera is no pushover…he is very technical and methodical in his striking.
If Andre Arlovski takes on Brandon Vera that would be huge! Brandon is up and coming quickly in the mma scene. While Andre is a known beast in the cage. Really hope this happens
I haven’t seen either of these guys in a while, I hope Andre wins it, it will be stellar competition for him, and Brandon will prove to be a great challenge. At this point I can’t pick a winner…
I think Wanderlei is gonna retire soon…. I think he is going to just straight out mentor other fighters…. IF Zuffa decides to make the WAND / CHUCK
wow that cut me off…… I think if the fight happens between Ice and Axe, Axe will venture all the way to the title, but if Dana squashes it to save face, then Wands done
He doesn’t look too thrilled about starting all over again now that Pride is defunct….
Oh, and I am leaving for Brazil August 1st .. I wont be going to the Chuteboxe academy but I will be going to a Gracie Jujitsu Academy there, and a Top Team Academy…

Im going with my boy Arlovski in this fight, Vera is a good fighter, but theres something about him i just dont like.. and its not his fighting skills. I dont blame him for going for the big paydays, kind of like Frank Shamrock does. I think its just his attitude that bugs me.. I wanna see Arlovski back on top in the division
WORD UP BV
arlovski has more than enough tools to handle vera im going with arlovski
