World Extreme Cagefighting will hold their WEC 30 show tonight in Las Vegas. The event will be available for free, live on the Versus network at 9pm EST.
The main event of the evening is between current WEC champ Rob McCullough and Rich Crunkilton for the WEC Lightweight belt. McCullough won the WEC title at WEC 25 when he defeated Kit Cope by strikes in the first round. Crunkilton brings a 17-1 record into the fight and will look to work his submission game against “Razor” Rob. This should be an entertaining fight to watch, and I’m going to take McCullough by strikes in the third round.
The WEC Bantamweight title will also be up for grabs as current champ Chase Beebe takes on Rani Yahya. Beebe won the bantamweight title at WEC 26 will a unanimous decision against Eddie Wineland. Yahya is moving down from the featherweight division where he last fought at WEC 28, winning a submission victory over Mark Hominick in the first round. Yahya is a submission specialist and has won the famed Abu Dhabi submission grappling tournament in the 66kg division.
Other notable fighters on the card include John Alessio who has fought a few times in the UFC and Jesse Forbes who was on season three of The Ultimate Fighter, losing to Matt Hammil at the shows finale.
