What has generally been assumed has finally been made official. Tito Ortiz and Chuck Liddell will have their rematch at UFC 66 on December 30. The announcement was made tonight at the weigh-ins for tomorrow nights UFC 63.
During a meet-and-greet autograph session prior to the UFC 63 weigh-ins on Friday afternoon in Anaheim, California, Tito Ortiz made an appearance in front of everyone in attendance and had an announcement to make.
Ortiz said that he had just been approached by someone from the UFC and had been told, “We know you have a fight coming up in a couple of weeks [against Ken Shamrock on October 10th], but I wanted to give you this now.” Ortiz said that he was given a contract to fight Chuck Liddell on December 30th at UFC 66.
At that point, Ortiz flashed the contract to the crowd, with his signature already on it. The rematch between Liddell and Ortiz is now officially signed for December 30th, apparently regardless of the outcome of Ortiz’ upcoming fight against Ken Shamrock on Spike TV on October 10th.

Great fight. Good show. Liddell in round 3 got a TKO. Chuck beat Tito’s butt round 1 and cut him up really bad, major cut over the left eye. No eye poking for all the TITO fans. Round 2 goes to Tito, he really fought hard, went for about 4 takedowns. Got Liddell down 1 time, but couldn’t keep him down. Round 3 Liddell and Tito throw some hands, and of course, Liddell knocks Tito down, and starts the pounding, 14 punches later, Tito is crying, literally crying because he lost AGAIN…. He also was man enough to admit it was a fair fight and Chuck is better so I had to give him props on this one…
tito fans: come forward and make some excuse as to why chuck won by cheating. tito is not and will never be up to par with someone as seasoned and polished in mma as the likes of my boy chuckie. did you really think that tito would win?? its hard not to be humble? Tito Ortiz said him self i brought my A game and Chuck brought it better and he just couldnt do it Liddell was the better man. Liddell is a beast!!! the only thing i would have changed is for the Forrest vs Jardine to go a little longer.

And no I don’t think that because I think the world is out to get Ortiz or any of that other nonsense. I’m not much of a fan of Chuck or Tito.
I’ll admit Liddell definitely has a superior stand up to Tito and his take down protection was too much for Ortiz, but Tito took a worse barrage in round one and the ref didn’t stop it. Chuck punched himself out and had to step back for a breather…Tito got up and came back to win round 2 on points.
The barrage in round 3 was not as bad. Most of the punches landed on Tito’s arms. Sure, he wasn’t bettering his position, but he wasn’t out either. Yamasaki should have let it go another 10 or so seconds to see whether or not Chuck would punch himself out…especially with the round almost over.
Chuck likely would have gone on to win, but I hate seeing fights stopped early. Let them go. Better yet, let us watch! I thought Yamasaki ended the Bisping fight a early too. I hate it when he refs.
I’M WITH YOU ON THAT WM63. TITO TOOK MORE HITS IN ROUND 1 AND THE FIGHT WASN’T STOPPED. YET IN ROUND THREE IT WAS-WHEN HE WAS CLEARLY TAKING LESS DIRECT HITS! i watched the after fight press coverage for UFC 66 today and it looks to me like Tito is a broken man he was talking like he just wasnt good enough and he’ll keep fighting and “TRY” his best to win for his fans. i’m not a Tito fan but it was still kind of sad to see his heart break because you know he wanted it bad! i do think i have a new found respect for this new humble Tito but time will tell if this makes him better or worse.

Tito got smashed agianst lidell and its simply becuase tito is wt behind the ears, hes supposed to be all that, but he didnt fair like he should of against griffin, and chuck beathis as easily. tito tried a take down in the middle of the ring, the fence..chuck tageed him in the head with a “**** you, get off me” tito cant stand toe to toe hes not a proficient striker..and chuck cant be handled in a take down, his lower body is stronger than titos…have you seen his chicken legs?
yeah i dont know if there is anyone who take liddell down and keep him there besides randy the first time they met. tito kept saying he could take chucks back and for a min there i thought he might have something up his sleeve when he did it in the second round but not only was chuck on his feet right quick but he got in a nice elbow off the break and tito was very lucky that elbow didnt hit clean cuz it was a savage elbow! as for the stoppage i think i changed my mind the ref should let it go because i think most fights are won from the fetal position right?!?

