ok im a bit annoyed about the weigh in thing. the last three UFCs in a row they have said tune in to the weigh-ins live at 4:00pm/ET and everyone of them were no were to be found till WAY later in the night. im pretty hardcore about my MMA and i love watching the weigh-ins and prefight hype and it really takes the wind out of my sails having to wait till 10 or 11 o’clock to get to see the thing they advertise will happen at 4:00pm. well that my rant for the day lol.

Comment by Amir about 9 months, 1 week ago

Apparently not, I’ve benn waiting for almost a f–ing hour and the weigh-ins still haven’t started..wtf…

Comment by Amir about 9 months, 1 week ago

Never mind…THE WEIGH-INS ARE OVER ALREADY…THIS IS F—ING BULLSH-T…I wanted to see them live as promised and UFC.com has already posted the results.

Comment by R.J. St.Croix about 9 months, 1 week ago

yeah it doesnt look like there gonna show them at all eh? im gonna check yahoo sports cuz they show em too if i find anything i will post them for you guys too see.

Comment by R.J. St.Croix about 9 months, 1 week ago

yea it appears that none of the usual sources have the weigh-in videos. i checked UFC, msnbc, yahoo, and espn it seems the UFC dropped the ball on this one, not cool UFC not cool at all. way to let the hardcore fans down. i hope they realize that they have been doing things lately that are making the fly-by-night fans happy but are pissing off the REAL fans that will still be here after the crowd thins out from being bored of this “Ultimate Fighting” craze! i guess i lied the rant continues lol.

Comment by bvrasp about 9 months, 1 week ago

guys, you can find the full weigh-ins as a torrent on mma tracker

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months, 1 week ago

Hey.. The “Spider” has a freaking reach on Hendo ehh?

Comment by R.J. St.Croix about 9 months, 1 week ago

aw man i as just going to make you an honorary Canadian and you go and add a second H to your eh lol…. yeah i know what you mean i didnt think Anderson was that much taller then Hendo. Silva has good reach on guys his own hight im sure he’ll have a few inches on Dan.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months, 1 week ago

Well,
I can see Anderson using that reach to keep Dan out of take down territory just like Tim Sylvia did to Monson, who knows, I know when Yushin Okami took him down, he caught a foot to the head and got knocked out, of course Anderson got disqualified but nevertheless I think the “Spyder” is gonna do well, just because he is good, now as far as Hendo goes, he has strength, yep, and he has heart, more than Anderson in my opinion, he can take the worst of it and keep coming, so we will see if Anderson can keep dropping bombs from a long distance for 5 rounds to keep Hendo off because I don’t see Hendo getting knocked out easily…. Henderson has great confidence EH?

Comment by bvrasp about 9 months, 1 week ago

One thing is for sure, if Anderson wins this fight, it will be the biggest win in his career. For me personally it would solidify his place as the best MW fighter in the world bar none and the best pound for pound fighter in the world bar none.

Either way, its gonna be a hell of a fight man! If Hendo somehow cant get the takedown, hes gonna take alot of abuse from Silva and show the american fans his heart and he would STILL have the chance to land that lucky right hand. On the ground Dans a beast, but Anderson is a great BJJ guy, anything can happen there too even.

In a nutshell, this fight will be competative no matter what happens, its gonna be CRAAAAZYY! hehe

I watched Hendo vs Nog last night, even giving up like 40 pounds, Dan is strong as hell man, cant wait for the fight tonight.

Comment by R.J. St.Croix about 9 months, 1 week ago

i dont think the UFC did an all access for this event so no one will fall victim to the dreaded All Access curse lol. it seems like this event didnt get a lot of hype till just this week, even though the main event tonight is gonna a good one. im thinking the hype for this event kinda got overshadowed by all the hoopla around the Montreal show early on.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months, 1 week ago

Well guys… everyone here on this site seems to thinks its Hendo all the way.. GNP .. okay fair enough, however even if Hendo did win, Silva has done nothing but win for the past 3 years so it’s one loss, however, where does Hendo go after 2 consecutive losses in the UFC and 2 consecutive title shots, (unheard of generally)?

Thoughts?

