Diego Sanchez Off UFC 90 Fight Card

The upcoming UFC 90 fight card continues to be shaken up as another fighter has pulled out of his scheduled fight due to injury.

Diego Sanchez was scheduled to fight Thiago Alves on the Pay-Per-View portion of the fight card, but had to pull out of the fight due to an injury to his rib cage that he suffered during training.

Josh Koscheck, who was thought to be fighting on a UFC Fight Night event this December, will now step in and replace Sanchez on short notice. Koscheck has been on fire during his UFC career only losing to Drew Fickett back in 2005 and Georges St. Pierre at UFC 74. Koscheck also handed Diego Sanchez his first loss at UFC 69.

Alves has been equally impressive winning eight of his last nine UFC fights with the only loss coming against Jon Fitch.

Many people assumed the Sanchez vs. Alves fight would determine who the next challenger for GSP’s welterweight title would be. It is uncertain if that still is the case, but I personally don’t see why it wouldn’t be.

UFC 90 is scheduled for October 25 and will be headlined by a UFC middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote.

well at least they brought in a good replacement. i dont like Kos at all but i gotta respect all he brings to the cage and i think hes has a better chance at winning then Diego did. im hoping to see Koscheck try and stand and throw those sloppy haymakers, that way he’ll get him self slapped into a coma and maybe then he will learn how to strike for real and Rogan can shut up about his super-awesome-much-improved striking.

i like sanchez better than kos,i think sanchez has way more tools to win against thiago but now thinking it would be nice to see kos KTFO.

So far we had Reljic, Sanchez and Almeida all drop out of UFC 90, i dont think ive ever seen a UFC card with with so many replacement fighters. Imagine the guys who actually bought tickets to this event.. wow that sucks bigtime..

its kinda like that one p.p.v. it was supposed to be Chuck Liddell vs. Shogun and Shogun had to drop out and Rashad Evans stepped in then Chuck had to drop out so Bisping had to step in, i think thats how it went lol. and yeah that would suck being a ticket holder and looking forward to a fight and it doesnt happen.

Nothing better happen to UFC 92 man, Mir vs Nog, Forrest vs Rashad and ofcourse Wandy vs Rampage. If those 3 fights happen then im happy..

Any of you guys been watching the Bisping UFC 89 video blog? lol. Its pretty funny man, Mike has 8 lbs to lose by the weigh-in date which is good because hes making weight easy for sure. So today Kongo and the other guys are eating like chili dogs and cookies and ice cream while Mike is eating… uhhh nothing lol. Naw he has a salad at one point lol, man they tease him so bad with the food, especially Kongo dam that guy eats like a beast!
