Today's Mixed Martial Arts News and Analysis Headquarters

Here is the official fight lineup for this Saturday’s UFC 67 in Las Vegas.

Main Card

Anderson Silva vs. Travis Lutter
John Halverson vs. Roger Huerta
Eddie Sanchez vs. Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic
Marvin Eastman vs. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson
Patrick Cote vs. Scott Smith

Undercard

Sam Hoger vs. Lyoto Machida
Terry Martin vs. Jorge Rivera
Frank Edgar vs. Tyson Griffin
Diego Saraieva vs. Dustin Hazelett

The Halverson vs. Huerta fight is the “swing bout.” If the first two fights end early, that will be the third fight followed by Cro Cop and Anderson Silva.

I’m somewhat dissapointed; I would have liked to have seen either the Frankie Edgar vs. Tyson Griffin or the Hoger vs. Machida fight. Hopefully, they find a way to squeeze one of those fights onto the card as well.

  1. PATRICK says:

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS … I WANT GSP ON THIS CARD… WHENS HE GONNA FIGHT AGAIN?

  2. MAD says:

They may be able to squeeze one of those fights in. Most of the main card fights don’t seem like they will go to the score cards.

  3. Dr J says:

    @PATRICK,

GSP hasn’t been on this card for a while. He’ll fight again in April most likely.

  4. PATRICK says:

YOYOYO DR J ANY NEWS ON ARLOVSKI IS HE GONNA FIGHT AGAIN?

  5. Amir says:

Man..I just read Travis Lutter’s fight prediction on UFC.com for Sat. and he sounds like he’s a little out of touch with reality. he think the fight will go the same way as Cote. What he doesn’t realize is that Silva actually has knees and uses them. He also states that he has KO power based on his KO of Marvin “chin o’ glass” Eastman. He is in for a rude awakening.

  6. Dr J says:

    @PATRICK,

no word yet on Arlovski. Nothing is confirmed yet coming out of his camp.

  7. PATRICK says:

YEA LUTTER WILL GET HIS @SS HANDED TO HIM

  8. MMAKANSAS says:

Funny.. “chin o glass” is Rampage Jacksons opponent. What the heck is that……I am watching this whole ppv simply to see some beatdowns… but honestly, these fights will be one sided…

Hey… fun topic: COUTURE, Sylvia.. any predictions?

  9. PATRICK says:

GO COTURE GO GO GO GO I HATE TIM SYLVIA…. HAS RANDY EVERY KNOCKED ANYONE OUT?

  10. PATRICK says:

YO GUYS CHECK THIS OUT ….. I GOT THIS OFF OF MMAONTAP.COM

    - UFC welterweight champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre has signed a new six-fight deal with the UFC. The deal will make St. Pierre one of the top paid fighters in the organization.

  11. Brian says:

We’ll see more than just the main card. GO GSP. Get yo money man. Randy’s only submitted like 2 guys. So ya, I’m sure he’s knocked chumps out before.

This card will be easy to predict. Bet I only get one wrong…

  12. Amir says:

    @ MMAKANSAS,

My opinion is that the Couture/ Silvia fight will be a huge dissapointment to many real UFC fans. I’m sure Sylvia knows by now, how much people have been talking negative about him and that he needs to snap out of it and get a decisive victory this time around. Unfortunately, the styles between them should make a very boring fight. I think most would agree that Randy will not be able to bring Sylvia down. Sylvia is not a clumsy fighter for his size…he has good balance and takedown defense, and Randy simply doesn’t have the punching power to knock Sylvia down.
As much as I’ve hated him lately, I see Sylvia winning this one. Maybe the UFC wanted to keep Randy around because of all the upcoming foreign fighters, and are looking for some kind of “American hero” vs. the immigrant gimmick somewhere down the line. Or, maybe now that real superstars are entering the cage, they feel they owe Randy a piece of the profits. A bad choice for a main event, fans will be dissapointed and it hurt more than benefit the UFC.

  13. MMAKansas says:

    Amir;

I can only say that I agree. Sylvia by decision on this, although, I agree with Jayme, I think Sylvia’s takedown defense is okay, but he has a bad case of genu valgum so his balance isn’t the greatest. I think in the end you are right, it will be a boring fight, and that’s gonna be that, then Tim fights Cro Cop and get’s knocked out or beaten until he’s crying… lol

  14. Dennis says:

Guys, guys…. As much as I hate to admit it myself….
    Tim will KO Randy!

  15. MMAKansas says:

    Dennis,
I don’t think Tim will KO Randy. I think Sylvia will win, but it will be a boring fight, like the Monson fight.
Randy is older, but he is still really good, I think Sylvia will keep him at bay with his reach, much like Sylvia/Arlovski 3 ..

