Today's Mixed Martial Arts News and Analysis Headquarters

Michael BispingMichael Bisping, light heavyweight winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 3, will no longer be fighting on this Saturday nights The Ultimate Fighter 4: The Comeback finale. Bisping was originally scheduled to make his UFC debut on the November 11th card against Eric Schafer.

Earlier today, Schafer, who is 1-0 in the UFC, posted on The Underground forum that his fight with Bisping was off due to visa issues that Bisping was having.

This is a big disspointment for many fans who have been waiting quite a long time to see Bisping in action.

aw man!! this sucks bigtime.. i was looking forward to seeing bisping fight again, i picked him as TUF 3 champ.. not cuz i knew anything about him as a fighter, but cuz he was born in cyprus same as me.. gotta pull for my boy.. I like the ideas they talk about in that forum about having replacement fighters, not like its the first time this has happened.

but ya.. two big thumbs down to this news..

I too was looking forward to seeing Bisping on Saturday. I’ve not been over to the UG so I wonder who will replace him?

  3. Dr J says:

It doesn’t look like there will be a replacement. The fight is just going to be dropped from the card completely, and Schafer is saying they are talking about rescheduling the fight sometime in December.

hello i am john scowby i would like to know what path you took to get to the ufc

  5. Dr J says:

Hello John Scowby. No one here is in the UFC. I’m not sure what you are asking.

  6. Futureman says:

any news on a december rematch?

  7. Dr J says:

It was announced on the UFC 65 PPV that the Bisping vs. Schafer rematch will be at UFC 66 on December 30.

  8. Futureman says:

I thought I saw that, then I double checked the card on ufc.com, wasnt up there yet. thanks!

  9. FutureMan says:

I still have doubts that Bisping will be on the UFC 66 card. He’s still not listed on the ufc.com card, nor is he listed on the UFC 66 official site. I’m guessing they dont want to count their eggs before they hatch (so to speak).
    any thoughts on this?

  10. Dr J says:

The UFC doesn’t put their full fight card on ufc.com until 1-2 weeks before the fight. Considering what happened with Bisping for the UFN card, I can see why they wouldn’t list him as official yet.

Hopefully Bisping won’t be another David Terrell and pull out of 80% of his fights (of course Bisping didn’t claim he was injured like Terrell always does).

  11. joe mcmaster says:

it is a crying shame that a guy loses all 3 rounds yet wins the fight because he is in his own country…you should feel ashamed mike
