Keith JardineIn addition to the already “official” fights of Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz and Andre Arlovski vs. Marcio Cruz, the UFC has officially announced a third fight for UFC 66: Forrest Griffin vs. Keith Jardine. Griffin last fought Stephan Bonnar at UFC 62 while Jardine last fought Wilson Gouveia at the Ultimate Fighter 3 finale.

I think this will be an excellent matchup and I’m glad to see Jardine finally get a decent shot in the UFC. I think Jardine has some excellent skills and this fight could be an exciting fight for three rounds. Both fighters like to stand and throw heavy punches, and I don’t expect this fight to hit the ground much at all.

  1. Being a pretty big Forrest Griffin nuthugger, I must say that Jardine scares me. If I were Forrest, I would have passed on this fight. Right now Forrest is in a position to fight either Chuck or Tito next year. I would have rather seen Forrest take out Rashad Evans, then get his big money fight with Chuck or Tito. Jardine could take Forrest out in my opinion.

I completely agree. Jardine (in my opinion) dominated Bonnar and has looked very impressive in all his fights so far. I like this matchup though, because I think it gives us a great view of where both fighters stand right now.

I think this is a very nice addition to the card, theyre both scrappy fighters, it should be a war. I dont think forrest is in the position to turn down any fights at this point, you got a 6 fig contract with the UFC you gon fight who they say boy! hehehe. I think forrest still needs alot of work in his mma skills, hes come a long way in a short time, but hes nowhere near being a good technical fighter. Hes a tough guy who can take punishment and dish it out. His fight with tito didnt really show me much, tito was injured in the fight and forrest didnt want to attack his injured leg. He should have raped that leg if you ask me, its not even a matter of respect for tito, when its your opportunity, you take it. If tito got his leg ruined during the fight, oh well he shouldnt have been fighting injured. You wont see chuck laying down for anyone, tito or his own mother lol. I like forrest griffin, and he should have beaten tito in that fight.. but i guess he didnt want it that badly.

  4. Well don’t forget that Forrest came into that fight with an injury as well, he just didn’t whine about it afterwards.

  5. bvrasp says:

yea, thats what i like about forrest, hes not a baby.. bt i still think he went a bit soft on tito in that fight.. i dunno why tho.. you think it was out of respect?

Jason, I agree that Jardine could really put forrest and his title quest in some trouble. On the other hand, it will show just how talented Jardine is for the average fan that doesn’t really know who he is. I think that this could be the best fight on the card (outside of Chuck-Tito of course) because both fighters are well versed on the feet as well as on the ground. As for the Rashad factor, although I really like Rashad, I do not think that he is at the level to fight forrest yet. Give him one or two more fights and then allow the LHW division to align itself to determine where Rashad stands among the rankings and who he should have to fight to move up.

  7. Laura says:

Wow…alot of people counting Forrest out in this fight with Jardine. I like Jardine and think it should be a great fight…probably one of the more exciting one’s on the card. They are both tough guys who like to scrap, but I think Forrest has slightly better skills and should get the win…my guess is by tko in the 2nd round. :)

  8. Tammy says:

I think Forresy will Keith a run for his money.Forrst has so much heart and he is in this to win. When Foreest fought Tito he should have won, maybe it was out of respect for Tito but he should have just pounded him good and hard

  9. devin says:

forrest by tko 2nd round and after tito pounds chuck we will have a
5 round rematch of the great tito/forrest fight and this one for the belt.
