MMA HQ Fight Camp Standings

MMA HQ Fight Camp Standings

So, needless to say, this past weekend has been extremely slow with MMA news and not much action has been posted here to MMA HQ.

To keep the discussion flowing I thought I’d post the current MMA HQ Fight Camp Standings at MMAPlayground.com so far. Collectively, we have 15 members and a camp record of 613-392 over the past 2 seasons for a 61% winning percentage.

The current standings for Season 3 are as follows:

Points

1) gus - 101
2) MMAHQ - 100
3) littlenurselaura -93
4) maxx - 86
5) bvrasp - 85
6) RjStCroix - 76
7) MikeD - 75
7) Drehog - 75
8) Amir - 74
9) The_Frog - 41
10) zzzak - 33
11) MMAKansas - 15
12) Bola14 - 0

Earnings

1) MMAHQ - $2,830
2) littlenurselaura - $1,540
3) bvrasp - $1,526
4) gus - $1,450
5) Drehog - $1,290
6) maxx - $1,275
7) MikeD - $1,215
8) The_Frog - $1,190
9) zzzak - $1,160
10) MMAKansas - $1,075
11) RjStCroix - $710
12) Amir - $255

What I find more interesting and actually more informative is each persons career record and winning percentage. It possible to strike it rich or get a significant amount of points without actually predicting many fights accurately, while the career record doesn’t lie. For instance, gus currently is leading season 3 with 101 points over 2 events but he has only picked 11 out of 19 fights correctly and actually has the worst winning percentage over the whole fight camp.

Here are the winning percentage leaders (only for those who have picked at least 50 total fights)

1) MMAHQ - 71% (75-31)
2) Amir - 67% (60-30)
3) MikeD - 64% (58-32)
4) bvrasp - 63% (54-32)
5) zzzak - 60% (39-26)
6) Drehog - 60% (54-36)
7) Bola14 - 59% (34-24)
8) littlenurselaura - 58% (42-30)
9) RjStCroix - 56% (50-40)
10) The_Frog - 52% (34-32)
11) gus - 50% (35-35)

For those who have only picked under 50 fights total (these numbers are less usefull since the sample size is smaller):

1) jasongatties - 71% (30-12)
2) maxx - 65% (11-6)
3) MMAKansas - 61% (17-11)
4) Bifff - 57% (20-15)

Overall, I think we have a pretty strong camp and hopefully we can crack the Top 10 overall this season as a fight camp. Good luck to everyone for UFC 81 this weekend.

I’m gonna be honest, I still have no idea who I’m gonna pick in most of the fights this weekend.

Comment by Dr J about 8 months, 1 week ago

Overall for season 3 were are #46 in the “middelweight division” with our 64% group winning percentage, a 118-67 record and a $1,270 average bankroll. (The middleweight division is any fight camp with between 11 and 20 members.) The #1 middleweight team right now only has a 66% winning percentage with a 118-61 record, but they have an average bankroll of $2,637.

If you look only at winning percentage we are at #29 right now, but its our average bankroll that is killing us in the overall rankings.

Wow.. so were right there man, we could definately get into the top10, especially if we start working together. Like for the betting atleast, discuss the best bets etc.. its even more important now with the parlay bets, if we dont jump on that, we could be left in the dust!

Comment by Dr J about 8 months, 1 week ago

yeah, we are right there.

the thing that take us down is the wagering since a few of us try to “hit it big” every time by everything on the biggest underdog.

as far as predictions though, we are pretty good as a camp and almost in the top 10.

I’ve had a bad first couple events to start the new season. Hopefully I can make better choices this weekend. Alot of these fights can go either way so I’m not real confident but I think I will have an improvement over the last couple of outings. I’m wagering more this time so we’ll see how that works out.

Comment by Dr J about 8 months, 1 week ago

yeah, quite a few fights on this card can really go either way. a lot of them are tough to call

I just rechecked my wagers and the odds for this event are teribble. I guess I’ll go for it anyway and see if we can get more in our bankroll.

Comment by bvrasp about 8 months, 1 week ago

dont forget to make a parlay bet Mad

Comment by MAD about 8 months, 1 week ago

I know the parlay bets pay well but I forgot how they work. Can you give me a brief idea so we can try and grow our camp bank?

@Mad

the parlay bets is the boxes on the left of the fighter names. Pick a maximum of 4 fighters and at the bottom is the parlay wager amount. Click the boxes you want and fill in the amount of the bet and hit update wagers.

I think we’re doing fine, just need to stay consistent, maybe lay off the long shots. Also don;t forget to re-pick the Belcher Almeida fight. Should be some easy points, as yundt looks completely out classed.

Has anyone else been having trouble updating their picks from the playground? I’ve been trying to make some last minute updates and it seems the site is having trouble. With Beltcher out I wanted to update my pick but it won’t let me. The wagers also are not taking. I was just wondering if it’s just happening to me or if everyone is experiencing the same thing.

Comment by Dr J about 8 months, 1 week ago

I was able to update my picks this morning without any problem.

I’d give it a few minutes and try again in a bit.

Comment by MAD about 8 months, 1 week ago

Alright I was finally able to update.