Anyone can speculate, but it will take a lot to knock out Randy Couture, and Sylvia is no Chuck Liddell, I just can’t see him pulling it off. The knockout on Arlovski was a fluke and if it wasn’t then he should have pulled it off again on Arlovski or even Monson, all he could do is stand and keep his opponents at bay with his reach..

  16. Dennis says:

    @MMAKansas

Yea, yea, but compared to Tim, Randy is short, and will easily be knocked out by a roundhouse or a knee. Believe it or not, Tim packs a wallop!

  17. MMAKansas says:

Maybe Tim will hit Randy with that “flap of skin” around his waist, that should do the trick…

Seriously, I know what you are saying, I can see where you are coming from, I mean, heck I didn’t expect Gracie to go out like he did against Hughes, (not that quick anyways) but I think Randy can take the shots and go on .. that’s all.

  18. richard says:

randy is going to get knocked out hes not stronger than monson or even has the same bjj as him so there goes a take down or submission and using his dirty boxing at going to work cuz sylvia is to tall and randy doesnt have ko power so there goes that so how is he possiblly going to win and tim does have some kind of power telligiman, macgee, rodriguez, arlovski oh and i aint saying i love sylvia but im just stating facts

  19. alen says:

It doesnt matter whoever wins the fight is going to get knocked out by Mirko Cro Cop in the first round of his next fight.

  20. richard says:

alen i couldnt agree with u more

  21. PATRICK says:

I SAW THE BOB SAPP AND CRO COP FIGHT LAST NIGHT
    MAN HES BAD

  22. MAD says:

It was funny to see Sapp curl up in the fetal position and cry. He’s a 350lb monster! That fight is classic. Just shows Crocop has power in his hands also.

  23. Dennis says:

Ok, now I’ll go out on a limb here. Mirko WILL NOT KO Tim in the first round!

Don’t get me wrong, Mirko will win, but Tim’s not going out like that.

  24. Dennis says:

…. and I’ll be in Luter’s corner when he loses to Anderson.

  25. bvrasp says:

I hope Sylvia beats crocop, i would LOVE it! and ill be cheering for Lutter also.

  26. PATRICK says:

LOL LUTTER … THIS IS PATHETIC

  27. Amir says:

    Hey everybody,

So I just realized that the HD version of UFC67 will cost $49.95

A bit steep for my taste…maybe I’ll stick with the regular broadcast…

what do you all think about this?

  28. Amir says:

Even though Mirko is definitely the total MMA package, I wouldn’t use any fight against Bob Sapp as a merit to fighting skills. I think a “fighter” like Sapp is a joke and freakshow rather than a respected mma performer. Everytime someone actually bullied him back, he cowers like a 5 year old girl and runs away. I could have swore I once saw a Pride fight of his where he looked like he was crying. I don’t remember if it was Ernesto Hoost or Remy Bojanski that completley took him apart. He was one of the main reasons I couldn’t think of Pride as being legitimate, that is until Fedor and Cro came along and a few others. But it’s funny how every now and then, those Japanese fans go apesh*t over some 6’10 500lbs. freak of nature…like the black guy that Fedor fought twice his size. The fans eat it up over there. Cracks me up.

  29. MAD says:

I don’t think anyone was using the Sapp fight to atest for Crocop’s skill it was just a funny fight and I think Sapp cried in that fight also. Pride does seem to like the huge guys that’s why they are creating the super heavy weight division (over 265lbs) so these monsters can fight each other. I don’t think it will be all that competitive but it should be entertaining. Mark Hunt will be competing in this division so there will be at least a couple of guys with skill.

  30. Crockett says:

Let’s talk about Anderson Silva. Is there anyone in the middleweight division who can beat this guy? Travis Lutter must take Silva to the ground if he wants to win.

  31. PATRICK says:

CROKETT I SEE LUTTER DEF TRYING TO TAKE HIM TO THE GROUND I SILVAS LAST TWO FIGHT HAVE IMPRESSED THE CRAP OUTA ME LIKE THE BEST IVE SEEN IN A WHILE HIS PUNCHES … KICKS…. ELBOWS … KNEES…. HES A STRIKING MECHINE…IF I WAS LUTTER I WOULD BE INTIMADATED AS HELL…. SO I THINK HE WILL SHOOT RIGHT OFF THE BAT … SILVA WILL KNOCK HIM OUT

  32. Dennis says:

I personally would like to see Rich hand Silva his ***.

