No wonder the UFC is concidered the “Big Show”. But I guess these organizations give the up-n-comers a chance to make a few bucks while training for their dream.

brian what r u talking about i see 2 grand in the ufc two **** jeff monson only made what 13 for fightining tim in my opinion the ufc is cheap

just remember boys no one is making these guys fight. they make the choice to accept the offer in front of them. so they must feel good about it at least at the time anyways lol. the fight is just in some people, they have to do it thats there one true love. i would gladly accept a fight with chuck liddell thats gonna happen in one hour for the price of the tickets just to get to watch the other fights. would you give up you life the way it is now and start fighting even if you knew you were only going to bring in $15,000 a year for the next year or so. i tell ya, you would see me training all day and working at some coffee shop all night if i was ever givin ANY offer.

You couldn’t add up 3 of these salaries to equal my salary at a newspaper in a poor state (OK). That’s what I mean. You need to look at the top guys again for UFC 65 (i think). Those guys at the top are making good money. When or if you get the belt, you start making enough to retire on after a couple of years. That’s what draws these future stars to the UFC. The chance at the big bucks. UFC 65 (i think) below…but not all of them…$10,000+
Check out UFC 66 and see some REAL numbers.
    Tim Sylvia ($120,000)
    Matt Hughes ($75,000)
    Georges St. Pierre ($58,000)
    Brandon Vera ($40,000)
    Frank Mir ($30,000)
    Joe Stevenson ($24,000)
    Nick Diaz ($24,000)
    Jeff Monson ($13,000)
    Jake O’Brien ($12,000)
    Alessio Sakara ($10,000)
    James Irvin ($10,000)

The UFC PPV receipts don’t seem to be flowing through to the fighters yet though …

  6. Amir says:

I find these numbers pretty shocking. Joe Stevenson makes $24,000? is that a joke? I think their salaries should be directly proportional to their value at the time. Frank Mir was not worth $30,000 by UFC 65. His value has plummeted. This would probably give them more incentive (Tim Sylvia) to train and fight. Right now Sylvia’s value is not about him just being the champion, it’s about just getting him in the cage again so that he gets KO’d. I think Dana knows that is what the fans really want to see right now. The question now is a matter who when and where not who.

  7. Roger says:

PPV receipts are up there with boxing but the UFC fighters are still getting one tenth of the pay it seems. I watched Ricky Hatton at the weekend make a couple of million dollars.
