IM SORRY I JUST THINK DANA IS SUCH A CHEAP @SS

  2. Brian says:

OK. Check out Heath Hearing. Now like I said in an article. The UFC doesn’t see Heath as anything but a stepping stone for it’s better fighters. Heck, they payed Jake more even WITHOUT his win bonus. “Texas Crazy Horse” is intertaining…but not championship matterial. Bottom Line!

  3. PATRICK says:

I AGREE BRIAN BUT A STEPPING STONE FOR WHO

  4. MMAKansas says:

Dana White is not cheap, well okay, he underpays his talent in the eyes of most, however, the sport of MMA is not boxing, and it has a lot of old debt from before the transition and aquisition. They are still paying off crap from 6 years ago. Dana is a business man and a fight promoter, not a saint. If these young guys want the good pay days they are gonna have to pay their dues, and believe me you dont get into MMA to get rich, you do it because you love to do it. If these young fighters were smart, they would hire some “Don King’s” to help them negotiate better paychecks. Right now the UFC is the only major fighting org. in N. America. If we can get some competition you will see a hike in payouts. Until then, this is still the best opportunity for a martial artist to make it big with his talent.

  5. Dennis says:

To add to that…. the up & coming fighters don’t even need a King. They just need to work hard, then they can demand the money of the ICEMAN! … who by the way is doing pretty good.

  6. Amir says:

does anyone know why a guy like Marquardt gets the most money?

  7. Dr J says:

    @ AMIR,

Marquardt is one of the most experience fighters with some of the best credentials in the UFC. They seem to keep in relegated to the under card lines, because his fights can seem “boring” at times, but Marquardt is an excellent fighter.

Check out Marquardt’s status and past history in Pancrase.

  8. PATRICK says:

HEY DR J… WHEN ARE U GONNA POST PREDICTIONS FOR UFC 67 I CANT WAIT TO READ THEM?

  9. Dr J says:

    @PATRICK,

My predictions usually always are posted the Thursday before each UFC event.

  10. MMAKansas says:

Dr J .. do you think Dana underpays his fighters, or do you think they are fairly compensated for their performances?

  11. shawn says:

Marquardt is not delegated to undercards. His first UFC fight was a TV main event and his second made it to a PPV broadcast. His last two fights on TV were pushed off the broadcast by Spike TV to make room for TUF guys they see as more marketable, not by the UFC. Marquardt is a serious contender now in the division. With Silva as champ and Franklin clearly the number one contender at this point, it can’t even be argued that anyone else in the middleweight division is more deserving of a crack at the strap that Nate or Swick. The two guys should battle it out for the number one contenders spot, assuming Swick beats Okami.

Herring is getting paid what was on his WFA contract. The UFC clearly would have signed him for a lot more, considering his past track record, but they don’t have to now since they bought out the WFA contracts. HErring isn’t seen as a stepping stone for anyone either. Before his fight, he was seen as probably the number 4 or 5 heavyweight in the company. He lost in part due to injury and in part due to fighting like ****. I don’t think that’s the Heath Herring we should expect to see in his next fight.

  12. Brian says:

He’s no where near the #2, 3, or 4 guy in the world. But I know you are saying in the UFC, and God I hope not. That means the heavyweight division really stinks! I’m sorry, but I’ve seen Heath a number of times and I think he’s lost a step or two. Not a big fan.

  13. richard says:

im saying this and i aint *** spencer fisher broke my heart he is my number one lightwieght and when he lost i have to admit i had tears i never thought something like mma would make me cry

  14. bvrasp says:

it IS kind of odd to see Marquardt walking away with that kind of payday when they didnt even air the fight lol. I dont see how they can spend so much money advertising and hyping up Herring, then bank on Marquardt that hard, without even showing the fight. Especially vs Lister..

  15. PATRICK says:

HEY DR J…..I UNDERSTAND WHAT U MEAN NOW BY SAYING ANYONE CAN LOSE… I JUST WATCHED THE CRO COP VS RANDLEMAN FIGHT MAN RANLDEMAN KICKED HIS *** WITH THAT LEFT AND KNOCKED HIM OUT WITH THOSE ELBOWS….. I KNOW WHAT U MEAN NOW….

  16. PATRICK says:

HEY DR J…. WHAT TIME DO U DO UR PREDICTIONS ON THUR WOULD YA SAY???
