The UFC officially announced today that Brandon Vera will, in fact, return to the octagon and fight again in the UFC. Dana White announced that Vera will probably make his return by this October.
Brandon Vera is a young, well-rounded, exciting heavyweight who finishes fights in exciting fashion, said Dana White, UFC President. I think he brings a lot to the heavyweight mix, and I see him in a position to fight for the heavyweight title in 2008.
Vera’s absense can be attributed in part to issues with his former management team; issues that had to be brought before the California State Athletic Commission. Now very has new management and has changed fight camps and is ready to return to the UFC and continue his climb up the ranks.
I’m so excited to be back in the UFC, I have no words to describe the feeling, said Vera.
I realize the UFC heavyweight division is much stronger now, but I like having more challenges, and that just gives me more motivation to train,†said Vera. I feel that when I’m on top of my game, nobody can beat me. I have a plan to become the heavyweight champion, so I’m going to stick to the plan that my management team NCFC and both of my coaches set and win the titles. I want to prove I’m the best for my family, my friends and most of all my fans.

Is it just me, or is Vera the only one who thinks he is the best in the world? He is a great fighter with some impressive wins, but I just do not see him being top of the food chain.
vera needs to beat a big name bad im guessing vera vs arlovski is veras next match
I think he is good also but not great. I’m just glad the whole UFC vs Vera negotiations are over. Finally there’s something else to talk about Brandon about. If he thinks he’s the best now he’ll have a chance to prove it.
Hes a young guy, im sure it was his managements idea to negotiate himself right out of the market. If its all really coming from Vera himself, i would describe him as Frank Shamrock, without the talent.
We all can see that the worlds best fighters have conceded to fight for the UFC since the fall of Pride. If Vera doesnt want to watch his ship sink, he better get his mind right and focus on fighting the best fighters, not fighting for the most money. If you fight the best and beat the best, the money will be there at the end of the rainbow.
He should sign a 3-4 fight contract with the UFC and fight guys like Arlovski, Sylvia, Crocop.. if he comes out on top, boom title fight. Then when your signing your next contract, there be alot more zeros for you brandon.
no opinion……none.

So Patrick, tell us how you really feel…………LOL
CANT STAND THE DIRT BAG OZZY
I have never met the guy, but I have met some other fighters that were jerk offs, so I can only imagine.
Vera’s a sick kickboxer and a straight-up dude! Stoked that he’s back! He might not be the best @ Heavyweight but he sure makes things even more interesting.
Stop the playa-hatin’ Patrick you little *****.
