Unfortunately, the Quinton Jackson arrest ordeal from the other day continues to evolve and get somewhat worse.
After posting a $25,000 bail and being released from the Costa Mesa jail Tuesday evening, Jackson was again detained by police authorities on Wednesday and this time transported to a local mental health hospital.
Lieutenant Rick Handfield of the Irvine police department ahd the following to say about the subject,
“We were called to Jackson’s residence yesterday afternoon to help assist him and to ensure that he was not a danger to himself or others,” Handfield said. “We exhibited unusual behavior forthcoming from Jackson to the point that we became concerned along with friends and family that were present. We detained Jackson and took him to be seen by mental health professionals.”
While the UFC has not yet released any official statements on the matter, Dana White did appear on a Los Angeles area radio show and said the following,
“I’m actually here right now, I’m in Southern California,†White said during the interview. “I’ve been dealing with this all day yesterday, I haven’t really gotten to the bottom of this yet. I don’t know what I’m going to do about it yet. Last night when he got out, Rampage is very religious…yeah I’m dealing with it.”
The Daily Pilot News in Newport Beach, CA is also reporting that a pregnant woman may have been injured during Jackson’s driving incident on Tuesday:
Former light heavyweight Ultimate Fighting Championship title-holder Quinton “Rampage†Jackson injured a Huntington Beach woman and may have injured her unborn child when he drove down along the 55 freeway median, authorities and the woman said Wednesday.
Holli Griggs, 38, was driving her 2007 Cadillac Escalade in the left lane on the southbound 55 freeway just south of Bay Street when Jackson’s gray-and-green monster truck sideswiped her as it continued down the freeway at 45 mph, California Highway Patrol officer Jennifer Hink said. The freeway turns into Newport Boulevard just south of there and is typically clogged with traffic at about the time of the accident, 1:30 p.m.
Jackson could face felony charges of a hit and run because Griggs was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, Hink said. In an e-mail sent to the Daily Pilot, Griggs said she and her unborn baby, 16 and a half weeks along, were injured but was not sure to what extent.
Griggs said Jackson was acting “violent and reckless†and “had no regard for my life or anyone else’s for that matter.â€

like i said before this whole thing is going to get real f*cked before it gets better, i hope things turn out good for Rampage.
well, looks like hes on the right track now, he screwed up bigtime by running from the cops. Now, probably after talking to a lawyer, or dana relating lawyerly advice, hes playing the mental health card.
Considering what he did, i think this is really the best way for him to recover from this. A little anger management, some money in the right peoples pockets and a public apology and its like it never happened.
You gotta love star power.. if it was you or me, we would be in jail man, no question lol.
check this out. for you MSN users there is this thing called Spleak and its a bot that you add to your friends list, you can ask questions and get answers, tell it off, what ever but one thing you can do is get news on it, well my wife was pissin around with it and typed in Quinton Jackson and this is what it said:
- Spleak - FREE iPod! Type “win” to get it! says:
Quinton Jackson: Quenton “Rampage” Jackson lived up to his name by racking up charges of evading, reckless driving and hit-and-run. The crazy part is that he wasn’t even drunk, which means he is actually a full blown nutter. Can you say Mike Tyson 2.0? (by: Iceman - 1 Star)

that is the message it sent back word for word (i copy and pasted it) so yeah even the MSN bot knows about Rampage and has an opinion lol.
I hope so too - he lives in my neighborhood and recently moved in. I work out near his house, but if he’s not getting along with neighbors, and I catch him lying, as far as I’m concerned he’s got to move…. Or work it out, but no playing cards or manipulation if he wants the title of Champion… Need more honesty, and manipulation and violence are a hassle at best, terrifying at worst.
Man this sucks….
