While Kimbo Slice continues to get all the fame and glory as the “premier” underground street-fighter to enter the ranks of MMA, without a doubt, the best fighter to come out of the Miami internet street-fighting craze is Jorge Masvidal.
Masvidal improved his pro MMA record to 13-2 last night with a unanimous decision victory over Ryan Healy in the Strikeforce at the Dome event shown on HDNet. Healy, a strong boxer with Sportfight and WEC experience proved no match for Masvidal’s aggressiveness and takedowns. While Masvidal didn’t look as sharp as he has in past fights, he didn’t take any significant damage and fought a good technical battle.
I think Jorge is smart to take his MMA career progress slowly and build some solid experience. Now with victories over Joe Lauzon and Yves Edwards to his credit, Masvidal continues to show he has what it takes to be a decent contender in the lightweight division. Down the road, keep an eye out for this guy when he pops up in the UFC, WEC, or EliteXC.

Hey Doc, How bout Riggs? looks like he injured his back that night, they had to take him out on a stretcher after tapping out to a takedown. Looks like Riggs is in a serious downward spiral in his mma career. Once the UFC WW gatekeeper, now it looks like he doesnt have much of a future left in the sport..
its too bad, Riggs is one tough dude, hope he isnt too seriously injured.
According to Rigg’s agent Ken Pavia, Joe has a disc problem and is having surgery to freeze a nerve that is up against one of his disks.
Hope he makes out fine. No one has had a tougher few years than Joe Riggs with losing his infant child, not making weight against Matt Hughes, having two back surgeries, overcoming addiction to painkillers, and now this. I guess when it rains it pours

Doc, another thing.. any info as to the fightcard for the first DREAMS show? I heard that Cavalcante is fighting Aoki, nice matchup could be very interesting..
Plans are still very up-in-the-air. The card is supposed to be the start of their lightweight grand prix tournament. The only “official” fight so far is Aoki vs JZ, practically everyone and their brother is expected to be in the 16-man tourney.

I been reading up on the UFC 2009 video game this morning, heres what i found out..
They plan to announce the release date at the UFC 84 event. They always seem to showcase their games at UFC events and the release dates are never more than a month or 2 after they advertise it.
There was alot of speculation about this game, people thought it would be out next year, or at best this xmas. Now it looks like it will be much sooner, probably around july of this year.

Exactly, now you know why i havent been on 360 in months lol. The only thing i played online for a long time was Gears of War. Im not a fan of Halo or Call of Duty 4 or the tons of other 1st person shooters…
Theres no good games man lol, look how long the 360 and ps3 have been out, and theres only a couple games worth playing. This year should be ok tho, a bunch of stuff set to come out.