Personally, I like both fighters, but I am betting Silva on this one..

Comment by bvrasp about 9 months, 1 week ago

Nah Kansas, RJ is with Silva too, Either way you slice it, its the #1 and #2 MWs in the world, question is, whos #1 and whos #2? lol

is there any non-believers left. Silva could have pound out Dan for the TKO just as easy as he got the choke from the back. i told yall this man is a bad muthafuka!

Comment by bvrasp about 9 months, 1 week ago

Gotta hand it to Silva man, hes the best in the world, nobody can dispute that anymore. First round went much as i expected, then in the 2nd, I dunno what his corner was yelling at him lol, but it was exactly what he needed to hear. I really thought Dan was going to fight off the choke for another 5 sec to make it to the 3rd, but after he pulled the arm off Silva switched his grip ala Hughes vs Trigg. Great job to get Dan out of there man, Nog wasnt able to submit Dan with a rear naked, but Silva did. ****, hes a G what else is there to say? lol

Comment by R.J. St.Croix about 9 months, 1 week ago

the first round went bad for Silva and i gave it to Hendo no problem and i was a bit worried for a min. or two but like BV said what ever they were yelling at Anderson worked. they probably said “come on Spider, this dudes spanking you” and he yelled back “im gonna make him my b*tch” lol. i was saying to my brother-in-law last night it would be funny if Silva KOed Dan in like 15 ala Arlovski vs. Buentello and crush the iron jaw theory, but then we were talking about how Anderson wont even throw anything for at least the first min. and if you watch the fight again you’ll see at 55sec. in Silva starts bouncing around a little more and throws a leg kick at 1:09 in and he lands one more leg kick, a right and left, and a head kick, eating a counter or two in the process. the next thing that happens gave me a new respect for Hendo, Silva throws a nasty front kick that lands flush on Dans chin (i watched in slowmo like 500 times) the kick completely deforms Dan face for a second and if you slow it down it looks like Dans jaw unhinges like a snake and he didnt even wobble and gets the take down shortly after to own the rest of the round. in the second round Silva was hurting Dan and im thinking if the fight had made it to the third Dan may have gotten KOed. all in all it was a good fight and i know i got hyped because when i look over at my wife she was giving me that “sit down and stop cussing” look lol.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months, 1 week ago

Yep good assessment, I don’t know why few others haven’t posted more on this card and on this fight, Hendo did great in round one, had me worried too… seriously.. but when I saw Silva stand up at the end of the round, no cuts, no scrapes, no blood, no marks, and a fully charged battery with the “that sucked, not going down there to get wailed on again” look, I knew that his head was in it and he was gonna come back and own Henderson, he ALMOST knocked Hendo out, and I think its best that Hendo went down (semi-concious) and grabbed the legs so as to set up an eventual submission by Anderson, because if no, R.J. I agree, Danny would have gotten KNOCKED OUT in the 3rd no questions, he almost got knocked out in the 2nd… well, Dan was good, but no better than Travis Lutter in the end save a good first round, but he never made it past the second round, guess the question is, WHO IS NEXT on the Brazilians hit list and WHAT is next for Dan (cant win at 185 & cant win at 205) Henderson…

(Comments wont nest below this level)
Comment by bvrasp about 9 months ago

WHAT is next for Dan (cant win at 185 & cant win at 205)

haha, i wouldnt say that Kansas, just cuz he lost to 2 champs in a row, doesnt mean he cant win at both divisions. Though i think 185 is where he belongs, id still be excited to see Dans next fight, hes #2 in the world at 185 in my opinion.

What RJ didnt cover in his recap was Dans tactics during the fight. He was very much still a Pride fighter in there using tactics like covering Andersons mouth. The point is not to suffocate him, the deprivation of oxygen in intended to gas the guy out quicker, obviously Dan was looking to take te fight to the later rounds. As we have all seen, Silva likes to finish the fight within 2 rounds, we havent seen him go 5, it could be a weakness, but we dont know, he sure looks like he could go 5 with alot of energy to me.

