Well, overall I thought UFC 68 was pretty standard and underwhelming but the main event definitely was worth watching
- Couture looked brilliant; Sylvia looked despicable. I never thought Sylvia would get dominated in the standup game like he did. I think we all knew that Randy would easily control Tim on the ground if he got him there, but I don’t think anyone assumed Randy would have such an easy time with Tim on the feet. From the opening 10 seconds when Randy rocked Tim and sending him collapsing to the canvas until the end of the fifth round, Couture dominated Tim in every single aspect of the fight. It was one of the best things I have seen in a while. Tim’s eye looked like David Louiseau did after his fight with Rich Franklin – nasty.
- I can’t help but wondering if Couture is making his coming just a little too late. It seems like his timing might not be that great with the recent addition of Mirko Cro Cop to the UFC heavyweight fold. Its great to see Randy win the heavyweight belt again, but does anything think he’ll be able to do the same to Cro Cop? And if/when he loses to Cro Cop, what is Randy going to do at that point? Will he finish out the remaining two fights on this contract or just retire again?
- Babalu looked good for a few minuts and bad for much longer. Sobral needs to spend some time in the boxing gym and learn how to cover up and protect himself with a little defense. I can see Babalu joining Joe Riggs in the WEC after another loss like that
- Jon Fitch continues to impress and even though he wasn’t show on the main PPV card. I don’t know what the deal is between the UFC and Fitch but he deserves to be right there are the top of his division.
Dana White gave a good interview to Sherdog.com after the event and if you can stand Dana and his propensity to use the F-word then its a good interview to watch. He gives is obvious thoughts on Pride, the Chuck vs Rampage matchup, and what he thought of Chuck’s appearance on the Dallas TV station last week.

almost everyone counted him outt because of his age or sylvias reach, which basically became obsolete, but he did it, and clearly put on quite a performance…
I was one of the couture supporters for this fight an di knew he was gonna win….but, not liek that…did Tim even prepare for couture?? or did he think he was gonna juss breeze through this match?? because honestly he looked pathetic, and he looked like he gave up on being the champ after the first round…i dont know if anyone noticed but did tim even land 1 clean solid punch on couture?? cause i def didnt see it..

lol dana white is too funny man! you can tell that guy is just a fan who happen to got the chance to run the show. i like how he rags on pride for putting the best guys in dumb asss fights
haha yea man, danas the man, in the past hes said good things about pride because he was anxious to collaborate with them. Looks like he doesnt really care these days, maybe because theyve been unco-operative in the past? At this point i dont really mind that he said that about pride hehe
My comments on UFC 68
Hughes didnt look as good as i had hoped, tho theres not much point in repeating what other people already said, we all know what happened. Hopefully hughes will step up his level of intensity for the GSP rubber match.
Franklin looked good and if macdonald decided he didnt want to continue, it means he was majorly hurt man, i dont think he would drop out for no reason, I dont think theres any shame in that if he got injured.
I cant believe what happened to babalu, he needs to go back to the drawing board and step into the boxing ring atleast to work on his movement..
RANDY! RANDY! RANDY! what can you say about this guy man? hes a G! he is THE MAN! Tim looked like SH|T!! by the fourth round i was hoping that Randy was gonna finish him, out him out of his misery… man! that first shot after the fake leg kick should have knocked out Tim, just to spare him the embarassment of getting OWNED in every aspect of that fight! total domination.
After the fight, Tim was saying how Randy kept him guessing the entire fight, making him think he would shoot when he would strike etc, etc.. OBVIOUSLY, that is ALWAYS randys gameplan, its not a new concept, he knew Sylvia wouldnt take him down, so hes free to swing away, just like chuck vs tito, thats why tito was throwing alot of kicks too. Besides that HUGE mistake Tim made, his other HUGE mistake was trying to out think Randy. I watched the fight 3 times so far, in most situations Tim would step up to Randy then stop and stand right in front of him waiting. Was he waiting to counter Randy? really bad idea, i hope Pat didnt come up with that strategy because it was VERY stupid.
Tim was supposed to pressure Randy, and keep a constant pressure so Randy wouldnt have time to think and plan his attack. Dont just stand there like an idiot letting Randy set up his distance and timing, Randy must have had like an 80% punching accuracy in that fight, and they were all haymakers. Tim could have easily won that fight in my opinion, but he let Randy set the pace of the fight and impose his will on him. How often do you see the smaller guy chasing the big guy around?
Im glad Tim lost this fight, GET YOUR MIND RIGHT TIM..
Randy had a great gameplan and executed it perfectly, if you have the means, go back and watch it again, watch the way randy uses his footwork to move in and out, then his AMAZING head movement! WOW! his striking was better than ive ever seen. Its pretty clear that randy was training his hands more than anything before this fight, he already knew he had the edge on the ground. He did a great job, and Tim helped him win by pretty much fighting with no intensity and really… no brain at all.
Please don’t let Randy face Cro Cop. I like Randy a lot and I don’t wanna see him against Cro Cop. I know it could be a good fight, but I’m worried.
Oh well…Randy can handle his own and I sure won’t count him out against Cro Cop. I would rather see Cro Cop whoop the crap out of Silvia and prove that he isn’t the big bad heavyweight he thinks he is.
the only reason i didnt want to see that fight end after that first punch that rocked sylvia is because it would leave the question of was it a lucky punch. and you know sylvia would have tryed to say that and want a rematch right away. at least this way we all know who won that fight and why. now sylvia might get back some of that drive that got him to the top in the first place.
i was watching couture fight with my beer and i was in the middle of a drink when he knocked down sylvia i spit beer all over my living room thats how shocked i was and when couture kept on landing his right hand the money i was pissed off on blowing on this ppv didnt matter it was the best ufc fight sinck silva franklin u go couture and ill be on ur side when u face cro crop ,hey anything can happen
when couture landed that punch and sylvia started to fall i ALMOST got a boner!!! lol!!! nah for real though i jumped up and started yelling “OH MY GOD YEAH, THAT MAKES ME ******* HORNY” lmao. my wife said “ok i’m going to hang out at my sisters” and left till the fight was over. LOL i dont know why i felt the need to share this info with you but what ever? LOL i’m sure you all yell stupid obscene shiit at your t.v. too! if not then….get in to it man.lol
hahahah RJ, ya man i think we all have those urges, a friend of mine likes to stick his *** in the face of televised guys who he doesnt like. For example, Chuck vs Tito at MY place, with my girl in the house, he tried to stick his *** in titos mouth saying “come on tito suck my ***, suck my ***!!” and i had to assure my girl that this is normal heterosexual male behaviour lol

crying IS a manly thing IF your are watching a fight LOL i know there has been a few fights that made me tear up. i almost started to cry when matt hughes kicked royce gracie’s asss it was hard to watch one of my all time hero’s get ***’d up like that. and on the other side of the coin i got a bit choked up when another one of my hero’s (randy couture) win back his title. i will never judge weather someone is a true fan or not but i will say dont poke fun at the guy who puts his heart in to cheering on his favorite fighter because he is a “true” fan and he doesnt watch because all his buddys do or because its cool THIS year he watches because he loves it and will still watch it if it wasnt cool anymore.