  33. richard says:

im going for silva but all his loses except one have come from submissions now the question is does lutter have the skills to beat silva because he does but rather is he going to be able to take him down while doging knees elbows kick and punches i dont think so.And in my opinion rich franklin made the ufc fans see that the ufc is not filled with talent i seen the replay of that fight and im almost imberresed for rich i thought he was way better than that but i still got respect for the guy but that was a ridiculous title defense

  34. Amir says:

    I agree Richard,

franklin did not seem like his usual self. Maybe he committed the sin of overtraining past his peak, after all he looked completely gassed. But then again, taking repeated knees to the face will do that to ya. He was barely able to block any knee strike. Isn’t that a mma fundamental you learn on day 1?

  35. Dennis says:

    @ Amir

Come on dude, you’re talking about Rich Franklin like he’s an amature!
Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t understand you people talking down to guys like Matt, Rich, Tim & Chuck. All of these guys are GREAT fighters!….world champions!
Rich just had an off day, like Matt. It can happen to anyone, but I can tell you that any fighter that for one minute drops his guard, or takes any of these fighters lightly, has already loss.
Wake up guys, these are champions by every sense of the word.

  36. R.J. St.Croix says:

i say franklin lost to silva because silva is the better fighter. franklin said after the fight that he thought he had the better clinch work. andersons muay thai skills are awesome and his strikes are so accurate its hard for anyone to deal with. i dont think rich had an off night i think he trained to try and beat silva at his own game (clinch/muay thai/dirty boxing) as you can see this was a bad mistake. he would have done well if he took the fight to the ground and tryed some g’n'p or try for a submission. its common sense that you dont try to strike with the better striker. i remember rich saying there is no one in the middle weight class that he wouldnt be willing to throw hands with. and he even believed his own hype. so did franklin fight like an amature? no! but he did make an amature mistake by under estimating silva’s skills and putting him self in a bad position by trying to play silva’s game.

  37. R.J. St.Croix says:

well ufc 67 is comming up fast. and like every other event i’m starting to get pumped. i know there is a bunch of you who are not totally thrilled about this card but i think we will see some really good fights. i dont think sanchez is on cro cop level but i think he will try his *** off. if sanchez can bang till the judges tell us who won he will earn just as much respect as if he won the fight. cro cop vs. sanchez is my fight to look out for.

  38. R.J. St.Croix says:

    @patrick

your so right dude tim sucks! thats why i think you should go and train real hard and kick his ***. i think you can do it man! go for it, show us how a real champ throws down!

  39. Jayme says:

Hey Dennis, we call it like we see it!

World Champions?(much respect to Chuck) Tim Sylvia world Champion of what, the UFC and a handful of over the hill anabolics?

Come on, It seems your being a bit to protective of the current lineup. With the injection of new talent (YES — more to come) you will see these “champions” fall one by one to outside fighters drawn to the UFC for a bit of the bling. Come a year or two from now the UFC will be a nasty place (thats a good thing)

  40. bvrasp says:

your so right dude tim sucks! thats why i think you should go and train real hard and kick his ***. i think you can do it man! go for it, show us how a real champ throws down!

    Left by R.J. St.Croix

    hahahahaha

    hahahahaha

but seriously RJ, maybe you should train real hard and take on ACE!

  42. Dennis says:

    @Jayme

I don’t have to protect those guys, but I do give them loads of respect, and they DO deserve it.

You’re right… champions do fall. Young blood will always injected into every fight sport, but guys like Randy, Chuck & Matt are more than just champions……… they are legends.

  43. Jayme says:

    @Dennis

Yeah, your right Dennis, I guess they are Legends…..just like Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior.

Kidding….well apart from Tim(respect for the others). OK, Ok, enough with this Goon bashing…….lets see what happens next.

  44. Dennis says:

    Who would win:

    Liddell or Marciano?
    Anderson Silva or Ali
    Tyson or Rampage
    Andre the Giant or Fedor
    Roberto Duran or Diego Sanchez
    Van Damme or GSP
    Bruce Li or BJ Penn
    Royce Gracie or Chuck Norris
Sugar Ray Leonard or Captain America

  45. Dennis says:

    sorry guys… couldn’t help it…

  46. Cody says:

Marciano fought old people and got to much credit cause retire undefeated. Liddel
Ali was never a street fighter. Silva
Andre the Giant will put Fedor to the test.?????
Whick Tyson are you talking about now or 1987.????
Diego can take Duran down, but he play hero try to exchange blows Duran. Diego maybe
Van Damme was all Hollywood. GSp
How did Bruce Li weigh? 125 pounds?
Royce was the one broke all the martial art myth. Royce
Sugar is too small for Coture
Wallace is too small for tito

  47. richard says:

ok on the franklin silva fight someone said he didnt fight like a amuetur he did watch that fight its crazy how easy silva beat the crap out of franklin but i can say when he walked in the ring he looks sick or tired and already had a black eye maybe the rematch will be better and make me a fan again im just saying for a champ he did horrible