Also, Dans GnP was not up to par in the UFC, he was working over Silvas eardrum with those hammerfists, but thats not gonna cut it man, if your using that wrestling GnP style in the UFC, you need BOWS. I think Dan will be back strong hopefully with some elbows in his arsenal.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months ago

I think your assessment is correct and well put..no bs.. maybe Doc needs you to submit post fight assessment to replace the now non-existent Gatties’ articles, none of which I ever read, (lol) you know Gatties didn’t even make picks on this event, thats why he is at 71% and still at number 2 on playground behind me because he freaking is sitting on that number and doing nothing..

Comment by bvrasp about 9 months ago

WHO IS NEXT on the Brazilians hit list?

Silva is now the best striker and best submission guy in the world at 185, and pound for pound the best fighter in the world.

but you notice the amount of boos he got from the crowd though? Probably from the fact that they were in Ohio and they hate him because he beat Franklin. Silva mentioned that Franklin was the toughest guy he ever fought, you think he was just saying that to try and get on the good side of the fans??

anyways, i found it very disrespectful of the audience, how can you boo thins guy? HES THE BEST! and hes not cocky about it, he classy as they come and he deserves that love baby. He beat up my boys Franklin and Hendo BADLY, and it hurt a little bit, but i dont hate him for it, exactly the opposite, his respect level has gone through the roof with me!

So whats next for Anderson? tough question, whats Joe Silva gonna set up? or what would I like to see?

What i would love to see is Silva vs Frank Shamrock, though he clearly outclasses Frank standing AND on the ground, i think it would be a good scrap ending in 1st round KO, great fight for the fans hehe.

I would also love to see Silva meet GSP at 177.5 or something.. even as an exhibition match, who cares about belts, its about fights! and what a matchup that would be! imagine the standing war! daaaam.

JOE SILVA is probably considering these guys…

Belchers fighting next month, if he wins that fight he would be in position to face a tougher opponent before he would get a title shot, so hes out..

Leites isnt slated for any fights any time soon, but he doesnt really have the experience to get a title shot, so hes out..

Ed Herman is coming off a win over Doerkson since moving up to 185 and hes been on a bit of a streak, he should win his next fight easily, but again, he just moved up, he needs more time before a title shot happens..

Other than that, we got Franklin, Okami, Marquardt, Mcdonald and Hendo at the top of the division. All of whom Silva has already beat DECISIVELY..

so whos next? we shall have to see, its gonna be a long time before he has to defend that belt again in my opinion, atleast another 9 months before someone makes a statement in the division and is deserving of a title shot.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months ago

If I were GSP I wouldn’t accept a fight with Silva… he would give up height, and would have to add pounds, plus reach, I would have to say that Silva would be GSP’s match… he is riding a wave right now, and did you see Silva eat Hendo’s overhand right, like 2 times, and he just shook it off and charged like a bull, didn’t hardly faze him a bit, just got him more excited and focused, I don’t see GSP being better at ground game than Hendo, and Hendo couldn’t get it done there… so I don’t see GSP happening, otherwise the UFC kills the stock in one of their champions and that devalues a divisional leader in the long run… I can see several 205ers moving down to 185 to fight Anderson Silva, depending on who wins the Jardine/Silva fight, one of them could move down. Short fuse would get killed in less time than Leben in my opinion, what a lamb to the slaughter if that fight would happen.. .perhaps the UFC should just let Silva fight the next person in line and let him keep destroying people, its fun to watch, why is everyone looking for the guy that can dethrone him? I mean thats what Hendo was brought in at 185 for huh? To kill the unmarketable Brazilian fenom that nobody could beat, bring the marketable Texas all American in to unify the titles and beat the guy who beat Rich Franklin, and while we are at it, host the darn fight in Ohio????? lol… nobody at 185 can beat him right now.. nobody…

the whole card was not bad too. even though Fitch vs. Wilson went the distance it was entertaining enough to be good. all im gonna say about Okami vs. Tanner is this fight made me sad and Okami threw a wicked knee, Tanner didnt look like he should be there even before the fight started. he had a look on his face like “i shouldnt be fighting this guy” he almost looked scared. then there was the Leben fight… ok on to Herring vs. Kongo lol. as far as i could tell this fight could have gone ether way and Herring win further screwed up the heavy weight rankings in the UFC. the Koscheck fight was decent but i would rather them show the Arlovski fight but i knew we wouldnt get to see that one no matter how it went down. this year is starting to really shape up well for the UFC and if the next few cards are as good as they should be this year is gonna get better and better and better.

