So its official guys, Frank Shamrock vs Cung Le on March 29th. You know what, after years of inactivity and bowing out of the UFC as champ, Frank Shamrock is finally taking some risks.

His fights with Renzo and Baroni have showed Frank to be back in the saddle and looking to prove himself as a Champion. Now taking on Cung Le, hes putting himself in the cage against a relatively new fighter and we have all seen how surprisingly good these new guys can be. Cung Le has already proven himself to be a skilled and exciting fighter.

Alot of people hate Frank, but i think hes slowly been redeeming himself, not just saying hes the best, but by stepping into the cage and trying to prove it.

Ofcourse im backing Frank in this fight, but it should be a very exciting fight!

The thing is about Corey, he HAS only been really training for a year. You cant learn it all in a year hehe and according to Miletich he needs another good 2 years of solid training. So its not like hes gonna come into the cage next week as a fully trained fighter yet, but we should see ALOT of improvement.

If you look back at his fights on the show, forget about grappling, just his boxing skills, he didnt even have a good jab in his arsenal. The mechanics of his punches were all terrible, his movement wasnt deliberate for creating the distance and using his reach properly.

It will be very interesting to see how far hes come so far.

well i guess i agree with that, it is his "best" tecnique, and his favorite, but in the past 11 years he hasnt submitted anyone by leglock. Thats why i say, i cant see it happening.

I do believe he has KO power, though he doesnt have great boxing for it to be much use. His last KO was against Kimo, where he caught him with a knee.

But like i said, if he connects clean, thats his only hope of winning the fight, or ANY fight now that i think about it.

hes got a punchers chance.

I never said he's leg locking guys lately. I said it's his best technique. KO power? I don't believe I've ever seen him KO anyone. I said he would lose either way but giving him KO power is still a reach.

Patrick, the point is his SIZE, in the show he had zero mma training. He had a bit of wrestling in the junior div. i think. His talent, is his god given size, just like Sylvia, and his natural athleticism. Now combining that with some serious mma training which hes had at MFS for the past year, and he could be a monster.

If he works as hard as Forrest Griffin does in the gym, im sure all the hard work will pay off, i mean, hes got a full FOOT over some of the LW fighters like Sherk for example.

Pat Miletich made Tim Sylvia a champ, theres no denying that, if hes 100% dedicated to being a pro fighter, im sure he will have a great future ahead of him.

Look how well he did against Diaz, a guy whos been training in mma his entire life! he held his own for a while against the champ of the show, and he did it with no training! thats an accomplishment man.

I disagree, i dont think hes leg locking anyone these days. About 10 years ago when leg locks were not a part of the common mma training regiment, Ken had some advantage there, tapping out alot of guys.

These days, i guarantee you hes not leg locking anyone man. You seriously think Ken Shamrock could submit Frank by with a leg lock?

What he has going for him, is that hes got KO power and if he connects, he can hurt you. Hes got a punchers chance against Frank, plain and simple.

I do agree that Frank would win this fight either standing or on the ground.
