Today's Mixed Martial Arts News and Analysis Headquarters

BJ PennWith all the discussion over the Ortiz vs. Shamrock III fight, news of BJ Penn’s next fight seems to have slipped through the cracks. BJ Penn’s camp is reporting that he has verbally agreed to fight Kuniyoshi Hironaka on the October 10th UFC Fight Night card.

Penn hasn’t fought since his return to the UFC in March when he lost a decision to Georges St. Pierre and will have his second fight back in the welterweight division. Never one to keep his thoughts to himself, “The Prodigy” has stated his goal of winning the lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight titles in the UFC.

We’ll see. After watching him give St. Pierre that fight, I have my doubts about his motivation.

  2. I think I just got an ********. BJ ******* Penn on FREE TV!!!!

And MightyMaxx, I was at UFC 57 and bottomline…GSP was just better that fight. I had BJ winning the first and GSP winning the 2nd and 3rd.

GSP will beat Matt Hughes next month and set up a future bout hopefully with BJ.

  3. Hey Dr. J,

GSP was deffinately the better fighter. I had it scored the same as you. I never understood why BJ just appeared to completely give after the first round. Was he gassed?…injured?..apathetic? I guess only BJ knows for sure. I suffered many a razzing over that fight. I had visions of the prodigy systematicly dismantleing GSP…grrr. Well hopefully he will not dissapoint again in his next match. Also I’m pretty sure the result of GSP vs Hughes 2 will the same as last time….but I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong.

first round KO or sub for BJ. this is kind of a joke of a fight for how good he is, but i never mind watching him and free TV makes it all the better. should be a good quick fight for BJ. :)

GSP is now injured and who else? BJ Penn will now be fighting Matt Hughes in a month!
