Strikeforce held their weigh-ins yesterday for tonights “Strikeforce: Four Men Enter, One Man Survives” light heavyweight tournament event. At the weigh-ins the tournament fight matchups were determined.
The initial round of the tournament will feature the following matchups:
- Trevor Prangley vs Falaniko Vitale
- Yuki Sasaki vs Jorge Santiago
- Sean Salmon vs Dennis Hallman (alternate bout)
Jeremiah Metcalf is a tournament reserve and will not fight unless there are injuries to the other fighters.
The non-tourament fights feature the following fights:
- Cung Le vs Sam Morgan
- Paul Buentello vs Alistair Overeem - Heavyweight title fight
- Bobby Southworth vs Anthony Ruiz - Light Heavyweight title fight
There are also about 7 other fights on the undercard that I’m not sure will be shown on the internet broadcast.
Also, for those of you involved in the MMA HQ fight camp at MMAPlayground.com, don’t forget to make your fight picks for tomorrow nights UFC 78 event.

uhhhh.. ok well, you cant click on the link just highlight it and copy and past into the address bar.
Strikeforce is starting in about 10 min guys… i already put the link up for you.. cant go wrong with a free event man.
well.. its all over, pretty good event in my opinion. I wont spoil it for anyone except for this.. Its official Frank Shamrock vs Cung Le, though they didnt say when. This should be a good fight, but i think Frank is gonna win by KO, he just loves being the big fish in a small pond.
Anyone else watch this???

BV HES 1 AND 6 LOL
did you watch the event Patrick? the Cung Le fight was pretty cool
anyone watch the 78 weigh-ins? hehe Bisping got right in his face and Rashaad gave him a little shove hehe.
LOL IM CAVING IN BOYS IM GONNA ORDER THE EVENT….
BV
NO DIDNT SEE THE FIGHT.. DONT HAVE A COMPUTER NOW JUST ONE AT WORK AND I CANT WATCH VIDS…. I DID CHECK OUT YESTERDAY AT MY HOMEBOYS HOUSE AND SEE DIAZ AND NOOONS… DIAZ LOOKED LIKE ABSOLUTE ****.. I BELIEVE DIAZ PULLED A TYSON OR GSP AND DIDNT TRAIN FOR ****… WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Im watching this event for sure.. i never miss one man.. i dont think its that bad of a card.. nothing great, but its still the UFC. Be nice to see Rashaad batter Bisping, Edgar vs Fisher should be CRAZY! i Like Ed Herman, be nice to see if he can pull this one out against Doerkson. To top it all off we get to see Thiago Silva vs Houston.. VERY interested to see what happenes there.
All together it makes it an ok card.. there have definately been worse UFCs in the past that i still watched hehe.
TRUE BV… I HOPE THEY SHOW JOE
I just read up some stuff on Salmon, he had a seizure in the cage yesterday before the took him off on the stretcher. He did give the thumbs up on the way out and today the doctors confirmed that he didnt have any serious brain trauma or a fractured skull. They also said they probably wouldnt clear him to fight again because of his condition.
I might have been a bit had on Sean in my other post.. It takes alot of balls to come and fight on short notice, especially in a tournament setup. He has my respect for that, but hes clearly outmatched even against B level fighters, he should lsten to the doctors and hang it up man.
Hes a brave guy to take those lumps but now he should stick to coaching and live through younger more talented fighters.
BV TOTALLY AGREE… GUTS AND COURAGE PROPS TO HIM AS A MAN… BUT WHEN I SAY HE CANT HANG WITH THE B LEVEL FIGHTER YOU KNOW WHAT I REALLY MEAN TO SAY ABOUT HIM DONT YA OR ANYONE ELSE???

Well RICHARD … PATRICK… and TODD.. how you like my Brazilian Chuteboxe brothers now! Uhhhh yeah… Alexander knocked OUT in round ONE… by one of the younger training partners of Wand, and Shogun.. same camp as Silva.. I am telling you… Wand is going to do the same. you will see…. but for now EAT IT!
Go CHUTEBOXE!
Thiago has the SAME build as Shogun had months ago… no steroids, just hard training and a good diet….
Shogun had an injury and couldnt get pumped for his last…its clearly obvious.. he will be back in 2008 and will be top of his game….
well aint i just the lucky one, i tuned into my pay per view channel for my 5 min. free preview and wouldnt ya know i got the whole event for free. witch is good because there was no way i was going to pay for that card. although im glad i didnt pay for it there was a couple of good fights. Houston got to show off his ground game *snicker snicker* but he did pull off a wicked choke slam lol.

Yeah.. funny man.. he was talking all about his “mystic” ground game that nobody had seen.. he got pummeled haha… whatever…. he has a bum rush, its good man.. but against a REAL martial artist of superb caliber, no way… CHUTEBOXE fighters train harder than anyone.. wanna be a champ.. go train there… I can see Thiago going all the way with time.. but he is in the shadow of Wand and Shogun right now so we will see.. it was good from start to finish from my end.. and I didn’t pay for the event either… sports bar folks.. hehe… wings and a fight… lol

do a little research man there has been more then one champ come out of CHUTEBOXE, you may not know this but the UFC is not the only MMA org. in the world. Miletich has also produced more then the three champs your thinking of. MMA didnt start in 2005 and the UFC isnt the only place to fight. ChuteBoxe is just as much a proven name as Miletich or Team Quest or any other fight camp for that matter so you guys can just get over it any time now, its ok to like CHUTEBOXE!
