Today's Mixed Martial Arts News and Analysis Headquarters

Tomorrow night marks the end of The Ultimate Fighter season 3, with two new UFC contracts being awarded in both the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. I’m not the biggest fan of making predictions, especially for an event like this with some pretty unknown fighters, but here goes anyways.

Light Heavyweight Final

Michael Bisping comes in as a heavy favorite against Josh Haynes. In my opinion, Bisping was the premier fighter on TUF 3 and he wins this fight in the first round. Winner: Michael Bisping – 1st round

Middleweight Final

Ed Herman is the slight favorite in his fight against Kendall Grove. Kendall has a distinct height advantage and if he can use it to his advantage the middleweight contract could be his. Ed Herman didn’t look to impressive in both his fights on the show. Will he live up to his mouth and shut Kendall down with ease? Winner: Kendall Grove – 2nd round

Main event fights

Sam Stout faces Kenny Florian for the main event. I look for this to be a very exciting, quickly-paced fight. Currently, Sam Stout has a slight edge with the Vegas odds makers, but the line is pretty much even. This fight provides a big incentive to both fighters if the winner truly will get a lightweight title shot against Sean Sherk. As much as I don’t think Florian is that great of a fighter, I think he wins this fight by decision. Winner: Kenny Florian – decision

Keith Jardine will fight Wilson Guiveia in what should be an easy shot for Jardine. Most people, including myself, think that Jardine was robbed in his last fight when he lost a decision to Stephan Bonnar. I think Jardine will prove himself to be one of the best fighters to come out of TUF season 2 and Jardine should win this fight easily. Winner: Keith Jardine – 2nd round

Undercard fights

  • Rory Singer vs Ross Pointon. Winner: Rory Singer – 1st Round
  • Kalib Starnes vs Danny Abaddi. Winner: Kalib Starnes – Decision
  • Luigi Fioravanti vs. Solomon Hutcherson. Winner: Luigi Fioravanti – 3rd Round
  • Matt Hamill vs Jesse Forbes. Winner: Matt Hamill – 2nd Round
  • Wes Combs vs Mike Nickels. Winner: Wes Combs – 1st Round