R.J St. Croix might have made too bold of a statement but Rampage didnt just walk through liddell like you guys put it. First of all, Rampage did knock the hell out of chuck, but he took chuck down to do it and chuck’s takedown defense has improved ten fold since. Second, chuck got tottally gased in that fight because the first round is ten minutes. Third, Rampage’s last two fights were kinda boring and he didnt look like the same fighter who beat liddell in 2003 (both of his last fights he won by decsicion). No doubt Rampage is a force to be reckoned with, but he is human and EVERY rematch chuck fought (in which he lost the first time) he came back to win. I have plenty of faith in chuck to come back and beat rampage. I just dont think chuck can beat nacho libre.
thank you hotpad i dont have to really say anything you said it for me. as far as not seeing the fight goes i did see the fight (on pay per view live) i also watched the fight about five mins befor i wrote that post and like hotpad said the fight ended on the ground and it was after liddell gassed. im not so much putting liddell on a pedestal as i am giving props to a very good fighter! yes you are right i made an over statement in saying NOBODY can take liddell down and keep him there but it seems that way right now. and yes i do watch mma A LOT!!! and not just ufc and pride.when you say someone got there *** kicked you should be talking about a fight like silva/fanklin not liddell/jackson. the liddell vs jackson fight was an awesome fight, both fighters were doing well for most of the fight until a min and a half into the second round rampage hits chuck with a big uppercut and chuck goes down. from there rampage ends up dropping chuck on his back with a nice inside sweep then about a full min worth of ground and pound and as soon as he mounts chuck the fight is stopped. i never said jackson could not beat liddell i was just trying to say chuck looks almost unbeatable right now ALMOST! i wasnt trying to upset anyone sorry. and one last thing i think nacho could be the one to unify ALL titles LOL
Chuck is a laughable light heavyweight. He matches up well against pure wrestlers like Randy and Tito because he avoids the take down and makes them fight to his strength, striking. Rampage ruined him with strikes. Wanderlei Silva knocked Rampage out twice. Forget about chuck, Silva is the greatest light heavyweight in the world. Fedor Elmedenko is the greatest heavy weight with Mirko Crocop a close second. Period.

Like people stated after this post. Chuck is NOT the fighter he was in 2003…and Rampage just isn’t the same. It’s a fact, all of you true MMA fans that watch all the different circuits know that Liddell is the real deal. He has a superb sprawl. Chuck is strong and and has heavy hands. I love pride but there’s no one in Pride besides maybe Crocop and Fedor that would last against the elite of the UFC look at WEC,Pride,Strikeforce and it’s filled with Champs that couldn’t cut it in the UFC. Dana haters are Dana haters pure and simple. The only reason you can blast on this board is because of his business saavy and deals he made with Spike! Dana has made a tremendous effort to make sure MMA gets the respect other sports get. MMA is home to the greatest athletes in the world bar none. Big stars in other sports have openly stated this…and as seen by the recent accuisition of Crocop and Rampage along with the whole WEC and the other circuit which escapes my mind right now. Dana has no qualms about putting the best in the UFC and pitting them against the best. Let’s be serious folks. Chuck Liddell deserves his respect and is lb. for lb. the greatest Lightheavyweight champ in the world. Has anyone seen Wanderlei Silva’s last couple o’ fights? well im glad to see some of you agree with me that chuck liddell is not a ******** champ. im still a bit annoyed that someone would question wether i really watch mma or not! man i live for mma if i didnt have a wife and 6 kids to take care of i would be in the gym right now training to fight. when i was a kid i would have givin my life to be a boxer untill i was 15. it was about two weeks befor my first son was born and my dad got me to check out this really cool no rules “kick-boxing” event. None of these fighters can even throw a decent high kick, or even have for in their punches, not to mention accuracy,like the one Crocop has!