Comment by PATRICK about 9 months, 1 week ago

hellllll yeaaaaa go pitbulllllllll!!!!
can someone post a link of the arlovski fight????i cant find it????/

Comment by Amir about 9 months, 1 week ago

YES…PLEASE POST THE ARLOVSKI FIGHT…

I don’t know what all the hoopla was about Kongo’s ground game which was,in my opinion, non-existent. He attempted 0 submissions. Heath Herring is another guy that drives me crazy. He has a lot of power in his hands and great grappling and submissions defense, but he fights with absolutely no brains.

Everytime they re-played his “highlight” against Noguiera…they show him jumping on Nog and swinging wildly like an amateur schoolgirl…as if he’s never been in a professional MMA fight. There’s nothing I hate more in sports that a pro athlete with all the potential in the world who always limits himself…here in NY we call him Eddy Curry…lol. So far, it looks to me that Kongo’s arrogance is his biggest downfall. He needs to take his ego down a notch and learn the ground game…and he can be a great champion one day.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months, 1 week ago

I really do think that Congo has developed a much better ground game, it was astounding that he actually chose to take the fight to the ground the whole time, he REFUSED to stand and trade with Herring and he has been training up at big bear with Rampage/Tito and Co so you know that all they train is takedowns, slams, GNP.. thats it… he showed ZERO ground game in his last two fights so I guess Amir that it wasn’t WOW but it was WHOA what the heck is he doing… in my opinion, i thought that it devalued his stock in the UFC because his fight was BORING..

@BV
your the king of finding crap on the web man! Thanks for the link! Man, Joe Rogan as I have said before, really tows the line in the commentary role… I hate it… he hyped up Hendo the whole fight, he hyped up Chuck when he was fighting Wandy…. he just freaking picks his FAV, (that would be whomever Dana tells him his fav is) and beats down the other guy… he just verbally shot down Arlovski the whole freaking fight, but i love it that just when he was saying Arlovski didn’t have it anymore, he hasn’t done anything the whole fight, Jake is gonna win it, Andrei is basically finished, BOOM Arlovski gets the take down and starts a GNP hehe… I don’t think Andrei wasn’t strong enough to strike HARDER on the ground, I just don’t think he felt it was necessary to keep doing it harder, I mean O’brien was getting hit, and if Andrei had wanted to, he could have wiped the guys head off.. so it was a boring fight until the finish which is when it was exciting, but good for Andrei pulling out a TKO.. you can tell it was planned to really just sink him though, an opponent for him that was 10-0, sticking him on the under card, Rogan bashing him the whole fight, and an opponent that was a boring “molester wrestler” …. yep ….. Dana and Joe can EAT THAT! hehe…

Comment by bvrasp about 9 months ago

lol Kansas, that fight to me basically, was Obrien spending half the fight with his face buried in Arlovskis crotch, half the fight trying to suckle on Arlovskis nipplezs.. and the ending of Arlovski sweeping, getting mount, then what i heard in my head was, “how do you like it Jake? huh? huh? stop hitting yourself! stop hitting yourself!” lol.

Comment by MMAKansas about 9 months ago

OMG! HHAAAAAAAHHHHH! I agree man you could dub in audio and put that on “YOUTUBE” man! HAHA! yeah.. boring fight but Andrei won his 3rd straight and with a TKO so I mean what do they want, he is in sub prime form fighting “wrestlers”, and until you feed him a guy he can rip apart like a kitten, he is gonna just keep pulling out “okay” wins… he has been the victim of bad match ups lately in my opinion..

Comment by R.J. St.Croix about 9 months ago

Arlovski did the same thing when he beat Cruz. its like when he get in a dominate spot and it looks real bad for the other guy he sits and looks at the ref while beating the other guy down saying “ok ref you gonna save this guy soon or what? i can do this all day but im getting bored.” lol.
