The UFC has finally officially announced UFC 88 scheduled for September 6. UFC 88 will mark the UFC’s first event in Atlanta, Georgia and will be headlined by Chuck Liddell vs Rashad Evans.

Liddell and Evans were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 85 this month, but Liddell had to withdraw from the fight due to a severe hamstring injury. Rashad Evans was eventually scratched from the fight card completely.

Tim Boetsch vs James Lee is the only other rumored fight for UFC 88 at the moment.

im not sure i cared much about this fight the first time the announced it, and not much has changed. Rashad gets a lot of hype for nothing really. a decision over Imes, Hoger, and Bonner put you at B class at best and pounding out Lambert doesnt bump him up much more, kicking Salmon head off was impressive but it means about jack sh*t as far as rankings go. he fought to a draw with a Tito who cant seem to buy a win since Shamrock and got a spit against a middle weight. i hope to see Chuck drop Rashad fast and hard and maybe he can work his way up for real this time.

and speaking of fighters im not fond of, Matt Hughes can be a real assshole at times and this is one of those times. this is an interview with Kim Couture talking about the feud between the Coutures and Matt Hughes (i didnt know anything about this till today) apparently Matt Hughes told a bunch of people that Kim was a stripper or hooker, anyway i’ll let yall read it for yourself:

let me know what you think.

i never heard about this before either RJ, sounds like something a country farm boy would say. He just assumed because she worked in a casino in vegas that she was a hooker or something. The evil big city ways hehe

but still, i liked that he said “im matt hughes, im an ******* and i owe you an apology” lol. Atleast he knows that alot of dumb sht comes out of his mouth at times..

it look like James Irvin is going to be Anderson Silvas next victim and the bout will be at light heavy:

Anderson with another 20lbs. of punching power is going to make it tough for anyone to stand with him and i dont see Irvin catching Silva with anything weird so this is going to be a hard one for the sandman.

but another 20 lbs will definately slow him down some, moving weight is always risky, it affects everyone different. Ofcourse Silva is still a big favorite, but anything can happen and clearly all the risk and pressure is on him and not Irvin.

also, how bout Hermes Franca vs Frankie Edgar? dam, that should be an exciting fight man!
