A few lightweight bouts have been officially announced and added to Pride’s August 26 Bushido: Survial 2 show. This Bushido show will feature four fights in the Bushido Welterweight GP tournament:
- Dan Henderson vs. Kazuo Misaki
- Ryo Chonan vs. Paulo Filho
- Gegard Mousasi vs. Akihiro Gono
- Denis Kang vs. Amar Suloev
Pride has just recently announced four lightweight matchups that all feature American lightweights fighting Japanese lightweights on the undercard.
- Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Chris Brennan
- Nobuhiro Obiya vs. Gilbert Melendez
- Shinya Aoki vs. Jason Black
- Hatsu Hioki vs. Jeff Curran
You’ll remember back in February there was a little bit of a “war of words” between Chris Brennan and UFC President Dana White. Brennan will make his Pride debut against top ranked contender Tatsuya Kawajiri which will be a very tough fight.
Jeff Curran will take on Hatsu Hioki, who recently defeated Mark Hominick to win the TKO lightweight title. Gilbert Melendez will make his first appearance on PPV in the US when he puts his undefeated record on the line against Nobuhiro Obiya, a training parnter of Pride champion Takanori Gomi.
