Anderson Silva Confirms Desire to Retire in 2009 [Video]

Submitted by Dr J on October 15, 2008 – 9:57 amNo Comment

While Anderson Silva says he still plans to retire after his current contract with the UFC is over, his math seems to be a little off. In the interview he states that he still has 6 fights left on his contract which will end in June 2009. With his fight against Patrick Cote this month that would leave 5 more fights to complete in 8 months.

That simply is not possible and I wonder if this will turn into another situation like Randy Couture was involved in. Randy still had fights left on contract but also believed that his contract was over after a certain date. It sounds like Silva believes his contract is up after June 2009 and there is definitely no way he will get 6 more fights in before that deadline.
