you absolutely right man, my gas tank SUCKS. if i was still doing my thing i might opt to work on it but at this point i just play around in the gym and teach my boys stuff so my motivation to REALLY get in shape is all but gone. but i know what you mean, even if im grappling with someone that i out weigh by a bunch i still burn out super quick.

Kansas, about the Hughes thing? or the Rich Franklin thing?

This was like 3 years ago and Silva only had 2 fights in the UFC, his KO of Leben and Franklin. At the time i thought Hughes could out grapple him assuming he could take him down and i still think he could have. Now no way in hell, Hughes is not Hughes anymore and Anderson is like a 205er now, no way in hell Matt could beat him now.

For Franklin, you know im a huge fan and i still think he could have beat Anderson in their 2nd meeting if he did everything right. Theres a huge skill gap between them though, and back then Franklin was the bigger guy. If they fought again i would have to defer to Silva this time, hes proved that and i cant deny that.

As much as i like both Hughes and Franklin, they havent changed their game over these past few years and Silva has increased his boxing skills dramatically plus learned to cut weight UFC style. No way either of them could beat Anderson now.....

Thing is.. when I grapple or spar with other players if they are in mediocre shape or their diet isn't up to par, they gas in less than the first minute.. its pretty amazing how a person can run on a tredmill for 15 minutes straight, and that same person can't hang in a ring for more than a minute without just going limp.. you train so you know what I mean... my brother is a prime example, he has a lot of heart, but he also has a gut and turns bright red and gets really tire .. lolz

ah im not worried about being ripped, i've always had surprising punching power for my size and every time i put on even a bit of muscle i feel like it takes away some of my mobility AND takes away a lot of my power. as far as grappling goes i can rely on good movement and tricky tactics, so with all that i think its a good trade off for the lack of brute strength. now a better diet i could use, KD and pizza along with all the other CRAP that i eat is useless for staying in shape lol.

Yeah I try to keep in shape, I lived in Brazil for a year and trained BJJ there - it's hot, no A/C and the diet is organic and solid .. none of that Taco Bell business going on down there, you eat beans, rice, salad sans the dressing and chicken or beef all the time every day - the diet is the biggest thing, my wife is Brazilian so she makes healthy foods, I get 5-10 servings of greens a day, protein supplements twice a day, 3 meals and I hit the gym maybe 3 times a week, maybe.. the pec issue can be solved simply with a daily regimen of 120 pushups cycled at 30 reps X 4
