Affliction held an official press conference yesterday to formally announce their upcoming Day of Reckoning event. The event will be held on October 11 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, NV.
The main fight card will consist of seven fights to be broad cast on Pay-Per-View, while the undercard will consist of three fights and be broadcast on HDNet.
The main event fight between Josh Barnett and Andrei Arlovski will be a “number one contender” fight and determine the next opponent for Fedor Emeleianenko’s WAMMA heavyweight belt.
Also officially announced were main card fights between Vladimir Matyushenko vs Antonio Nogueira and Matt Lindland vs Vitor Belfort. Two of three undercard bouts were also announced between Jason High vs Mike Pyle and Paul Buentello vs Roy Nelson.
Not announced were fights for newly signed fighters Chris Horodecki and Tito Ortiz. Ortiz is expected to face Renato Sobral on the fight card while an opponent for Horodecki is unknown at this time.
