I think that Sylvia was underpaid. He sucks, but he was the champion. I know it sounds crazy, but I think that Dana was helping Randy make some money “post-divorce” and Randy ended up shocking everyone by dominating Sylvia. Just my opinion.

  2. bvrasp says:

everyone was underpaid, except randy. I think Franklin and Lytle really got screwed personally..

  3. R.J. St.Croix says:

well it looks like randy got offered a million to compete in four fights. awesome i’m glad to see that. i know some of you think that some people are getting ***’d over while other are getting over paid but just remember who is putting assses in seats. is tim sylvia worth $250,000 a fight? would you have been as pumped to see sylvia fight anyone else (cro cop excluded) and would it have been main event caliber? would you have got the p.p.v. if sylvia vs. couture were not on the card and franklin vs. macdonald or hughes vs. lytle was the main event?

  4. MAD says:

Randy deserves to get paid like that. He’s put his dues in and is in the hall of fame. Rich is getting screwed he must have signed a pretty long contract because he hasn’t made a lot of money for a while. Franklin deserves to be at 100k at least because he was the champ for a while and is a good PPV draw. Lytle only getting 10k to fight Hughes is pretty low also. I think Dana is helping Randy out after what he called an ugky divorce. Randy’s the man and even though Mirko’s probably going to beat him I hope he does well again. After his last performance you can’t count that guy out in any fight.

  5. Dr J says:

Franklin is still on a seven fight contract that he signed quite a while ago. I believe he still has one more fight on that deal. This past fight with MacDonald might have been the last fight, but I believe he still has one more on his current contract.

  6. MAD says:

Hopefully e will get paid better on his new contract. He looked like he is more determined than before. I think the fight with Silva humbled him a little and made him refocus. Dana seems to be rewarding the fighters that have been loyal and helped the UFC grow to it’s current level. Rich should get a big raise on his next contract if he keeps putting on a good show which he always does win or lose.

  7. bvrasp says:

that makes sense Dr. J, seems like we all agree that Richs nubers should increase soon.

What about lytle tho?? i mean, maybe hes not the best fighter, but hes fought some tough guys man! and just for stepping in the octagon with Hughes he should have got a little extra scratch..

  8. Amir says:

Rich Franklin $42,000? that’s crazy considering he’s a former champ…I thought he would easily ve making 6 figures by now.

  9. PATRICK says:

    LOL LYTLE SORRY PLAYA

  10. Dennis says:

I’d be really surprised if Ace doesn’t get 6 figures.

  11. richard says:

i thought that lytle sucked but even though he lost he took hughes to a decision and i have to give him props on that and yes i to think that franklin was under paid but i doubt if he can beat silva

  12. richard says:

i cant believe that dan henderson isnt number one on the 185 weight limit on mma weekly its bull

  13. Crockett says:

Rich Franklin must defeat Anderson Silva and if wants a contract similar to Matt Hughes. If he wants a contract similar to top dogs like Tito, Chuck, and Randy, then he must defeat Nathan Marquardt and shut down the rising stars like Mike Swick, Yushin Okami, and Kendall Grove. For now, $42,000 is his price tag just like Renato Sobral.

  14. richard says:

i can see franklin beating all of them except anderson

  15. chris says:

I think that the fighters get paid just right. This is what they love to do if the are in it for money then there mind is not in the right place to fight. It will turn out to be like most pro. sports guys playing for money not the love of it any more.

  16. richard says:

chris i know what u are saying but these guys have to eat these guys put long hours in the gym if they didnt get paid for fighting how would they eat

  17. Dennis says:

One win for Randy, and he’s #5!
