The Palm Beach Post is reporting that Din Thomas has had all charges against him dropped in regards to the “illegal cage fighting” competitions he was arrested for last month.
Prosecutors this morning decided not to file charges against a nationally-renowned mixed martial arts fighter who was arrested in October after investigators alleged he organized “illegal cage fighting” matches in a St. Lucie West warehouse.
He was accused of violating a Florida statute that governs “prohibited competitions,” a third-degree felony.
However, Assistant State Attorney Jeff Hendricks said today the state attorney’s office has decided not to file formal charges against Thomas, and filed paperwork dismissing the charge on which he was arrested.
Hendricks said several things factored into the decision, including an exception to the “prohibited competitions” statute for training.
He said if the fighter or participants were students of Thomas’ school, and the purpose of the school is to teach martial arts, then they meet the exception to the law.
Hendricks also said it was revealed after Thomas’ arrest that the school didn’t profit from the match because all the money collected was raffled off, and that one of the students present was an emergency medical technician.
Good news for Thomas as his name has now been cleared legally. Now he just needs to fully recover from the knee injury he suffered in his fight against Kenny Florian and return to the lightweight ranks of the UFC.

I knew Din would get off, like i said in the tyler durden thread. Amateur sparring matches dont have to be sanctioned or all that jazz. Next thing you know, theyre gonna want to sanction it everytime someone puts on a pair of gloves in the dojo or maybe even an official tailor to make sure the gui fits properly. gimme a break with this crap..

Hmm.. well i heard it, have to say i wasnt overly impressed, he sounds pretty generic, talking about the same old stuff. Delivery is good though, just the content is kind of weak.

Well, you can find most stuff on public trackers, and i think pirate bay is a public tracker so you dont need to register.
What i do is use a torrent search engine, theres a bunch of them, the best one ive noticed and the one i use all the time is. http://www.torrentz.com it searches alot of other torrent sites and links you right to download page.
If your talking about mma, theres some private trackers that have stuff you wont find on public trackers. Those sites need registration and you also have to maintain a ratio, like upload as much as you download to keep your account active or they will ban you. Most private trackers are already at the maximum number of members already so you would need an invite from a member.
I think i told you about fullcontactzone before, its a pretty good private site, give that a shot if you didnt before.

I also read up a bit on the whole Nandrolone steroid thing, i know its been discussed before but just to reiterate. Heres what i read.

Nandrolone binds to the androgen receptor to a greater degree than testosterone, but due to its inability to act on the muscle in ways unmediated by the receptor, has less overall effect on muscle growth. The drug is also unusual in that unlike most anabolic steroids, it is not broken down into the more reactive DHT by the enzyme 5α-reductase, but rather into a less effective product known as Dihydronandrolone. As such, some of the negative effects associated with most such drugs are somewhat mitigated. Because nandrolone is not broken down into DHT, the deleterious effects common to most anabolic steroids on the scalp, skin, and prostate are lessened to a degree. The lack of alkylation on the 17α-carbon drastically reduces the drug’s liver toxicity.”
“Urine analysis as a method of detecting nandrolone abuse has recently become somewhat controversial, following studies by the University of Aberdeen showing that the metabolite product can also show up in urine in quantities above the upper limit from a combination of high-protein diets utilising the legal nutritional supplement creatine and hard cardiovascular exercise. Heres what i think, the ambigueity regarding Nandrolone results has been around since early 2000 in the olympics, its not a new thing. Im sure Sherks nutritionist and trainer knew very well what his combination of diet, supplements and training would result in.
Judging by the fact that its less effective than actual doping and its technically produced naturally, i think they felt they would “get away with it”. A big part of Sherks defense case is a polygraph test he passed where he honestly states he never took Nandrolone. I think hes just trying to be deceptive, although its true he didnt actually TAKE Nandrolone, i think he and his team knew what they were doing.
I think Sherk should be stripped of the title and i think they will agree with me at the hearing tomorrow.

No Patrick, i dont think he actually TOOK Nandrolone at all, what he did was intentionally use a specific combination of diet, supplements and training that is known to boost your own “natural” level of Nandrolone to an elevated amount. So basically he did it the hard way, through products that you are allowed to use so it might be considered legit.
All that matters in my opinion is the end result, which was an unnatural level of Nandrolone in his system. I dont care how it was achieved, but i believe this was planned by his team and they thought they could slide by on a technicallity. Theyre pleading ignorance as if they didnt know what would happen.. ya right..

alot of people would agree with you Patrick, but the problem arises where if thats acceptable, then other guys might start taking the drug directly instead of going through all the trouble Sherk does. So they could just take the drug and say it was achieved naturally and theres no way to prove them wrong, thats why it cant be allowed at all.

Like i said earlier, it cant be allowed because theres no way to prove it happened that way either. So everyone will just start pill popping and saying theyre doing it naturally. So they cant let Sherk off, it would be bad for mma.
