UFC 67 is right around the corner on February 3rd in Las Vegas. A while back, soon after it was announced that Quinton Jackson had signed with the UFC, I brought up the possibility of Sam Hoger being Quinton’s first UFC fight.
This was, of course, before it was announced that Jackson would be fighting Marvin Eastman. Well, now I’ve gotten confirmation that Sam Hoger will be fighting Ryoto Machida at UFC 67. Machida has an 8-0 MMA record, and some critics think that he can be a force in the light heavyweight rankings. Personally, I’ve seen Machida fight a few times, and he has done nothing that spectacular to impress me. He does hold victories over Vernon White, Rich Franklin, Stephan Bonnar, and B.J. Penn. (The victory over Penn was in K-1.)
Should be an interesting fight. I’ve never really been able to figure out Sam Hoger and whether or not he is a decent MMA fighter. I look for Machida to take this fight, and hopefully look more impressive than he did in his last fight with the WFA.

this comment was ment to be on the fighter of the year thread but i’m still having problems posting there for some reason
hey dennis no need to apologize bro. no worries. as for a 10 fighter dream team. wow thats a hard one. for heavys cro cop and fedor thats a givin for me. then wanderlei, liddell, and some of may wonder why but i would also say jeremy horn because there is substitute for experience and there is not to many fight with as much as horn. anderson silva is a sure thing and i have to say GSP. i also like diego sanchez. and for light weights i would go with #1 and #2 (mma weekly says so) sakurai and gomi both of these fight are at the top of there game in that weight class. of course all these fighters could change by tomorrow these are just the names that came to mind right now. i could never really pin point just 10 great fighter there is way to many really good fighters out there!!!
Michida has wins over those guys?? Then maybe he is pretty good. Isn’t Franklin’s record ??-2. Those loses being this guy and Silva. No matter when he beat Franklin, that’s still very good. Can’t wait to see him. Hopefully they will brodcast it.

damn dennis what is ur problem with rampage and please explain
Hey Richard, Rampage just strikes me in the wrong way, just like Tito.
I’m an old school guy, that still believes in honor & respect. As I was discussing with BVRASP, allot of these meatheads are just over-muscled jocks without discipline.
AS I mentioned before, Rampage is a VERY strong athlete, but lacks the philosophy to become a legend.
By the way, I don’t care how it is where you live, but there are no hills within hundreds of miles of here, and this is the bible belt, so incest is really frowned upon, so in the future, please keep your personal attacks to a minimum… ok!
sorry again people about the post on the wrong thread.
yeah dennis your 100% right about the fighter of the year thing (from my stand anyways) i voted based on bias and one very good fight. liddell has for sure showed us more reasons we should vote for him. with that said i will still keep my vote for GSP because chuck is doing all the same things he did the year befor (not that, thats a bad thing) but GSP is changing the game a bit. if you watch the hughes vs GSP fight again you’ll see st.pierre catches hughes with a foot sweep. i know your not going to win a fight with a foot sweep but it goes to show how many “tools” st.pierre has to use and it shows how his mind is working well during the fight. it seemed like he was studying and learning hughes even as he was fighting him and i think thats why i like his style so much.
Yes! Someone else appreciates the classic martial arts techniques, and Rush is one of those guys that carries an arsenal of these weapons. That is eXactly why I like him so much. He is evolving, and I believe he has the focus and discipline to be a great champion, maybe even gain legend status.
Who knows? maybe 2007 will be the year of the “Rush”.
dennis y would u bring up old sh*it we were both talking sh*it to each other and if u want to have relations with family thats on u man were in america the land of the free but now reading ur explaination of why u dont like rampage i can respect that u just dont like a fighter but im telling u dont get ur heart broken when rampage beats liddel oh and by the way i do think that liddel is a awesome champ and a excellent fighter
Hey Richard there is absolutely no way that Rampage is gonna beat Lidell. They are both different fighters than they were when they had their first fight. Also Chuck had to go to Japan with the pressure of representing the UFC and fight in a ring and with rules he was not used to. So if your thinking that Rampage is going to repeat against Chuck anytime soon your wrong.
alan buddy chuck is exactly the same waiting to land that big shot if tito can take a hit so can rampage and now chucks got everything to lose in this fight rampage has nothing to lose everyone thinks hes gonna lose so hes got no pressure
Damn, Richard like Vin Diesel once said….
Don’t be a ****………. ****!
