Press release that came out today said that UFC 81 on Super Bowl weekend will be $44.99 instead of $39.99.

There was speculation at UFC 81 would be free on CBS due to statements that Terry Martin made a few weeks ago, but no deal has been worked out yet.

According to this UFC press release about UFC 81 the price will be $44.99 on PPV.

So is there an official fight card for UFC 81 yet?, I haven’t been able to keep up with all of the updates for all of the UFCs and Ultimate Fight Nights. I certainly hope they are not planning for Frank Mir to be the main event once again?

At the moment, the only fight the UFC has officially announced is Mir vs Lesnar.

However it is pretty much known that the following fights will take place:

Antonio Nogueira vs. Tim Sylvia (most likely the main event)
Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
Nathan Marquardt vs. Thales Leites
Tyson Griffin vs. Gleison Tibau
Terry Martin vs. Marvin Eastman
David Heath vs. Tomasz Drwal

Ok, well than that’s definitely worth the money.

AND DUE TO THE LACK OF BOUTS ON THAT CARD THATS WHY ITS GONNA BE ME GOING TO HOOTERS AND WATCHING FIGHTS THERE AND NOT PAYIN NOT 45 DOLLARS…

I actually think it’s a pretty decent card. I’m sure a guy like Lesner is asking for a big payday and everyone is going to to want to see if he is the real thing. However, I am more interested in seeing Sylvia fight a REAL

Ofcourse im the only one in the world whos a fan of Tim Sylvia, but win or lose this is the perfect opportunity for Tim to come out of his shell and take some risks in this fight. If hes timid in this one Minotauro will finish him by submission because he WILL get the takedown. Its time for Tim to let those hands go baby! imagine Tim knocked out Nog? give all those haters a giant sht sandwich to chew on hehe, i would love it!

Quit saying your the ONLY fan of Tim Sylvia .. not true man.. my whole bankroll was won on Tim…I am a fan as well ..

okok nice to see im not the only one then Kansas, but you know what i mean. Certain guys are just widely despised, like Tim, Hughes or the Shamrocks. I know im not the only fan, but one of the few..

Frank Shamrock too, i wish they would pull some strings and get him in the UFC, or more appropriately.. reach deep into theyre pockets and sign Frank. They werent willing to reach deep for Fedor so they definately wont do it for Frank.. sigh.. Hes still an awesome fighter man, hes got a well rounded game and hes in excellent shape. Put him in against someone like Marquardt or Okami and you will see how the experience pays off. If he was paid enough to be serious about the UFC im sure he could beat Anderson Silva or Rich Franklin, but i dont think he could handle Hendo

I just saw a report on Sherdog saying Minotauro is fighting for HCF on feb 1??? if thats the case, i dont see how he could be fighting Tim aswell.. come to think of it, UFC wouldnt let any of their guys fight on another show.. im confused.. heres the link..

OMG.. if they got Frank in there.. talk about some depth at 185… bisping, shamrock, and silva, with franklin, hendo, omg… that would be a stacked division… but it wont happen because the UFC spends a ton on promotion and they skim on signing talent … sorry not to knock them but its evident …

Ya i agree 100%, theyre probably thinking, the longer they can keep purses as low as possible- the better. Once you pay 1 guy a ton more than everyone else, the other guys start wanting more too. Theyre basically trying to hold the fighters down and opress them lol. Is there any business in the world that doesnt do this? we should be happy they havent outsourced to china yet.. j/k
