Greg Savage from Sherdog.com interviewed Wanderlei Silva yesterday at Randy Couture’s training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wandi talks about his contract negotiations with the UFC, his desire to fight Chuck Liddell this December, and his new academy in Florida where he will now reside.

wow! looks like i was wrong, Wand is jumping on the UFC bandwagon! its like a dream come true for fight fans man! now im wondering if guys like Randleman and Barnett will change their tune and sign with the best organization in the world right now just like Wand said.
So theres no confusion, im picking Wand vs anyone.. hes one of my favorite fighters of all time.
LOL I DUNNO ABOUT ALL THIS MONOPOLY ****… STARTING TO LOSE INTEREST IN ALL THIS ****
I think this is great for the sport, now we get to see all of the best fighters in the world go head to head. I believe what many may be concerned with “Monopoly” of MMA as it pertains to the UFC, might not be a bad thing. I had many concerns before, I always associated MMA contracts like Boxing. I have now took a different stance looking at the UFC like the NFL, Baseball etc….. The progression of fighters pay will probably elvolve much like other pro sports but in a much quicker fashion. Heard about player unions, what about a fighters union? Once again I see both sides of the coin, both have positive and negative sides, but I believe MMA is headed in the right direction. The biggest winners still are the fans.
yup i agree ozzy, patrick is probably getting bored cuz there hasnt been a UFC event in a while now.. but theres some GREAT matches coming up soon! and septembers gonna be packed with great fights weve been waiting to see. Just another week and change patrick hehe
BV
YEA I THINK YOUR RIGHT…. I MIGHT BE MORE PUMPED WHEN ANOTHER EVENT HAPPENS AND SEPT IS JAMMED PACKED…
Since I’m at work, I can’t watch the video but I’m very surprised to hear that Wandi is in Vegas, he’s training @ Coutures? what is that all about?
@Amir
It is probably all about the dollar bill. Not that I have any inside info. but when I used to hang out a gym with prize fighters it was always about the money. Who knows except Wandi and Randy.
ya ozzy, for sure, i mean a matchup like Chuck vs Wandy is gonna be the highest grossing fight in all of mma history.. no doubt about that, it IS about the money, but its about the pride too. Its true for any fighter, but for brazillians even more so!
Your right BVRASP, I believe anyone who first stepped into the ring or cage, derived that passion from pride. They wanted to show themselves and to everyone else that they had the courage to go head to head with another person (To me that is the greatest and worse feeling in the world)……..Man these dudes are bad, they do it on a consistent basis against the best fighters in the world……That is Pride!………Then comes the $
Wow! This is great! Hahahaha… WAND IS GONNA TEAR UP THE 205 BABY!
I am still in Brazil guys… will be flying out of here tomorrow, we are having a party tonight at 8pm Brazil time, probably 2-4 hours ahead of U.S. time… I might be able to drop a photo or video by DR J and get it online.. I did get to train with the Gracie Baha group in Goias, they are freaking good at BJJ, its all they do, but I tore a dudes ear half off, because he wouldnt tap and he would quit when I had him in a guillotine because he didn´t want to tap out in a match with an American.. he is Carlos Gracie Jr.~s student and god man is he good, he submitted me twice, once in an armbar and once in a choke, I submitted him once time in a Guillotine, then after that I got the Guillotine on him 2 other times but he literally pulled out of it so hard that he tore his ear… crazy. anyways, talk to you guys later, hey BV I am with you all the way on this post!
damn
if i was in vegas or in a 50 mile radious i would be training with wandy in a quickness
The UFC lightheavy’s will make for some damn good fights. Chuck, Rampage, Hendo, Shogun, Wandy, Big Nog, and the ever present Tito. White and Joe Silva will have an easy time match-making.
I know everyone wants to see Wanderlei/Chuck (including me) but I strongly think White will give Wandy a warm-up match before he faces Chuck. Especially b/c Chuck is fighting now. Chances are we see Liddell/Silva in early 2008.
the thing about warm ups is the can get hot remember houston vs jardine,soko vs little nog
Has he even signed a UFC contract yet? What’s taking so long? Or is Dana still crying about him not able to fight in Sept.
its only a matter of time before wandi is going to be the champ
@Dr.J
from now on i’m going to start sending my cool little finds directly to you. it seem like most people miss them untill you put something up. anyways good job Doc keep it up, i just wanna keep my fellow mma fans in the know. more educated fans means the fight orgs will HAVE to give the best fights and thats the real goal, to see some good fights.
