Earlier in the week, we learned that Mark Coleman pulled out of a scheduled fight with Brock Lesnar at UFC 87 this August.
Ken Pishna at MMAWeekly.com is now reporting that Heath Herring will step in and fight Lesnar in Coleman’s place. Herring last fought at UFC 82 where he defeated Cheick Kongo.
UFC 87 will be the UFC’s first trip to Minnesota and will be headlined by a welterweight title fight between Georges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch.

I thought they were gonna give Lesnar aqn easier opponent.. Herring will destroy him man.. Coleman would have atleast wrestled with him, but Herring is gonna give him the old chin check.
He had a much better chance against Mir or even Coleman..
well at least we will get to see if Brock has anything at all to offer. i dont think Herring is going take Lesnar down and out-Jits him, he will probably wanna stand an bang as much as possible and if Lesnar gets knocked out standing in round one its a good indication that MMA is probably a little out of his reach, Brock is not going to get away with winning and then fighting lesser competitors and losing would be bad for him no matter what, its not good to start your UFC career at 0-2 with no previous MMA fan base.

I used to watch WWF when i was a kid, with Andrei the giant, Hogan, etc.. I can understand kids watching it, its almost like a live action cartoon.
But for adults? it seems kind of pointless, theres no actual wrestling prowess being displayed because theres no acutal contest going on.
its a mans soap opera, thats it, thats all. no amount of muscle bound steroid junkies will ever change that. it is not a sport, or a sporting event it is not “sports entertainment” as they call it. i will agree with it being entertainment (for some) just like monster truck rallies are entertainment. point is just because your in good shape doesn’t make you an athlete, Gerard Butler (King Leonidas in 300) is not a “sports actor” Glen Danzig (from the band Danzig) is not a “sports musician” i am not a “sports siding lackey” pro-wrestlers are actors, very big physically fit actors, but actors thats it. sports involve one side actually competing with the other.

Funny everyone talking about wrestling. I was talked into taking my son to the WWE Monday. The WWE came here to Denver for the first time in 5 years and my best friends brother is a fanatic. He bought a box at the Pepsi center for a couple grand that holds around 20 people. My son watches wrestling sometimes so I though it might be cool for him to see them live. You would not believe how many adault are really into it. They paint their face, dress up, do all sorts of kids stuff. I don’t understand what peeks people’s interest. When the matches started they are so fake and mock anything that resembles a real competition. I will never waste another dime on wrestling again. I would rather pay to see C level MMA than that crap. I did get a kick out of some of the true WWE fans there. I thought a Dungeons & Dragons convention was going to break out at the same time. Most look like nerds that never grew up. Funny stuff
