The dreaded staph infection has struck again, this time afflicting Nick Diaz.
GracieFighter.com is reporting that Nick contracted staph a few days before his past fight in EliteXC against Mike Aina. GracieFighter reports the infection to be “severe” and notes that Diaz was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital after arriving to watch his brother Nathan fight on the last UFC Fight Night card.
I felt pretty crappy in my match in Hawaii but I figured it was jet lag or maybe something I had eaten the night before. When I left Hawaii the next day I was getting chills and had to be covered with several blankets on the plane but I just kept having cold sweats. By the time I got to Vegas the infection had ballooned up and so I went to the hospital to have it checked out. They admitted me and I’ve been here ever since.

GET BETTER COWBOY
Defense Soap, Defense Soap, Defense Soap…
Well….. this is bad news for my Diaz. I have him listed in my personal top 10 for the Welterweight division… I think he could beat most of the best fighters up to the top 8 I think…
Impressive that he fought and as well as he did being sick and all…
By the way.. I have a major gripe for all the MMA media outlets and fans out there…
TECHNICALLY, Wand is not coming off of TWO, (2) devastating losses back to back.
The loss to Cro Cop was in a Grand Prix tourney, not in his division/weight class and not for the title or really for anything more than a tourney title, you cannot win them all you know, he is underweight to be fighting against heavies like Fedor or Cro Cop or anyone that big, so to say he came off a huge LOSS is kinda benign in and of itself, more like Cro Cop won the Grand Prix.. not that Wand lost it, so what, I mean tons of good fighters lose in a Grand Prix.. just cause Chuck LOST in one of the Pride Tourneys didn’t mean he still wasn’t one of the most optimal fighters of his time.. I think Wands only REAL LOSS was against Henderson and that was a legitimate butt kickin’… even though Wand was sick, but hey … RULE # 76.. NO EXCUSES PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION.. RIGHT???? Well Wand has one official loss in his division, and that is Hendo.. which he also has a win on … so me thinks he will redeem himself in his upcoming fight..

SHOGUN IS HAVING SURGERY FOR HIS KNEE SUNDAY… if your a fan say a prayer, this is serious for anyone who understands sports injuries… thank GOD Shogun is only 23 so his body is still very resilient due to him being so youthful
The injury kept him from doing his regular cardio / sparring routines..
