ICON Sport crowned a new middleweight champion last Saturday night as Kala Kolohe Hose defeated Phil Baroni early in the fifth round via strikes. i dont know if Baroni just suck now or if he always kinda sucked and we just never really noticed.
I think Baroni pretty much always was a middle of the pack guy.
He’s a meat-head with some KO power but not much else. Although he did pull off that nice submission victory at Pride 32.
But if you look at his record he really has lost to pretty much everyone with any real skills other than Chonan. The fight with Hose was a pretty good fight to watch though, you gotta give the guy credit for that.
yeah Baroni has always been one of those guys i watched because he usually puts on a good scrap. and a lot of time you get to see a highlight reel finish. its funny Phil did even know the name of the sub he used in PRIDE 32 lol he is a meathead for sure but thats why he funny to watch lol
