UFC.com is reporting that Jason Day will step in to replace Chris Leben and fight Michel Bisping at UFC 85 this June in London, England.
We reported earlier today that Leben had been pulled from the fight after being sentenced to 35 days in jail for a DUI warrant in Oregon.
“Obviously I was looking forward to the Leben fight but I guess it wasn’t to be,†said Bisping. “You have to respect Jason Day for stepping in on even shorter notice than myself. I am looking forward to really putting on a great performance in London.”
“I love this fight,†said Day. “Everybody’s been asking me who would I like to fight next, and I said Bisping, but who would have thought it would have come about so quickly. He’s a great fighter, an exciting fighter, tough as nails, and everybody wants that marquee fight where you get the guy that tests you and you slug it out for two or three rounds. I think he’s a pretty good test for me.â€

hey man Day put a beatin on Belcher at 83. Belcher is a tough kid and Day beat em like he stole something, i think “DoomsDay” is gonna do just fine and im kinda excited to see this fight.

im not saying im going to pick Day to win but its not going to be a cake walk for Bisping ether. this fight will be good for both involved, it will be a step up for Day and if he does well his stock will go up and it’ll be a test for Bisping to see were hes really at, at 185lbs. with a real game opponent. it should be fun to watch, and im starting to change my mind on whether im going to buy UFC85.

Wand is a fans fighter for sure, the guy loves brawl and it doesn’t really matter who he brawls with. i remember watching him fight in IVC before i even knew who he was and i was thinking to myself “this man must be locked in a cage before and after his fights” dude was even more of a wild animal back then. can you imagine if Wanderlei fought Chuck at IVC6 instead of Liddell vs. Pele and Silva vs. Van Arsdale, two young bucks could have put on a show. but then again im glad they waited because it made the fight so much more worth while.

Because Richard for one… I don’t see Wand lasting at LHW much longer, he’s too short so he might as well make it count, he was nervous on his debut, of course I think that played into the fight, against him… I would like to see him fight Rampage, or Forrest as well, but really, another shot at Liddell, perhaps in London on neutral territory this time..

Yes I can see that.. I can also see a legend like Matt Hughes cutting down to 155 ripped and taking BJ on in the final war of a Trilogy and ending his career there after 1-2 more at Welterweight…
Also … if you go to Wands blog he just posted two videos … they are on youtube as well… basically doing an interview for Tatame which is a brazilian fight mag/site and my wife just finished translating it for me.. he is considering this possibly his last fight at 205.. if he loses to Jardine, he will move to 185 … count on it, he is already talking a move down, he was going to do it before they called him and asked him to fight Jardine.. he admits he is too short and his arms are too short to compete at 205 so he is probably going to move down win lose or draw, he was saying a 20lb drop in weight would be very easy for him he walks around at 208-210, sometimes after training down below 205 at 199 … so yeah.. I DO think he will move to Middleweight, and fight a couple three then go on to fight his namesake in “the Spider” ..

Whatever Patrick, if he loses again Jardine then its a sign that a 6ft 2 LWH has an advantage over a 5ft 11 LHW… it could go either way.. you weren’t saying that crap when Jardine beat Chuck… no pressure there cause it’s the “Iceman”.. but if its Wand ohhhh its win or go home ehhh??? oh man isn’t this PRIDE=juice thing getting a bit old? yes SOME guys from PRIDE used steroids, but so did guys from UFC including two of there former champs. so how did Sylvia come back to win a title because we all know as soon as you stop taking steroids you lose all ability right? think about it for a min. guys who came from PRIDE that were juicing had enough time figure things out, so i dont think roid is the answer. maybe, just maybe Shogun lost because he couldn’t train well due to injury (knee) or he had to many things going on at home (wedding) or maybe Forrest just beat him because he was just able to beat him.
oh ya Kansas, its pretty cool how Rampage has had so much success in the UFC without his roids. Let me guess Rampage is one of the guys who didnt use roids right? because hes a winner in the UFC, and anyone from Pride who lost was on roids..

im saying my opionion and the reason for it, rampage looks the same as he did in pride.Now everyone knows that that they testing in japan wasnt carried out like it should have been so no one could be sure that anyone of those guys have been clean.
And Wand looks the same as well Richard.. bad point.. Shogun looked out of shape, probably because he tore his ACL 6 weeks before the fight and just rested hoping he could eek out a win .. ohh that doesn’t count nor does it matter.. also Forrest was so out to win, he may well have trained harder than he ever has while Shogun barely trained underestimating his opponent…. only one I see that probably DID do roids for a while and who has almost admitted it was Mirko.. you can pick it up if you read his past statement regarding Congo…

first of all i never doubted the punching power of wandy,but he looks slimmer now not as bulky as in pride or shall i say he has lost a lot of muscle and doesnt look as chizzled.

i heard about a week and a half ago from a guy who trains at the same gym that he hasnt been back since before the Silva, im not stating this is fact or anything just something i heard.
